On the Relationship between Water Culture and Urban Planning

Water is the source of life, and the source of city, meanwhile forming the variety of urban water culture. In ancient China, people love but also feel mysterious about water, so it derives the wisdom, morality, divinity and inspiration of water, which affect urban construction and planning deeply. This paper analyses the formation, development, diffusion, classification and formation cause of urban water culture in China.
