Hospital Buildings in Integration--A Case Study on Changxing Health Care Institute for Women and Children

Hospitals in China are currently having technological revolutions as well as reforms on their economic systems and hospitalizing patterns, all of which have made the design of hospital buildings an integrated task that has to deal with not only the fundamental technological issues, but also many contradictory factors. This paper makes a case study on the design plan of Changxing Health Care Institute for Women and Children. It discusses some relevant issues and makes a thorough and integral study on the five aspects, namely, structure of the city, functions and the space, environmental quality of the surroundings, growing structure, and shape and texture.
