Chemical interactions in the primed aluminium/adhesive interphase were examined using IR reflectance spectroscopy. For the case of epoxy primers and polyurethane adhesives, a new absorption was detected and was attributed to an isocyanate group, formed by reaction between the epoxide primer and the polyurethane adhesive. When polyurethane adhesive was applied on a polyurethane primer, such a primer-adhesive interaction was not noticed.  相似文献

Surfaces of commercial sheet molded composite (SMC) materials have been characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) before and after various surface treatments. Surface treatments included cleaning with methylene chloride, abrasion using methylene chloride and a Scotch Brite ® abrasive pad, and application of an isocyanate primer. The pretreated SMC materials were bonded using a polyurethane adhesive. Bonded coupons were tested under a variety of conditions using the lap shear technique. Lap shear test results for specimens bonded following the abrasion and primer pretreatment indicated a favorable fracture force and mode of failure. Surface analysis studies were used to characterize the pretreated and failed surfaces.  相似文献

It can be concluded by the study of UV primer formulations on sheet molding compound (SMC) substrates that all studied formulation parameters affect adhesion. Moreover, the dual cure approach can result in acceptable adhesion of UV primers on SMC substrates if the coating procedure and composition are well designed. Adhesion of UV cure primers as determined by the cross-cut test is significantly improved in formulations containing solvent. This is a result of enhanced wetting and interaction of the solvent with the SMC substrate, confirmed by contact angle and gravimetric swelling studies. Furthermore, sanded SMC surfaces demonstrated superior UV primer adhesion. This results from the increased surface area of the topography, confirmed by CSLM and the exposure of more oxygen moieties such as pigments and silanols at the air-substrate interface as confirmed by AFM and XPS. The UV films have a higher modulus with increasing resin functionality and resulting cross-link density which correlated with reduced adhesion in formulations without an added isocyanate functional UV monomer. This indicates that cure shrinkage may play a role in the adhesion of UV cure primers and will be investigated further. Also, the added adhesion that an isocyanate functional UV monomer provides results in a significant increase in the glass transition temperature (Tg) giving a glassier film at room temperature.  相似文献

It has been determined that when a polyacrylic acid [p(AA)] macromolecule primer is used in polyurethane (PU)/p(AA)/FPL-etched aluminum joint systems, it interacts preferentially both with the hydrated Al2O3 or aluminum hydroxide adherend surface through the formation of hydrogen bonds and with the isocyanate groups in the PU adhesive to yield polymer-to-polymer chemical bonding. This chemical crosslinking between the hydrated adherend and the polymeric adhesive acts significantly to promote interfacial adhesive bonds. It appears that a near monolayer of p(AA) is enough to occupy all the available functional groups at the PU and aluminum surface sites. This arrangement plays a key role in improving the adhesion durability of the joint system upon exposure to a hot NaOH solution. It was also determined that the presence of excessive carboxylic acid groups resulting from the use of a thick p(AA) layer caused gel-formation-induced adhesion failures; namely, the locus of failure of the joint after exposure was clearly identified to be cohesive failure in the primer.  相似文献

采用不同改性的短油度醇酸树脂作甲组分,异氰酸酯预聚物作乙组分,配制双组分聚氨酯涂料,探讨甲组分对双组分聚氨酯涂料性能的影响。结果表明,椰子油改性短油度醇酸树脂,颜色水白、耐黄变性能和丰满度好,可以作为高档的亮光清面漆、耐黄变的面漆用树脂;蓖麻油改性短油度醇酸树脂,颜色较深、丰满度较好、干燥速度慢及柔韧性好,可以作为普通的亮光面漆用树脂;豆油改性短油度醇酸树脂,干燥速度较快,应用于底漆和哑光面漆;合成脂肪酸改性短油度醇酸树脂,颜色水白、流平好、干燥速度慢、丰满度高及硬度高,可以作为高档的亮光面漆用树脂。  相似文献
