Process improvement is critical to commercial success in VLSI fabrication, especially during ramp-up. This paper investigates one of the factors-process noise-that drives the success of process improvement. Split-lot controlled experiments are vulnerable to confounding by experimental noise, caused by process variability. Fabs with low noise levels have a higher potential for learning (and hence improving their production processes) than high noise fabs. Detailed probe yield data from five semiconductor fabs were examined to estimate process noise levels. A bootstrap simulation was used to estimate the error rates of identical controlled experiments conducted in each fab. Absolute noise levels were high for all but the best fabs, leading to lost learning. The magnitude of lost learning is estimated numerically; it ranges from ten percent to above one hundred percent of the theoretically possible learning in an experiment. In some cases, experiments are little better than coin flipping. Standard statistical methods are either expensive or ineffective for dealing with these high noise levels. We review a model of computation used in industrial practice in signal processing software environments and experimentally and other contexts. We give this model the name “dataflow process networks,” and study its formal properties as well as its utility as a basis for programming language design. Variants of this model are used in commercial visual programming systems such as SPW from the Alta Group of Cadence (formerly Comdisco Systems), COSSAP from Synopsys (formerly Cadis), the DSP Station from Mentor Graphics, and Hypersignal from Hyperception. They are also used in research software such as Khoros from the University of New Mexico and Ptolemy from the University of California at Berkeley, among many others. Dataflow process networks are shown to be a special case of Kahn process networks, a model of computation where a number of concurrent processes communicate through unidirectional FIFO channels, where writes to the channel are nonblocking, and reads are blocking. In dataflow process networks, each process consists of repeated “firings” of a dataflow “actor.” An actor defines a (often functional) quantum of computation. By dividing processes into actor firings, the considerable overhead of context switching incurred in most implementations of Kahn process networks is avoided. We relate dataflow process networks to other dataflow models, including those used in dataflow machines, such as static dataflow and the tagged-token model. We also relate dataflow process networks to functional languages such as Haskell, and show that modern language concepts such as higher-order functions and polymorphism can be used effectively in dataflow process networks. 针对生物反应过程中许多关键参量难以在线检测的难题,提出了一种改进的高斯过程回归建模方法。由于传统高斯过程的均值函数不易确定,从而简单预置为零,导致模型对数据的解释性不够完全的缺点。改进的方法是利用一种组合基函数来确定高斯过程回归模型的一个非零均值函数,基函数的选取是通过高斯过程建立多项式回归噪声模型的方式推导而出,最后进行软测量模型的预测输出。基于氨基酸类典型菌种L-赖氨酸反应过程关键生物量参数预测的试验研究表明:与传统的高斯过程回归模型和支持向量机相比,改进的高斯过程回归模型具有更好的预测精度和泛化能力,能很好的跟踪预测值的变化趋势。  相似文献

Process modeling tools, such as the integrated definition (IDEF) methodology, allow for a systematic representation of processes in manufacturing, product development, and service applications. Most of the process modeling methodologies are based on informal notation, lack mathematical rigor, and are static and qualitative, and thus can be difficult to use for analysis. In this paper, a new analysis approach for process models based on signed directed graphs (SDGs) and fuzzy sets is presented. A membership function of fuzzy sets quantifies and transforms incomplete and ambiguous information of process variables into an SDG qualitative model. The effectiveness of the approach is illustrated with an industrial example. The architecture of an intelligent system for qualitative/quantitative analysis of process models is presented  相似文献
