Abstract:A five-parameters automatic seawater nutrients analyzer was s developed to determine nutrients in sea water.The analyzer was used to determine orthophosphate,dissolved silicate,ammonia,nitrate and nitrite were studied.The linearity,the detection limit and the relative standard deviation of the orthophosphate were found to be 10-400μg/L(r 0.9997),0.7μg/L and 0.4%,respectively.The linearity,the detection limit and the relative standard deviation of the dissolved silicate were found to be 50-2000μg/L(r 0.9999),1.3μg/L and 1.6%,respectively.The linearity,the detection limit and the relative standard deviation of the ammonia were found to be 20-2000μg/L(r 0.9999),2.5μg/L and 2.5%,respectively.The linearity,the detection limit and the relative standard deviation of the nitrate were found to be 20-1000μg/L(r 0.9997),0.4μg/L and 0.2%,respectively.The linearity,the detection limit and the relative standard deviation of the nitrite were found to be 10-500μg/L(r 0.9999),0.3μg/L and 0.1%,respectively.Two seawater samples were analyzed with recoveries ranging from 91.8% to 102.1%.Using the paired Student's t-test at the 95% confidence level,the results of the analyzer and reference method for determination of the three samples showed no significant difference.
