从道光年间开始,国家多难,园林更替频繁,一代名园林毁于一旦,一代新园又在崛起.西方文化进入中国,与传统文化产生强烈冲突.在西方园林文化影响下,诞生了近代公园,但公园真正的意义未得体现.通过一张历史年表,可以大体勾勒出晚清园林的概况.

Chronological Table of Chinese Gardens during Later Qing Dynasty

s: There were so many disasters during later Qing Dynasty beyond King Daoguang that a great number of famous gardens were destroyed by wars while fortunately some new gardens arose. Western cultures came to China with foreigners' guns and cannons, which led to big conflicts. Modern parks became aroused with western landscape architecture but theirs real meaning was not embodied. By the chronological table, the outline of Chinese gardens during later Qing dynasty was sketched.
