| Abstract: | Open block has four fundamentalfeatures:every single building has its independentcharacter;it reflects the spirit of place;it places nostrict limit on the height of buildings and it stressesthe heterogeneity,hybrid and contradiction.To someextent the idea of open block has caused someinfluence on the urban construction in Europe nowa-days and also has some enlightenment for China inurban residential construction at the present stagein many ways. |
