In this article it is investigated how the hole extraction layer (HEL) influence the charge recombination and performance in half tin and half lead (FASn0.5Pb0.5I3) based solar cells (HPSCs). FASn0.5Pb0.5I3 film grown on PEDOT:PSS displays a large number of pin‐holes and open grain boundaries, resulting in a high defect density and shunts in the perovskite film causing significant bulk and interfacial charge recombination in the HPSCs. By contrast, FASn0.5Pb0.5I3 films grown on PCP‐Na, an anionic conjugated polymer, show compact and pin‐hole free morphology over a large area, which effectively eliminates the shunts and trap states. Moreover, PCP‐Na is characterized by a higher work function, which determines a favorable energy alignment at the anode interface, enhancing the charge extraction. Consequently, both the interfacial and bulk charge recombination in devices using PCP‐Na HEL are considerably reduced giving rise to an overall improvement of all the device parameters. The HPSCs fabricated with this HEL display power conversion efficiency up to 16.27%, which is 40% higher than the efficiency of the control devices using PEDOT:PSS HEL (11.60%). Furthermore, PCP‐Na as HEL offers superior performance in larger area devices compared to PEDOT:PSS. 相似文献

CH3NH3PbI3 is one of the promising light sensitizers for perovskite photovoltaic cells, but a thick layer is required to enhance light absorption in the long‐wavelength regime ranging from PbI2 absorption edge (500 nm) to its optical band‐gap edge (780 nm) in visible light. Meanwhile, the thick perovskite layer suppresses visible‐light absorption in the short wavelengths below 500 nm and charge extraction capability of electron–hole pairs produced upon light absorption. Herein, we find that a new light scattering layer with the mixed cavities of sizes in 100 and 200 nm between transparent fluorine‐doped tin oxide and mesoporous titanium dioxide electron transport layer enables full absorption of short‐wavelength photons (λ < 500 nm) to the perovskite along with enhanced absorption of long‐wavelength photons (500 nm < λ < 780 nm). Moreover, the light‐driven electric field is proven to allow efficient charge extraction upon light absorption, thereby leading to the increased photocurrent density as well as the fill factor prompted by the slow recombination rate. Additionally, the photocurrent density of the cell with a light scattering layer of mixed cavities is stabilized due to suppressed charge accumulation. Consequently, this work provides a new route to realize broadband light harvesting of visible light for high‐performance perovskite photovoltaic cells. 相似文献

High‐quality pinhole‐free perovskite film with optimal crystalline morphology is critical for achieving high‐efficiency and high‐stability perovskite solar cells (PSCs). In this study, a p‐type π‐conjugated polymer poly[(2,6‐(4,8‐bis(5‐(2‐ethylhexyl) thiophen‐2‐yl)‐benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b′] dithiophene))‐alt‐(5,5‐(1′,3′‐di‐2‐thienyl‐5′,7′‐bis(2‐ethylhexyl) benzo[1′,2′‐c:4′,5′‐c′] dithiophene‐4,8‐dione))] (PBDB‐T) is introduced into chlorobenzene to form a facile and effective template‐agent during the anti‐solvent process of perovskite film formation. The π‐conjugated polymer PBDB‐T is found to trigger a heterogeneous nucleation over the perovskite precursor film and passivate the trap states of the mixed perovskite film through the formation of Lewis adducts between lead and oxygen atom in PBDB‐T. The p‐type semiconducting and hydrophobic PBDB‐T polymer fills in the perovskite grain boundaries to improve charge transfer for better conductivity and prevent moisture invasion into the perovskite active layers. Consequently, the PSCs with PBDB‐T modified anti‐solvent processing leads to a high‐efficiency close to 20%, and the devices show excellent stability, retaining about 90% of the initial power conversion efficiency after 150 d storage in dry air. 相似文献

Crystal orientation has a great impact on the properties of perovskite films and the resultant device performance. Up to now, the exquisite control of crystal orientation (the preferred crystallographic planes and the crystal stacking mode with respect to the particular planes) in mixed‐cation perovskites has received limited success, and the underlying mechanism that governs device performance is still not clear. Here, a thermodynamically favored crystal orientation in formamidinium/methylammonium (FA/MA) mixed‐cation perovskites is finely tuned by composition engineering. Density functional theory calculations reveal that the FA/MA ratio affects the surface energy of the mixed perovskites, leading to the variation of preferential orientation consequently. The preferable growth along the (001) crystal plane, when lying parallel to the substrates, affects their charge transportation and collection properties. Under the optimized condition, the mixed‐cation perovskite (FA1–x MAx PbI2.87Br0.13 (Cl)) solar cells deliver a champion power conversion efficiency over 21%, with a certified efficiency of 20.50 ± 0.50%. The present work not only provides a vital step in understanding the intrinsic properties of mixed‐cation perovskites but also lays the foundation for further investigation and application in perovskite optoelectronics. 相似文献

A gradient heterosturcture is one of the basic methods to control the charge flow in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, a classical route for gradient heterosturctures is based on the diffusion technique, in which the guest ions gradually diffuse into the films from a concentrated source of dopants. The gradient heterosturcture is only accessible to the top side, and may be time consuming and costly. Here, the “intolerant” n‐type heteroatoms (Sb3+, In3+) with mismatched cation sizes and charge states can spontaneously enrich two sides of perovskite thin films. The dopants at specific sides can be extracted by a typical hole‐transport layer. Theoretical calculations and experimental observations both indicate that the optimized charge management can be attributed to the tailored band structure and interfacial electronic hybridization, which promote charge separation and collection. The strategy enables the fabrication of PSCs with a spontaneous graded heterojunction showing high efficiency. A champion device based on Sb3+ doped film shows a stabilized power‐conversion efficiency of 21.04% with a high fill factor of 0.84 and small hysteresis. 相似文献

Halide perovskite colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) have recently emerged as a promising candidate for CQD photovoltaics due to their superior optoelectronic properties to conventional chalcogenides CQDs. However, the low charge separation efficiency due to quantum confinement still remains a critical obstacle toward higher‐performance perovskite CQD photovoltaics. Available strategies employed in the conventional CQD devices to enhance the carrier separation, such as the design of type‐Ⅱ core–shell structure and versatile surface modification to tune the electronic properties, are still not applicable to the perovskite CQD system owing to the difficulty in modulating surface ligands and structural integrity. Herein, a facile strategy that takes advantage of conjugated small molecules that provide an additional driving force for effective charge separation in perovskite CQD solar cells is developed. The resulting perovskite CQD solar cell shows a power conversion efficiency approaching 13% with an open‐circuit voltage of 1.10 V, short‐circuit current density of 15.4 mA cm?2, and fill factor of 74.8%, demonstrating the strong potential of this strategy toward achieving high‐performance perovskite CQD solar cells. 相似文献

Mixed perovskites have achieved substantial successes in boosting solar cell efficiency, but the complicated perovskite crystal formation pathway remains mysterious. Here, the detailed crystallization process of mixed perovskites (FA0.83MA0.17Pb(I0.83Br0.17)3) during spin‐coating is revealed by in situ grazing‐incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering measurements, and three phase‐formation stages are identified: I) precursor solution; II) hexagonal δ‐phase (2H); and III) complex phases including hexagonal polytypes (4H, 6H), MAI–PbI2–DMSO intermediate phases, and perovskite α‐phase. The correlated device performance and ex situ characterizations suggest the existence of an “annealing window” covering the duration of stage II. The spin‐coated film should be annealed within the annealing window to avoid the formation of hexagonal polytypes during the perovskite crystallization process, thus achieving a good device performance. Remarkably, the crystallization pathway can be manipulated by incorporating Cs+ ions in mixed perovskites. Combined with density functional theory calculations, the perovskite system with sufficient Cs+ will bypass the formation of secondary phases in stage III by promoting the formation of α‐phase both kinetically and thermodynamically, thereby significantly extending the annealing window. This study provides underlying reasons of the time sensitivity of fabricating mixed‐perovskite devices and insightful guidelines for manipulating the perovskite crystallization pathways toward higher performance. 相似文献

Organic–inorganic lead halide perovskite solar cells (PVSCs), as a competing technology with traditional inorganic solar cells, have now realized a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 22.1%. In PVSCs, interfacial carrier recombination is one of the dominant energy‐loss mechanisms, which also results in the simultaneous loss of potential efficiency. In this work, for planar inverted PVSCs, the carrier recombination is dominated by the dopant concentration in the p‐doped hole transport layers (HTLs), since the F4‐TCNQ dopant induces more charge traps and electronic transmission channels, thus leading to a decrease in open‐circuit voltages (VOC). This issue is efficiently overcome by inserting a thin insulating polymer layer (poly(methyl methacrylate) or polystyrene) as a passivation layer with an appropriate thickness, which allows for increases in the VOC without significantly sacrificing the fill factor. It is believed that the passivation layer attributes to the passivation of interfacial recombination and the suppression of current leakage at the perovskite/HTL interface. By manipulating this interfacial passivation technique, a high PCE of 20.3% is achieved without hysteresis. Consequently, this versatile interfacial passivation methodology is highly useful for further improving the performance of planar inverted PVSCs. 相似文献

With power conversion efficiencies now reaching 24.2%, the major factor limiting efficient electricity generation using perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is their long‐term stability. In particular, PSCs have demonstrated rapid degradation under illumination, the driving mechanism of which is yet to be understood. It is shown that elevated device temperature coupled with excess charge carriers due to constant illumination is the dominant force in the rapid degradation of encapsulated perovskite solar cells under illumination. Cooling the device to 20 °C and operating at the maximum power point improves the stability of CH3NH3PbI3 solar cells over 100× compared to operation under open circuit conditions at 60 °C. Light‐induced strain originating from photothermal‐induced expansion is also observed in CH3NH3PbI3, which excludes other light‐induced‐strain mechanisms. However, strain and electric field do not appear to play any role in the initial rapid degradation of CH3NH3PbI3 solar cells under illumination. It is revealed that the formation of additional recombination centers in PSCs facilitated by elevated temperature and excess charge carriers ultimately results in rapid light‐induced degradation. Guidance on the best methods for measuring the stability of PSCs is also given. 相似文献

Interface strains and lattice distortion are inevitable issues during perovskite crystallization. Silane as a coupling agent is a popular connector to enhance the compatibility between inorganic and organic materials in semiconductor devices. Herein, a protonated amine silane coupling agent (PASCA-Br) interlayer between TiO2 and perovskite layers is adopted to directionally grasp both of them by forming the structural component of a lattice unit. The pillowy alkyl ammonium bromide terminals at the upper side of the interlayer provide well-matched growth sites for the perovskite, leading to mitigated interface strain and ensuing lattice distortion; meanwhile, its superior chemical compatibility presents an ideal effect on healing the under-coordinated Pb atoms and halogen vacancies of bare perovskite crystals. The PASCA-Br interlayer also serves as a mechanical buffer layer, inducing less cracked perovskite film when bending. The developed molecular-level flexible interlayer provides a promising interfacial engineering for perovskite solar cells and their flexible application. 相似文献

In hybrid organic–inorganic lead halide perovskite solar cells, the energy loss is strongly associated with nonradiative recombination in the perovskite layer and at the cell interfaces. Here, a simple but effective strategy is developed to improve the cell performance of perovskite solar cells via the combination of internal doping by a ferroelectric polymer and external control by an electric field. A group of polarized ferroelectric (PFE) polymers are doped into the methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) layer and/or inserted between the perovskite and the hole‐transporting layers to enhance the build‐in field (BIF), improve the crystallization of MAPbI3, and regulate the nonradiative recombination in perovskite solar cells. The PFE polymer‐doped MAPbI3 shows an orderly arrangement of MA+ cations, resulting in a preferred growth orientation of polycrystalline perovskite films with reduced trap states. In addition, the BIF is enhanced by the widened depletion region in the device. As an interfacial dipole layer, the PFE polymer plays a critical role in increasing the BIF. This combined effect leads to a substantial reduction in voltage loss of 0.14 V due to the efficient suppression of nonradiative recombination. Consequently, the resulting perovskite solar cells present a power conversion efficiency of 21.38% with a high open‐circuit voltage of 1.14 V. 相似文献

Solar cell generates electrical energy from light one via pulling excited carrier away under built‐in asymmetry. Doped semiconductor with antireflection layer is general strategy to achieve this including crystalline silicon (c‐Si) solar cell. However, loss of extra energy beyond band gap and light reflection in particular wavelength range is known to hinder the efficiency of c‐Si cell. Here, it is found that part of short wavelength sunlight can be converted into polarization electrical field, which strengthens asymmetry in organic‐c‐Si heterojunction solar cell through molecule alignment process. The light harvested by organometal trihalide perovskite nanoparticles (NPs) induces molecular alignment on a conducting polymer, which generates positive electrical surface field. Furthermore, a “field‐effect solar cell” is successfully developed and implemented by combining perovskite NPs with organic/c‐Si heterojunction associating with light‐induced molecule alignment, which achieves an efficiency of 14.3%. In comparison, the device with the analogous structure without perovskite NPs only exhibits an efficiency of 12.7%. This finding provides a novel concept to design solar cell by sacrificing part of sunlight to provide “extra” asymmetrical field continuously as to drive photogenerated carrier toward respective contacts under direct sunlight. Moreover, it also points out a method to combine promising perovskite material with c‐Si solar cell. 相似文献

This work reports on the preparation of semitransparent perovskite solar cells. The cells transparency is achieved through a unique wet deposition technique that creates perovskite grids with various dimensions. The perovskite grid is deposited on a mesoporous TiO2 layer, followed by hole transport material deposition and evaporation of a semitransparent gold film. Control of the transparency of the solar cells is achieved by changing the perovskite solution concentration and the mesh openings. The semitransparent cells demonstrate 20–70% transparency with a power conversion efficiency of 5% at 20% transparency. This is the first demonstration of the possibility to create a controlled perovskite pattern using a direct mesh‐assisted assembly deposition method for fabrication of a semitransparent perovskite‐based solar cell. 相似文献
