The Luenberger productivity indicator applies directional distance functions which allow to specifying in what direction (i.e. direction of measurement) the operating units will be evaluated. In the presence of a change in the direction of measurement, the standard components of the existing Luenberger productivity indicator may provide values which are not compatible with reality. In order to eliminate this pitfall, the so-called bottoms-up approach is used to revisit the definition of the indicator and its components. We start with a list of selected sources of productivity change, namely efficiency change, technical change and direction change, then examine the best possible way of measuring each of the sources and combine them to derive a new measure of productivity change. The proposed indicator will be illustrated by means of an empirical application to a panel of 417 German savings banks over the time period 2006–2012. The example explains how the proposed approach is able to properly measure efficiency change, technical change and direction change. The results also provide conclusive evidence about the effect of the change in direction of measurement on the results of the productivity over time in a centralised management scenario. 相似文献

Enterprise risk management (ERM) has become an important topic in today's more complex, interrelated global business environment, replete with threats from natural, political, economic, and technical sources. The development and current status of ERM is presented, with a demonstration of how risk modelling can be applied in supply chain management. Within supply chain management, a major managerial decision is vendor selection. We start with discussion of the advanced ERM technology, i.e. value-at-risk (VaR) and develop DEA VaR model as a new tool to conduct risk management in enterprises. A vendor selection set of data is used to demonstrate how this model can be used to assess supply risks in ERM. Such models provide means to quantitatively improve decision making with respect to risk. 相似文献

The abrupt development of technology has confronted different industries' managers with crucial decision points. The scope of their decisions' impact goes beyond their companies' borders. Sustainable assessment of technology investigates the economic, environmental, and social effects of technologies on firms and their environment. Nonetheless, the technology management process includes different steps (such as technology acquisition and exploitation) which need a comprehensive decision-making tool toward sustainable development targets. This paper aims to propose an integrated decision-making model to investigate the social sustainability of the technology management process. Considering three main steps of the technology management process (technology selection, technology acquisition, and technology exploitation), we constructed our model utilizing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as one of the most popular decision-making tools. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the model, we implemented it for E-banking technologies in one of the oldest banks of Iran (Iran's AgriBank). The results indicated that internet banking, internal R&D, and internal exploitation are the best decision alternatives among the technology management process from the social sustainability perspective. The results were validated by calculating the Consistency Rate (CR) and performing scenario-based sensitivity analysis. 相似文献

In this paper, focusing on visual management (VM) as one of the kaizen technologies, a procedure for its new case development is discussed. This procedure consists of two portions. The first portion is construction of kaizen case-base, namely: (1) correction and analysis of kaizen cases; (2) establishment of drivers and instances of investigated kaizen case; and (3) analysis of proximity relationship among kaizen cases. The second portion is utilisation of kaizen case-base, namely: (4) selection of kaizen case from kaizen case-base; (5) consideration of the other related kaizen cases; and (6) new kaizen case design. A case study is performed to assure the relevance of the proposed procedure by focusing on ‘dispatching board’, a typical VM technology. Through collaboration with a factory eager to implement VM, the proposed procedure is qualified by experts as a useful method for kaizen knowledge transfer. 相似文献
