| Abstract: | With the speedy social and economic development and under the precondition that objective changes have taken place in the urban functions,the spatial structure of small cities has evolved from single-axis expansion to multi-axis expansion.Small cities have also evolved from "street cities" to "barcode cities".An open "barcode city" is a kind of urban structural unit of sustainable development which is universally practical for spatial expansion of small cities. |
