An important aspect of network management is fault management, which involves, detecting, locating, isolating, correcting and adapting to faults in the network. We study modeling of communication network protocol and fault detection, identification and localization in the discrete event system diagnosis framework. As an illustration of the approach, normal and faulty behavior of the X.25 network protocol is modeled as a finite state machine. This modeling formalism allows the utilization of discrete event system analysis for the detection and diagnosis of faults. Network domains have become more and more advanced in terms of their size, complexity and the level of heterogeneity. Comprehensive fault management is the most significant challenge in network management. Fault management can help increase the availability of the network by quickly identifying the faults and then, proactively, start the recovery process. Current centralized configured network management systems suffer from problems such as insufficient scalability, availability and flexibility as networks become more distributed. Mobile agents (MAs), with integral intelligence, can present a reasonable new technology that will help to achieve distributed management, several researchers have embraced these approaches. In this paper, we introduce a general analytical model for network management client/server (CS) and MA paradigms. We express how to build up an analytical framework, which can be used to quantitatively assess the performances of the MA and CS paradigms under different scenarios. We present some numerical and experimental results that demonstrate the applicability of our proposed framework, which will be based on a combination of MA and CS schemes called Adaptive Intelligent Mobile Agent.  相似文献

The Telecommunication Management Network standard (ITU-T M.3010), the Network Magagement Forum OMNIPoint program, and many related developments are summarized. TMN and OMNIPoint are presented as a means to achieve integrated network management in the telecommunications industry by calling for all management systems to include an interoperable interface which permits each system to be integrated into a larger management hierarchy. By means of such interfaces, hierarchical integration of management systems can be achieved within the administration of a single service provider. Interoperable interfaces also make possible the interconnection of multiple service providers and the connection of customer to service provider, resulting in the possibility of industry wide integration of management infrastructures at all levels.  相似文献

随着信息时代的进步,网络环境也随之日益复杂化,为了确保网络中服务器和应用的高可靠性,现在的网络骨干网中都设置了后备线路,一方面能够有效避免由于上层服务中断所造成的运营损失;另一方面能够在网络流量过大时对流量的负载平衡进行整合.当网络发生故障或问题时,将对企业客户造成无法估量的损失,因此,本文提出了一种基于距离向量路由协议的网络故障管理系统,以确保骨干网络的高可靠性和高可用性,为了提高系统的可扩展性与实用性,本文基于plug-and-play的思想,使得该系统只需被动监控骨干网络中的任一路由器即可实现对故障发生的可疑位置的定位.  相似文献

In this paper, we explore the constraints of a new problem: that of coordinating network troubleshooting among peer administrative domains and untrusted observers. Our approach permits any entity to report problems, whether it is a Network Operations Center (NOC), end-user, or application. Our goals are to define the inter-domain coordination problem clearly, and to develop an architecture which allows observers to report problems and receive timely feedback, regardless of their own locations and identities. By automating this process, we also relieve human bottlenecks at help desks and NOCs whenever possible. We present a troubleshooting approach for coordinating problem diagnosis, and describe Global Distributed Troubleshooting (GDT), a distributed protocol which realizes this approach. We show through simulation that GDT scales well as the number of observers and problems grows.  相似文献

In Internet service fault management based on active probing, uncertainty and noises will affect service fault management. In order to reduce the impact, challenges of Internet service fault management are analyzed in this paper. Bipartite Bayesian network is chosen to model the dependency relationship between faults and probes, binary symmetric channel is chosen to model noises, and a service fault management approach using active probing is proposed for such an environment. This approach is composed of two phases: fault detection and fault diagnosis. In first phase, we propose a greedy approximation probe selection algorithm (GAPSA), which selects a minimal set of probes while remaining a high probability of fault detection. In second phase, we propose a fault diagnosis probe selection algorithm (FDPSA), which selects probes to obtain more system information based on the symptoms observed in previous phase. To deal with dynamic fault set caused by fault recovery mechanism, we propose a hypothesis inference algorithm based on fault persistent time statistic (FPTS). Simulation results prove the validity and efficiency of our approach.  相似文献

TMN规范是电信管理网的主流技术,其信息模型的定义和描述是TMN技术标准的核心,具体实现已有多种方式,但主要是基于C或C++,难以实现跨平台移植。结合JDMK给出了TMN信息模型的一种新的实现方式。JDMK具有集中分布的体系结构,不仅能实现完全面向对象和真正的对象分布,不能充分利用java的特点,并且有良好的扩充性和移植性。  相似文献
