| 摘 要： | 分析美国浪漫主义、现实主义、现代主义以及女性小说中具有代表性的四部小说《白鲸》、《哈克贝利·费恩历险记》、《老人与海》和《觉醒》中河流和海洋的意象，可以看出，由于地理、历史和文化上与水的特殊渊源，“水”的意象已经深入到了美利坚民族的集体无意识，在许多美国小说中，“水”不仅仅作为人物和事件发生的背景，其本身也担当了重要的角色，具有原型象征意义。

| Abstract: | By analyzing the images of rivers and seas in the four American fictions-Moby Dick, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Old Man and the Sea , and The Awakening, masterpieces of American Romanticism, Realism, Modernism, and Feminism, respectively, this paper attempts to illustrate the fact that due to the geographic, historical and cultural reasons, ＂water＂ has rooted itself as an archetype in American literature, playing an active role in American fiction instead of only serving as the setting of a novel. |
