中国西部地区城市化战略

城市化对于西部大开发具有重要的战略意义。根据西部生态环境特点、经济发展和城市化阶段 ,以及西部大开发的战略目标 ,西部今后应该走以中小城市为重点的城市化道路。把推进城市化的重点放在中等中心城市建设和培育新的区域中心上 ,同时大力发展小城镇 ,改造完善现有大城市 ,培育和增强二级中心城市功能。要依托中心城市 ,选择基础条件好、交通便利的城市重点突破、集中开发 ,逐步建成一批具有一定辐射能力的中等中心城市 ,并将一些条件具备的中型城市建设成为区域二级中心城市 ,逐步形成开放协调的西部城镇体系。在城市建设同时注重污染治理和生态环境建设 ,促进西部区域可持续发展。

On the strategy of urbanization in the Western China

Urbanization carries a great significance to the promotion of development in the western part of China. The development of small and medium sized cities is the trend of urbanization there. Much attention should be given to the treatment of pollution and the construction of the ecology,and the sustainable development must be also remembered from time to time.
