Using two receive antennas at a mobile phone improves downlink performance. But because of the correlation of the two antennas, using one of them to transmit in the uplink is a good performance-complexity tradeoff. This creates an interesting scenario of asymmetric channel state information at the transmitter in a time division duplex system, where the downlink channel coefficients related to one of the two receive antennas can be learned by the base station from the uplink training due to reciprocity. We provide near optimal transmitter design by obtaining upper and lower bounds of the downlink ergodic capacity.  相似文献

The quality of channel state information (CSI) affects the performance of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems which employ multi-elements antenna arrays at both the transmitter and the receiver. In a time division duplex (TDD) systems, the CSI for downlink can be obtained from uplink channel using reciprocity principal. However, the performance of a MIMO system can be degraded due to channel impairments especially in fast fading scenarios when the CSI obtained from uplink is used for downlink transmission. In this paper, we study performance of autoregressive (AR) modeling based MIMO channel prediction under varying channel propagation conditions (mobile speed, multipath number and angle spread) and prediction filter order. Our simulation results show that using the predicted CSI for downlink provides capacity improvement compared to conventional method.  相似文献

The performance of massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is limited by pilot contamination. To reduce the pilot contamination, uplink and downlink precoding algorithms are put forward based on interference alignment criterion. In the uplink receiving processing, the target function aligns the pilot contamination and the interference signals to the same null space and acquires the maximal space degree of the desired signals. The uplink receiving precoding matrix is solved on maximal signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) criterion considering the impact of the pilot contamination on channel estimations. The uplink receiving precoding matrix is used as the downlink transmitting precoding matrix. Exploiting the channel reciprocity, it is proved that, if the uplink receiving precoding matrix achieves maximal S1NR, the identical precoding matrix can be used in the downlink transmission and acquires maximal signal to leakage plus noise ratio (SLNR). Simulations show that the spectrum efficiency of the proposed algorithm can reach about 1.5 times higher than that of popular matched filtering (MF) precoding algorithm, and about 1.1 times higher than multi-cell minimum mean square error (MMSE) precoding algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithm can be improved approximately linearly with the increasing of the number of antennas.  相似文献

We discuss a prefiltering technique for interference mitigation in the downlink of a time division duplex (TDD) multicarrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) system. The base station (BS) is equipped with multiple transmit antennas, and channel state information (CSI) is obtained at the transmitter side by exploiting the channel reciprocity between uplink and downlink transmissions. The prefiltering coefficients are designed so as to minimize a proper cost function that depends on the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratios (SINRs) at the mobile terminals (MTs). The resulting scheme allows using a simple despreading receiver, thereby eliminating the need for channel estimation and equalization. Numerical results show the advantages of the proposed scheme over some existing solutions.  相似文献

Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems can be leveraged to increase capacity in fading channels. Especially in multiuser downlink communication systems, it has been shown that knowledge of channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) is critical to leverage the capacity gain available from multiple antennas. When duplexing is performed using time division, CSIT can often be successfully obtained when channel reciprocity is available. CSIT acquisition, however, is much more difficult in frequency division duplexing. Sending feedback on the uplink has been shown to be a powerful technique to improve downlink performance in single user MIMO systems. The basic idea is to restrict the CSIT to a B bit codebook so that the mobiles can easily transmit these bits on the uplink. In this paper, we consider the multiuser downlink model with unitary precoding when there is a codebook consisting of 2B unitary matrices that the precoder is restricted to lie in. This codebook is designed offline and known to both the basestation and all users. Each user sends back signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR) information along with binary feedback about the unitary precoder. Based on the CSIT received on the uplink, the basestation selects one of the unitary matrices in the codebook to maximize the sum-rate. For this set-up, we first analyze the sum-rate performance of the unitary precoding scheme. We then show that the codebook of unitary precoders represents a collection of points in a special kind of manifold and show how the achievable sum-rate performance relates to the minimum distance of the codebook points in this space. Finally, we present a framework for constructing the codebook to maximize this minimum distance. Monte Carlo simulation results are presented to show the sum-rate performance of the proposed codebook design.  相似文献

本文基于最大信号噪声比准则(MSNR,Maximum Signal Noise Ratio)提出一种新的下行波束形成方法,即根据天线收发的互易性原理,通过上行波束形成得到的上行天线阵列矢量,变换而得到下行天线阵列矢量,再通过移动端Rake接收机的合作,反馈回每一径的衰落系数,考虑到存在传输和处理时延并且在此时间内信道有明显变化时,反馈的衰落系数存在误差。因此,本文采用了信道预测的方法,估计即时衰落系数,这样求得期望信号的相关矩阵,计算相应的最大广义特征值所对应的特征矢量,进行下行波束形成。  相似文献

This paper addresses the problem of channel estimation in a multiuser multi-cell wireless communications system in which the base station (BS) is equipped with a very large number of antennas (also referred to as “massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)”). We consider a time-division duplexing (TDD) scheme, in which reciprocity between the uplink and downlink channels can be assumed. Channel estimation is essential for downlink beamforming in massive MIMO, nevertheless, the pilot contamination effect hinders accurate channel estimation, which leads to overall performance degradation. Benefitted from the asymptotic orthogonality between signal and interference subspaces for non-overlapping angle-of arrivals (AOAs) in the large-scale antenna system, we propose a multiple signals classification (MUSIC) based channel estimation algorithm during the uplink transmission. Analytical and numerical results verify complete pilot decontamination and the effectiveness of the proposed channel estimation algorithm in the multiuser multi-cell massive MIMO system.  相似文献

In a frequency division duplex system, a transmitter adaptive antenna array can potentially improve the performance of a wireless downlink, but because the uplink and downlink channels have different wavelengths, and, therefore, different responses, direct downlink adaptation based on channel estimates of the uplink is generally not feasible. Instead, there has been some interest in adaptations that require only the second-order statistics of the uplink and downlink to be similar. These algorithms derive adaptive weights from the covariance of the received signal to apply to a downlink transmitter array. We make two contributions to this area. First, we introduce an array configuration employing M+1 elements with log-periodic spacing that comprises two overlapping subarrays, each with M elements, that are scaled versions of each other, with the scale factor equal to the ratio of the uplink wavelength to the downlink wavelength. This array has identical beampatterns at the two wavelengths, thus helping to fulfill the requirement that the uplink and downlink second-order statistics be the same. Second, we demonstrate that obtaining a good estimate of the uplink covariance matrix is not essential for the successful operation of the adaptive scheme. 基于随机信号流的密钥生成方案会在合法发送方发送随机信号时泄露部分共享随机源信息导致密钥安全性和可达密钥速率较低。针对此问题,该文提出一种基于多随机信号流的密钥生成方案。首先,发送方利用信道互易性和上行导频估计下行信道,然后发送方在各天线上发送相互独立的随机信号流。由于窃听者难以准确估计所有随机信号流,因此难以窃取接收方每根天线接收到的叠加随机信号,而发送方则可根据估计的下行信道和自身发送的随机信号流计算出接收方各天线的接收信号。因此,可以将接收天线上的叠加随机信号作为共享随机源提取密钥。进一步地,该文还推导了该方案的可达密钥速率和共享随机源的互信息量表达式,并分析了两者间的关系以及对密钥安全性的影响。最后,通过仿真验证了该方案的有效性,仿真结果表明该方案能够有效降低窃听者观察到的共享随机源互信息,从而提升可达密钥速率及密钥安全性。  相似文献

本文针对多用户毫米波多输入多输出(Multiple Input Multiple Output,MIMO)系统,首次提出了分离子阵列MIMO混合模数预编码架构毫米波系统的一种模拟接收方案。将最大化和速率求解混合模数预编码的三元联合优化问题分成模拟和数字两部分求解,进一步提出了基于信道互易性的混合模数预编码算法。该算法通过最大化下行各个用户和上行各个子阵列的接收信干噪比分别求解模拟合并矢量和模拟预编码矢量;优化模拟部分后,设计发射端数字预编码器消除多用户数据流之间的干扰。数值仿真表明所提算法收敛速度快,且可获得接近最优纯数字预编码算法的性能。   相似文献

In this paper, optimized transmit schemes for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with simplified receivers are proposed for the downlink of high-speed wireless communication systems. In these systems, MIMO signal preprocessing is performed at the transmitter or base station with the receiver at the mobile station having a simplified structure that requires only limited signal processing. An important potential application for our transmit MIMO techniques is in the downlink of high-speed wireless communication systems with Vertical Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) or a similar technique utilized in the uplink, creating a high-speed duplex system with a simplified mobile station transceiver structure. Two approaches are introduced and these depend on whether or not receive diversity is employed at the receiver. Both methods require that channel state information be available at the transmitter. In addition, some important associated issues such as peak-to-average power ratio requirements at the transmitter and robustness to downlink channel errors are also investigated and various solutions are proposed. Simulation results are provided and these show that performance improvement can be achieved when compared with other MIMO transmit schemes.  相似文献

TD-LTE系统中的波束成形(Beam Forming)会受到收、发天线不对称性的影响。TD-LTE-Advanced(TD-LTE-A)系统中使用上行多天线发送可以解决天线不对称性的问题,因此需要对其分析以优化Beam Forming的性能。通过对上行多天线的信道状态信息(CSI)做特征值(SVD)分解,指出了Beam Forming对下行信噪比(SNR)的改善。针对Beam Forming模式下SNR和链路质量指示(CQI)的差异,提出了一种优化链路自适应的方法。数值仿真验证了优化后的TD-LTE-A相比TD-LTE的Beam Forming吞吐率最大提高了24%,其结论对商用TD-LTE网升级到TD-LTE-A具有显著价值。  相似文献

A green cellular technology is proposed to optimize the energy and spectrum resources. Such optimization will require perfect channel state information at the transmitting base station. However, reporting the channel status of the entire bandwidth requires huge undesirable feedback overhead. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to optimize the energy and bandwidth resources while maintaining quality-of-service at the downlink when a partial feedback is considered. In this paper, a modified downlink scheduler based on a Packet Prediction Mechanism (PPM) is conducted at the eNodeB to optimize the energy and spectrum resources. On the user equipment side, a partial channel feedback scheme based on an adaptive feedback threshold is developed. A primary concern of this feedback scheme is to reduce the uplink signaling overhead without a substantial loss in downlink performances. Finally, the downlink packet scheduling and the partial feedback are jointly evaluated to further enhance the system performance. Based on a system-level simulation results, the proposed energy-efficient scheduling with partial feedback has achieved an improvement in EE of up to 79% compared to the PPM scheduler. Besides, it minimizes the degradation caused by the partial channel quality indicator feedback. Thus, the proposed two-sided algorithm gives the best tradeoff between uplink and downlink performances.  相似文献

A clustered multihop cellular network (CMCN) with virtual cells has been proposed to achieve the characteristics of macrocell/microcell hierarchically overlaid architecture by applying clustering techniques. As a complement to the traditional cellular networks, CMCN is able to incorporate the flexibility of ad hoc networks by allowing multihop transmission. In this paper, we first propose to use dedicated information ports (DIPs) as clusterheads for CMCN; then we analyze the performance of fixed channel assignment (FCA) for downlink transmission in CMCN. Two multi-dimensional Markov chain models are developed to study the call blocking probability. Due to the nature of multihop transmission in CMCN, channel assignment for uplink and downlink transmission is different and unbalanced. We then propose an asymmetric FCA (AFCA) for uplink and downlink transmission in CMCN. By making use of the proposed AFCA for uplink and downlink transmission, we can reduce the call blocking probability significantly as compared with the FCA for traditional single-hop cellular networks. The salient contribution is that the proposed CMCN with AFCA scheme can increase the spectrum efficiency and the system capacity by introducing the structure of CMCN with DIPs for virtual microcells.  相似文献
