还土地和景观以完整的意义:再论"景观设计学"之于"风景园林"

关于Landscape architecture学科和名称之争论,必须从内容理解和中英文的名称翻译两方面来澄清.对LA的混乱认识,绝不仅仅是翻译问题.中国的园林或风景园林的职业范围客观上远不如国际LA,解决之道在于走向土地和景观的完整设计.必须尊重中国社会对一些关键词的约定俗成,用历史发展观认识:LA的过去叫园林或风景园林,LA的现在叫"景观设计学",LA的未来是"土地设计学".

Landscape Architecture in Terms of The Wholeness of Land

The paper argues that landscape architecture should take land as a whole; the deep meaning of LA is land design, which differs from the traditional concept of landscape gardening. The current understanding of LA in China is limited to landscape gardening, which is harmful in facing the overwhelming process of urbanization and dramatic land change across the vast country. This paper therefore calls for a revolutionary rethinking of the profession and education of LA in China.
