| Abstract: | Demands for ethylene, plastics, synthetic fibers and synthetic rubbers in the early part of the 21st century were introduced together with the newly developed processes and technologies in petrochemical industry in detail. It was predicted that up to the early part of the 21st century the technologies for natural gas derived chemicals will be further developed, more and more large-scale integrated bases of petroleum refining and petrochemicals will be established and trends of globalized distribution of funds, raw materials and markets in the petrochemical industry will be realized. |
