Monitoring a fraction arises in many manufacturing applications and also in service applications. The traditional p‐chart is easy to use and design but is difficult to achieve the desired false alarm rate. We propose a two‐sided CUSUM Arcsine method that achieves both large and small desired false alarm rates for an in‐control probability anywhere between 0 and 1. The parameters of the new method are calculated easily, without tables, simulation, or Markov chain analysis used by many of the existing methods. The proposed method detects increases and decreases and works for constant and Poisson distributed sample sizes. The CUSUM Arcsine also has a superior sensitivity compared with other easily designed existing methods for monitoring Binomial distributed data. Phase I is crucial for the success of the overall statistical process control (SPC) and monitoring regime. Shewhart-type charts are recommended in this phase because of their broader shift detection ability. In this paper, a Phase I Shewhart-type X¯ chart is considered for the balanced random effects (also called a variance components) model. The proposed methodology takes proper account of the effects of parameter estimation and uses the false alarm probability (FAP) metric to design the chart. In the sequel, the corrected (adjusted) charting constants are calculated and tabulated. The constant can be found, on demand, from an accompanying R package. Motivations and illustrations with some real data are provided. Performance of the chart is examined in terms of in-control robustness and detection of nonhomogeneity (out-of-control). The proposed chart is shown to be easily adaptable to more general models, with more variance components and nested factors, and can accommodate various estimators of variance. Thus, it enables a broader Phase I process monitoring strategy, under normality, which can be applied within the ANOVA framework applicable for many DOE models. A micro-mechanical Finite Element (FE) model is used to investigate the failure mechanisms and generate failure envelopes for fibre reinforced composites under combined in-plane shear and longitudinal compressive loading. The results show that the failure envelopes are defined by two regions corresponding to different failure mechanisms: (i) shear-driven fibre compressive failure and (ii) kinking/splitting. The FE model is also used to reproduce and give insight into different experimental trends typically reported in the literature.  相似文献

This paper presents finite element simulations of two standardized and sequential tests performed in polymer–matrix composite laminates reinforced by unidirectional fibers: the drop-weight impact test and the compression after impact test. These tests are performed on laboratory coupons, which are monolithic, flat, rectangular composite plates with conventional stacking sequences. The impact and the compression after impact tests are simulated using constitutive material models formulated in the context of continuum damage mechanics. The material models account for both ply failure mechanisms and delamination. Comparisons with experimental data are performed in order to assess the accuracy of the predictions.  相似文献

Two experimental approaches were employed to assess the fibre/matrix adhesion between polymer threads and epoxy resin by transverse fibre bundle (TFB) tests. The first approach was to measure interfacial bonding strength of the fibre/matrix interface in dog-bone-shaped tensile specimens by applying normal stress until failure, simulating the Mode I failure mode. The second approach was to determine the fibre/epoxy interfacial bonding strength in shear (simulating the Mode II failure mode) by means of a V-notched beam shear testing method, i.e. a modified Iosipescu test. In both methods, polymer threads were transversely incorporated in the middle section of the specimens. It was found that both methods were simple, reliable, and sensitive to changes in the fibre/matrix adhesion conditions, though interpretation of the test results was somewhat complex. The two experimental approaches were able to produce consistent results and can thus be adopted as alternative methods for determining the interfacial bonding properties between fibres and matrix in composite systems where conventional micro-mechanical or macro-mechanical testing methods cannot be used.  相似文献

Statistical results of all the 1621 failure analyses, which cover a four‐year effort, are presented. The failure analyses were part of an elaborate test and ESS process of a high‐reliability system. Of the failure analyses, 97.5% identified the root cause. The classification of the failures by 11 root cause classes, including the test and ESS process itself is provided. The distribution of failure root causes detected during the various phases of the process is shown. Each test phase was analyzed according to the share of failures found and the fraction of failures that occurred during that phase. Applying a linear formula that summarizes the relative efficacy of each test phase compares the performances of the various phases. The term efficacy is used to describe the ability of a test phase to reveal failures without generating new problems. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

用溶胶-凝胶法制备(Pb_(0.5)Sr_(0.5))TiO_3(简称PST)前驱体溶液,以三水醋酸铅、醋酸锶、钛酸丁酯为原料,乙二醇甲醚、去离子水、乙酰丙酮做溶剂,通过旋涂工艺在Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si(100)基片上沉积PST薄膜.薄膜经320~380℃热分解,再经650℃退火30min,得到晶化好的薄膜样品,X射线衍射结果表明PST薄膜为钙钛矿立方相结构,其晶格常数为a=0.3919nm.用原子力显微镜观测其表面形貌,薄膜平均晶粒尺寸为300nm.用XPS测量了650℃退火PST薄膜样品的表面化学态,结果表明表面富铅,接近表面区域的原子比率Pb∶Sr∶Ti∶O是0.52∶0.50∶1.0∶3.02,接近(Pb_(0.5)Sr_(0.5))TiO_3的理想配比.  相似文献

采用同源克隆的策略,设计了3对引物,首次分离、克隆了2820bp的真鲷肌肉生长抑素(MSTN)基因组序列,该序列在GenBank上注册(注册登录号为AY965686).经过剪接、比较,分析了真鲷MSTN基因的序列和结构特征.真鲷的MSTN基因具有3个外显子、2个内含子,整个开放阅读框编码着384个氨基酸,第1个外显子上有一个连续11个Q氨基酸的残基,C-末端具有9个保守的半胱氨基酸及一个RVRR的蛋白酶解加工位点.在第1、第2内含子和3'非翻译区上分别具有一个微卫星重复序列.RT-PCR分析表明,MSTN基因在真鲷不同组织中都有表达,但表达量具有明显的差异;MSTN在肌肉中表达量最高,其次是脑、小肠、头肾、鳃和性腺,心脏、眼睛、肝脏中只有极少量表达,脾脏中没有检测到MSTN的表达.  相似文献

The flexural response of 3D woven textile composite panels containing an edge crack is evaluated using the End Notch Flexure (ENF) test. In doing so, the effectiveness of 3D reinforcement in increasing and/or eliminating delamination is demonstrated. A finite element model of the ENF configuration using the Discrete Cohesive Zone Model (DCZM) was used to evaluate the deformation response and fracture properties corresponding to the experimental results presented in Pankow et al. (2011) [1]. A modified trapezoidal traction law was used in the DCZM to computationally evaluate the ENF test results. Good agreement between experimental results and predictions are reported, up to the point at which the crack reaches under the loading roller and damage begins to occur locally under the roller.  相似文献

Ordered molecular assemblies of novel alkylthio-substituted bis(naphthalocyaninato) rare earth complexes M[2,3-Nc(SC12H25)8]2 (M=Gd, Er) have been fabricated by Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) technique and characterized by surface pressure-area isotherm measurements, electronic absorption and polarized electronic absorption spectroscopy and low-angle X-ray diffractometry. The interaction between the thin films and NO2 gas was investigated. The experimental results indicate that the bis(naphthalocyaninato) rare earth molecules form well-ordered stable monolayers with face-to-face orientation for the macrocycles and edge-on configuration for the molecules at the air–water interface and lamellar multilayers on solid substrates. The orientation angles of naphthalocyanine rings with respect to the quartz plate surface in the LB films for M[2,3-Nc(SC12H25)8]2 with M of Gd and Er have been determined based on the polarized absorbance and found to be 50° and 54°, respectively. The adsorption–desorption process of NO2 on LB films of M[2,3-Nc(SC12H25)8]2 has been monitored by electronic absorption spectroscopy. A process of gas desorption was found to obey the Elovich equation.  相似文献

为建立纤维增强复合材料(fiber-reinforced polymer,FRP)筋混凝土T形和矩形截面梁抗弯承载力简化计算方法,根据平衡破坏状态下的截面分析,定义了等效FRP配筋率ρef和相应的平衡配筋率ρef, b。在此基础上,基于257根FRP筋混凝土梁试验结果的统计分析,改进了受拉破坏和受压破坏皆可能发生的过渡区范围(ρef, b <ρef≤1.5ρef, b)。编制了受拉破坏控制截面的非线性分析程序,考虑多个设计参数的影响,开展了25 344个截面的参数分析。通过对参数分析结果的多元回归分析,推导了受拉破坏控制截面的抗弯承载力简化计算公式。此外,基于截面内力平衡和协调条件,推导了受压破坏控制截面的抗弯承载力计算公式。以国内外257根梁抗弯承载力试验结果,验证了所提方法的适用性。  相似文献

Abstract

Thin films of (Ti,Al)N with different Al contents were co-deposited using one Ti and one Al targets by radio frequency (RF) pulsed magnetron sputtering. Their composition, microstructure, nanohardness, surface morphology and deposition process were investigated by energy dispersive spectrometer system, X-ray diffraction, nanoindentation, atomic force microscopy and optical emission spectrum. A face cubic centred (fcc) TiN (B1) structure was found in the thin films when Al target power was low. When Al target power was increased, an additional hexagonal AlN (B4) structure appeared. With increasing Al content, the resulting films gradually changed from B1 structure to that of B4, accompanying with decrease of the lattice constant of B1 structure. Simultaneously, the preferred orientation of B4 structural thin films gradually transformed from (111) to (200). The mode of thin films transformed from island to fibre, subsequently to column with increasing Al target power. Optical emission spectrum analysis indicated that Al target surface reached non-metal sputtering mode earlier than that of Ti target under the same deposition parameters, which resulted in a lower sputtering rate of Al target than Ti target and loss of Al content in (Ti,Al)N thin films.  相似文献

The aim of this work is to study the time dependent effects on the low cycle fatigue (LCF) behavior of 316 L(N) stainless steel weld joint. Influence of strain rate, temperature, strain range, hold time and hold duration on fatigue life is evaluated. Occurrence of dynamic strain aging, creep damage, overall distribution of damage across the weld joint and the role of microstructure on the failure mode and failure location of the weld joint is discussed as a function of test parameters.  相似文献

Okra technical fibres are extracted from the stem of a plant of the Malvaceae family (Abelmoschus esculentus), which is originally from Egypt, but is also cropped in Southern Asia and elsewhere for nutritional purposes. Their use as potential reinforcement in polymer composites requires the understanding of their microstructure and mechanical properties. This work investigates the morphology of the technical fibres through optical and electron microscopy and their thermal behaviour through thermogravimetric analysis. Single fibre tensile tests were performed in order to obtain their mechanical properties and the results were analyzed through a two-parameter Weibull distribution. In gradient‐based design optimization, the sensitivities of the constraint with respect to the design variables are required. In reliability‐based design optimization (RBDO), the probabilistic constraint is evaluated at the most probable point (MPP), and thus the sensitivities of the probabilistic constraints at MPP are required. This paper presents the rigorous analytic derivation of the sensitivities of the probabilistic constraint at MPP for both first‐order reliability method (FORM)‐based performance measure approach (PMA) and dimension reduction method (DRM)‐based PMA. Numerical examples are used to demonstrate that the analytic sensitivities agree very well with the sensitivities obtained from the finite difference method (FDM). However, as the sensitivity calculation at the true DRM‐based MPP requires the second‐order derivatives and additional MPP search, the sensitivity derivation at the approximated DRM‐based MPP, which does not require the second‐order derivatives and additional MPP search to find the DRM‐based MPP, is proposed in this paper. A convergence study illustrates that the sensitivity at the approximated DRM‐based MPP converges to the sensitivity at the true DRM‐based MPP as the design approaches the optimum design. Hence, the sensitivity at the approximated DRM‐based MPP is proposed to be used for the DRM‐based RBDO to enhance the efficiency of the optimization. In this study, poly(p-phenylene sulfide) based nanocomposites containing multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were produced by dilution of a 15 wt.% MWNT/PPS masterbatch via twin screw extrusion process. The electrical conductivities of the nanocomposites were measured and percolation threshold was observed below 0.77 vol.% MWNTs. The state of dispersion and distribution quality of MWNTs was analyzed on macro- and nanoscale through transmission light and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A good deagglomeration of primary macroagglomerates and a homogenous MWNT distribution on nanoscale was found. The dependence of conductivity on MWNT concentration was estimated using statistical percolation theory which matches the experimental data quite well. A new empirical equation was set up to fit the electrical conductivity using quantitative values of visible percolating MWNTs which were detected by charge contrast imaging in SEM.  相似文献

The influence of dopants commonly used in SnO2 varistor ceramics, such as CoO, Cr2O3 or Nb2O5, on the structural properties of SnO2 was investigated. Several SnO2-based ceramics containing only one of the dopants were prepared and characterized. Spectroscopic investigations [visible, near infrared (IR) and IR region] were performed to obtain information about dopants valence states inside the ceramics, as well as about their influence on electronic structure of the material. Structural properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis and mechanisms of dopant incorporation were proposed. Obtained results were confirmed with results of the electrical measurements. Microstructural changes in doped ceramics were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis that showed great differences in densities, grain size, and morphology of the SnO2 ceramics depending on type of dopants and their distribution.  相似文献

In this work, pyrite/rhodochrosite (PyxRhy) composite synthesized from natural pyrite and rhodochrosite to remediate Cr(VI) containing wastewater was systematically investigated and evaluated. Results show that pyrite/rhodochrosite (1:1) showed the best Cr(VI) removal performance. XRD showed that emergence of MnS and pyrrhotite contributed to a significant increasing Cr(VI) reduction rate. The estimated maximum adsorption capacity was 95.58 mg/g at pH value of 6, temperature of 303.15 k, which was larger than other iron and manganese-based materials. Additionally, thermodynamic study illuminated that Cr(VI) removal by Py1Rh1 was a spontaneous and endothermic process. Taffel curve and EIS result presented higher corrosion current and lower electrical resistance for Py1Rh1, respectively, which was more favorable for the electron transfer. The surface cyclic regeneration of Fe(II) and Mn(II) provided long-term electron transfer to the Cr(VI) reduction. Our results demonstrated the great potentials of natural pyrite and rhodochrosite synthetic materials in the remediation of Cr(VI) polluted water.  相似文献

Low-velocity impact damage can drastically reduce the residual strength of a composite structure even when the damage is barely visible. The ability to computationally predict the extent of damage and compression-after-impact (CAI) strength of a composite structure can potentially lead to the exploration of a larger design space without incurring significant time and cost penalties. A high-fidelity three-dimensional composite damage model, to predict both low-velocity impact damage and CAI strength of composite laminates, has been developed and implemented as a user material subroutine in the commercial finite element package, ABAQUS/Explicit. The intralaminar damage model component accounts for physically-based tensile and compressive failure mechanisms, of the fibres and matrix, when subjected to a three-dimensional stress state. Cohesive behaviour was employed to model the interlaminar failure between plies with a bi-linear traction–separation law for capturing damage onset and subsequent damage evolution. The virtual tests, set up in ABAQUS/Explicit, were executed in three steps, one to capture the impact damage, the second to stabilize the specimen by imposing new boundary conditions required for compression testing, and the third to predict the CAI strength. The observed intralaminar damage features, delamination damage area as well as residual strength are discussed. It is shown that the predicted results for impact damage and CAI strength correlated well with experimental testing without the need of model calibration which is often required with other damage models.  相似文献
