The boundary mesh of the casting model was determined by direct calculation on the triangular facets extracted from the STL file of the 3D model. Then the inner and outer grids of the model were identified by the algorithm in which we named Inner Seed Grid Method. Finally, a program to automatically generate a 3D FDM mesh was compiled. In the paper, a method named Triangle Contraction Search Method (TCSM) was put forward to ensure not losing the boundary grids; while an algorithm to search inner seed grids to identify inner/outer grids of the casting model was also brought forward. Solidification and fluid flow analysis using computer simulation is a current common practice. There is also a high demand for thermal stress analysis in the casting process because casting engineers want to control the defects related to thermal stresses, such as large deformation and crack generation during casting. The riser system is an essential part of preventing the shrinkage defects in the casting process, and it has a great influence on thermal phenomena. The analysis domain is dramatically expanded by attaching the riser system to a casting product due to its large volume, and it makes FEM mesh generation difficult. However, it is difficult to study and solve the above proposed problem caused by riser system using traditional analysis methods which use single numerical method such as FEM or FDM. In this paper, some research information is presented on the effects of the riser system on thermal stress analysis using a FDM/FEM hybrid method in the casting process simulation. 采用先进的BP技术和仿生CAD建模进行新型生物活性骨制造的设计思想,开发了新型快速制造系统—气压式熔融沉积快速成型机。文章介绍了BP技术中FDM的基本工作原理及其特点,随后就所开发的AJS系统的基本结构、加工工艺以及各项工艺参数对成型精度的影响等方面做了进一步说明。研究证明,以气压作为挤压动力有效可行,系统工作稳定,加工精度高,不仅可以完成传统FDM的加工任务,而且通过自行研发的改性生物材料,还可以快速成型出人工骨的三维立体模型,是将模具制造和生物技术相结合的曲型案例。 相似文献

A new technique for thermal field simulation of castings using a non-uniform elements method based on Finite Difference Method (FDM) is proposed. It is an improvement on the uniform elements method, which is now used in our modelling software package. In this new method, the elements in the casting/mould system are classified into two types—coarse and fine. Assumptions and principles used to distinguish coarse and fine meshes, together with the flow chart of the algorithm and a 2-D example, are given. 3-D FDM heat conductive equations of two types of mesh are deduced. The technique has been applied in practical simulation and an example is presented. Calculated results are in good accordance with practical production and those from the uniform elements method, but computing time is greatly shortened. So this non-uniform elements method has good prospects for future application and can be of benefit to the Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) technology used in the foundry industry. 相似文献
