Abstract: | The direct synthesis of dimethyl ether (DME) poses a process intensification. Due to the strong exothermic reaction the knowledge of kinetic parameters is necessary. A physical mixture of two commercial catalysts was used. The experiments were carried out at 50 bar from 220 to 280 °C. The isothermal behavior has been confirmed by measuring axial temperature profiles. From the measured data the kinetic parameters have been determined. The rate law was formulated such, that it considers the thermodynamic equilibrium and the real‐gas behavior of the gaseous species. |
