多用户检测是DS-CDMA系统中的一项关键技术,而阵列天线也是一项减轻多用户干扰的方法.许多现存的多用户检测器需要知道很多系统参数,并且其自适应实现需要发送训练序列.在多径衰落信道下,这些参数是很难获得的.本文提出了一种新的基于Kalman滤波的盲空时多用户检测器(BSTKAL),这种多用户检测器不需要发送训练序列.研究结果表明,检测器具有较强的抑制多址干扰和克服"远-近"效应的能力,并且能快速收敛.  相似文献

多用户检测技术是DS-CDMA中的一项关键技术,而天线阵也是一种减轻多用户干扰的方法,本文将两种技术结合在一起,提出了将子空间方法应用于天线阵多用户检测技术,这种技术可适用于低速移动台在慢衰落信道下的盲检测,仿真结果表明这种算法比单纯作最佳二维Rake接收要好,和有训练序列的先做CMOE再做最佳合并的性能差不多。  相似文献

This paper reviews and proposes blind multiuser detection techniques for space division multiple access systems. In this case, multiple users can be separated due to their spatial position by means of an adaptive antenna array. The constant modulus algorithm is employed in the array weights computation together with the concept of explicit decorrelation, for the sake to recover all users simultaneously. In order to improve the convergence rate and the steady-state error behavior, two new features are introduced. The first contribution is the proposition of a least-squares version of the CMA technique for multiuser detection. Afterwards an adaptive procedure is proposed to provide an improved explicit decorrelation. The performance improvements are confirmed bx some simulation results.  相似文献

Recently developed subspace techniques for blind adaptive multiuser detection are briefly reviewed first. In particular, blind methods based on signal subspace tracking for adapting linear multiuser detectors in AWGN CDMA channels are considered, as well as extensions of these techniques to frequency selective fading channels, dispersive channels, and antenna array spatial processing. In addition, subspace‐based nonlinear adaptive techniques for robust blind multiuser detection in non‐Gaussian ambient noise channels are also described. Several new techniques are then developed within the subspace framework for blind joint channel estimation and multiuser detection, under some specific channel conditions. These include (1) an adaptive receiver structure for joint multiuser detection and equalization in dispersive CDMA channels, (2) a subspace method for joint multiuser detection and equalization in unknown correlated noise, and (3) a method for joint interference suppression and channel tracking in time‐varying fading channels. In this paper, the applicability of the subspace-based blind adaptive algorithm in multiple access ultra-wideband systems is investigated. However, in the multiuser transmission environment, multiple access interference becomes a serious issue and results in the degradation of system performance. In order to overcome this shortcoming, we propose a novel and low complexity decision mechanism, termed the decision timing instant (DTI). A major advantage of the DTI algorithm is that it admits an adaptive implementation with low computational complexity instead of singular value decomposition. In the present paper, we exploit the joint blind multiuser detection in UWB systems, a combined scheme is proposed, which couples the minimum-mean-square-error and the DTI subspace tracking algorithm under UWB time-variant channels. Simulation results show that DTI is able to fast and precisely trace the variation of the channel environment and to improve the performance of the blind adaptive multiuser detection with a subspace approach over time-varying channels.  相似文献

The problem of multiuser detection in multipath CDMA channels with receiver antenna array is considered. The optimal space-time multiuser receiver structure is first derived, followed by linear space-time multiuser detection methods based on iterative interference cancellation. Blind adaptive space-time multiuser detection techniques are then proposed, which require prior knowledge of only the spreading waveform and the timing of the desired user's signal. Single-user-based space-time processing methods are also considered and are compared with the multiuser approach. It is seen that the proposed multiuser space-time processing techniques offer substantial performance gains over the single-user-based methods, especially in a near-far situation  相似文献

In many physical channels where multiuser detection techniques are to be applied, the ambient channel noise is known through experimental measurements to be decidedly non-Gaussian, due largely to impulsive phenomena. This is due to the impulsive nature of man-made electromagnetic interference and a great deal of natural noise. This paper presents a robust multiuser detector for combating multiple access interference and impulsive noise in code division multiple access (CDMA) communication systems. A new M-estimator is proposed for "robustifying" the detector. The approach is corroborated with simulation results to evaluate the performance of the proposed robust multiuser detector compared with that of the linear decorrelating detector, and the Huber and the Hampel M-estimator based detectors. Simulation results show that the proposed detector with significant performance gain outperforms the linear decorrelating detector, and the Huber and the Hampel M-estimator based detectors. This paper also presents an improved robust blind multiuser detection technique based on a subspace approach, which requires only the signature waveform and the timing of the desired user to demodulate that user's signal. Finally, we show that the robust multiuser detection technique and its blind adaptive version can be applied to both synchronous and asynchronous CDMA channels.  相似文献

Previously developed blind techniques for multiuser detection in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems lead to several near-far resistant adaptive receivers for demodulating a given user's data with the prior knowledge of only the spreading sequence of that user. In the CDMA uplink, however, typically the base station receiver has the knowledge of the spreading sequences of all the users within the cell, but not that of the users from other cells. In this paper, group-blind techniques are developed for multiuser detection in such scenarios. These new techniques make use of the spreading sequences and the estimated multipath channels of all known users to suppress the intracell interference, while blindly suppressing the intercell interference. Several forms of group-blind linear detectors are developed based on different criteria. Moreover, group-blind multiuser detection in the presence of correlated noise is also considered. In this case, two receiving antennas are needed for channel estimation and signal separation. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed group-blind linear multiuser detection techniques offer substantial performance gains over the blind linear multiuser detection methods in a CDMA uplink environment  相似文献

Blind multiuser detection: a subspace approach   总被引:24,自引:0,他引:24  
A new multiuser detection scheme based on signal subspace estimation is proposed. It is shown that under this scheme, both the decorrelating detector and the linear minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE) detector can be obtained blindly, i.e., they can be estimated from the received signal with the prior knowledge of only the signature waveform and timing of the user of interest. The consistency and asymptotic variance of the estimates of the two linear detectors are examined. A blind adaptive implementation based on a signal subspace tracking algorithm is also developed. It is seen that compared with the previous minimum-output-energy blind adaptive multiuser detector, the proposed subspace-based blind adaptive detector offers lower computational complexity, better performance, and robustness against signature waveform mismatch. Two extensions are made within the framework of signal subspace estimation. First, a blind adaptive method is developed for estimating the effective user signature waveform in the multipath channel. Secondly, a multiuser detection scheme using spatial diversity in the form of an antenna array is considered. A blind adaptive technique for estimating the array response for diversity combining is proposed. It is seen that under the proposed subspace approach, blind adaptive channel estimation and blind adaptive array response estimation can be integrated with blind adaptive multiuser detection, with little attendant increase in complexity  相似文献

A modified linearly constrained constant modulus algorithm for blind adaptive multiuser detection in DS/CDMA systems is presented. By selecting a suitable linearly constrained cost function, the performance of the proposed algorithm is improved in terms of the capability of suppressing multiple access interference. The problem of blind adaptive joint multiuser detection and equalization in direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems operating over fading dispersive channels is considered. A blind and code-aided detection algorithm is proposed, i.e., the procedure requires knowledge of neither the interfering users' parameters (spreading codes, timing offsets, and propagation channels), nor the timing and channel impulse response of the user of interest but only of its spreading code. The proposed structure is a two-stage one: the first stage is aimed at suppressing the multiuser interference, whereas the second-stage performs channel estimation and data detection. Special attention is paid to theoretical issues concerning the design of the interference blocking stage and, in particular, to the development of general conditions to prevent signal cancellation under vanishingly small noise. A statistical analysis of the proposed system is also presented, showing that it incurs a very limited loss with respect to the nonblind minimum mean square error detector, outperforms other previously known blind systems, and is near-far resistant. A major advantage of the new structure is that it admits an adaptive implementation with quadratic (in the processing gain) computational complexity. This adaptive algorithm, which couples a recursive-least-squares estimation of the blocking matrix and subspace tracking techniques, achieves effective steady-state performance.  相似文献

For high-speed code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, interchip interference that is caused by multipath propagation becomes severe and cannot be ignored. Together with the multiple access interference due to nonideal conditions in CDMA, they become major obstacles to overall system performance. In this paper, both batch and adaptive algorithms based on linear prediction are proposed for joint blind equalization and multiuser detection for asynchronous CDMA systems. It is shown that the new methods are insensitive to estimation error of propagation delay or chip timing. In addition, the adaptive algorithm is computationally efficient. Simulation results show that the proposed methods are also near-far resistant and compare favorably to many existing methods  相似文献

Multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) has the ability to combat with frequency selective fading and antenna array can enhance the performance of system. The paper proposes a novel joint spatial-frequency blind multiuser detection for antenna array MC-CDMA based on linear constraint constant modulation algorithm (LCCMA), which has robust performance and can ensue the weight vectors to converge to that of the desired user. Simulation indicates the proposed algorithm has better bit error ratio (BER) performance than that of the traditional beamforming-based two-step algorithm.  相似文献

Statistical signal processing has been one of the key technologies in the development of wireless communication systems, especially for broadband multiuser communication systems which severely suffer from intersymbol interference (ISI) and multiple access interference (MAI). This article reviews batch processing algorithms for blind equalization using higher-order statistics for mitigation of the ISI induced by single-input, single-output channels as well as of both the ISI and MAI induced by multiple-input, multiple-output channels. In particular, this article reviews the typical inverse filter criteria (IFC) based algorithm, super-exponential algorithm, and constant modulus algorithm along with their relations, performance, and improvements. Several advanced applications of these algorithms are illustrated, including blind channel estimation, simultaneous estimation of multiple time delays, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) boost by blind maximum ratio combining, blind beamforming for source separation in multipath, and multiuser detection for direct sequence/code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems in multipath.  相似文献

We consider the problem of detecting synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) signals in multipath channels that result in multiple access interference (MAI). It is well known that such challenging conditions may create severe near-far situations in which the standard techniques of combined power control and temporal single-user RAKE receivers provide poor performance. To address the shortcomings of the RAKE receiver, multiple antenna receivers combining space-time processing with multiuser detection have been proposed in the literature. Specifically, a space-time detector based on minimizing the mean-squared output between the data stream and the linear combiner output has shown great potential in achieving good near-far performance with much less complexity than the optimum space-time multiuser detector. Moreover, this space-time minimum mean-squared error (ST-MMSE) multiuser detector has the additional advantage of being well suited for adaptive implementation. We propose novel trained and blind adaptive algorithms based on stochastic gradient techniques, which are shown to approximate the ST-MMSE solution without requiring knowledge of the channel. We show that these linear space-time detectors can potentially provide significant capacity enhancements (up to one order of magnitude) over the conventional temporal single-user RAKE receiver  相似文献

Space-time coding (STC) techniques, which combine antenna array signal processing and channel coding techniques, are very promising approaches to substantial capacity increase in wireless channels. Multiuser detection techniques are powerful signal processing methodologies for interference suppression in CDMA systems. In this paper, by drawing analogies between a synchronous CDMA system and an STC multiuser system, we study the applications of some multiuser detection methods to STC multiuser systems. Specifically, we show that the so-called “turbo multiuser detection” technique, which performs soft interference cancellation and decoding iteratively, can be applied to STC multiuser systems in flat-fading channels. An iterative multiuser receiver and its projection-based variants are developed for both the space-time block coding (STBC) system and the space-time trellis coding (STTC) system. During iterations, extrinsic information is computed and exchanged between a soft multiuser demodulator and a bank of MAP decoders, to achieve successively refined estimates of the users' signals. Computer simulations demonstrate that the proposed iterative receiver techniques provide significant performance improvement over conventional noniterative methods in both single-user and multiuser STC systems. This paper proposes a suboptimal receiver for joint spatial-temporal filtering and multiuser detection in mobile radio communications using single carrier signaling. The proposed receiver is a reasonable approximation of the maximum likelihood (ML) based optimal receiver described in the present paper. A cascaded connection of an adaptive array antenna and an ML multiuser sequence estimator is the basis of the proposed receiver. The major advantages of the proposed receiver over conventional adaptive array antennas are: (1) delayed path components of desired signals can be effectively combined; (2) interference signals exceeding the degree of freedom; and (3) those having the same incident angle as that of desired path components can both be suppressed. The proposed receiver does not require prohibitively large computational complexity. Results of computer simulations presented in this paper show that the proposed receiver exhibits excellent performance even in severe multipath fading environments  相似文献
