In this article, the antibacterial properties and mechanism of waterborne UV cured acrylic coatings (WUV) modified by quaternary ammonium compounds (QAC) is discussed, as well as the changes in the antibacterial properties of QAC under the action of different additives. (60 wt% methanol, 60 wt% ethanol, and 75 wt% ethanol). And the chemical cross-linking method is used to combine WUV with QAC. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transforms infrared spectrometer (FTIR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was employed to characterize the modified WUV. The antibacterial properties of three antibacterial agents in liquid coatings (WUV-L) and cured coating films (WUV-C) are investigated. The SEM images showed many irregular wrinkles appeared on the surface of modified coating films. The FTIR result showed the hydroxyl groups promoted the binding ability of the antibacterial agents and coating, and the XPS result revealed that the increase of −NR4+ concentration enhanced the antibacterial properties of coating films. The antibacterial properties of WUV-L and WUV-C improved with the increase of QAC. Theoretical antibacterial agents mass fraction of 5% or higher was found to have the highest antibacterial rate (>90.00%) for WUV modification, among, the WUV modified by QAC-m60 is the best with the antibacterial rate reaching to 99.73% in WUV-L and 99.67% in WUV-C.  相似文献

This paper reports the results of spectroscopic investigations carried out on film cast from a system consisting of cycloaliphatic diepoxide, epoxidized natural rubber (ENR-50), and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and cured by the UV radiation. GMA acts as a reactive diluent for the ENR. Triphenyl sulphonium hexafluoro antimonate was used as the cationic photoinitiator. Results reported in a previous paper showed that ENR acts as a toughening agent. Optical microscopic studies were suggestive of the existence of two-phase morphology consisting of an elastomeric domain and the resin matrix domain. For effective toughening, it is essential that good adhesion exists between these two domains. It was of interest, therefore, to know whether favorable interactions occurred between the different components of the coating systems employed in our studies to promote effective adhesion between the elastomeric domain and the resin matrix. Systematic spectral studies were, therefore, conducted with a view to understanding how different components of the hybrid coating system interact. The results showed that the acrylic double bonds, as well as the epoxy groups of GMA, the isoprene double bonds and epoxy groups of ENR, and the epoxy groups of cycloaliphatic epoxide resin all participate in a scheme of photoinitiated polymerization and crosslinking reactions ultimately producing an interpenetrating polymer network, a result conducive to effective toughening of the epoxy resins, which are intrinsically brittle. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The present investigation describes the development of a regression model for dry colour prediction based on the colour of wet leather. Such a prediction will be useful in the colour matching of leather – the time delay in drying of wet leather and determination of the final colour can be avoided. The use of computer technology interfaced with a reflectance spectrophotometer provides a novel approach to the prediction of dry colour from wet colour. In this study, five different regression models, i.e. linear fit, log fit, quadratic fit, log quadratic fit and cubic fit, were developed, with the dry reflectance of the leather sample as a dependent variable and the wet reflectance of the leather as an independent variable. The relationship between moisture content and surface leather colour, a prerequisite for enabling prediction, was studied. The obtained log quadratic model can be used for accurate prediction of dry colour from wet colour.  相似文献

The critical element for a durable exterior clear coating on wood is photochemical stability of the wood surface beneath the coating. If this interface is not stabilized, even a durable coating will delaminate due to photoinduced wood degradation. A new method for stabilizing the wood surface was developed and evaluated. HEBP [2-hydroxy-4-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)benzophenone] was grafted to western redcedar (Thuja plicata). HEBP contains an ultraviolet (UV) stabilizer moiety that improved the xenon are accelerated weathering performance of western redcedar (WRC). The weathering performance of the HEBP-modified WRC was compared with WRC treated with an unbound UV stabilizer of similar type and with untreated controls. The grafted stabilizer reduced the erosion rate (weathering) of unfinished WRC, and, as a pretreatment under clear finishes (spar varnish and exterior grade polyurethane), the stabilized surfaces improved coating performance and color retention.  相似文献

This paper examines the mechanisms of wet curing and subsequent drying at 23 °C and 40% RH influencing the curling of cement paste, plate-like beams. Both experimental and model results show that as the duration of the wet curing is increased, the member peak deflection also increases from one sided drying. Experiments suggest that the extended wet curing causes a pore structure refinement resulting in greater saturation and consequently greater shrinkage. A simplified 1-D, drying diffusion and shrinkage model is able to adequately predict experimentally measured peak curling deflections, and confirms the effect of saturation on curling. The results provide important insight into the volume stability of slabs and the potential negative impact of wet curing on slab curling.  相似文献

为实现合成革涂层材料的以“硅”代“碳”,以端乙烯基硅油(ViPDMSVi)、侧含氢硅油(PMHS)、侧乙烯基硅油(ViPMVSVi)、白炭黑等为原料,在热诱导下原位聚合制备了有机硅(PDMS)聚合物涂膜。通过力学性能、DSC、耐曲挠、耐磨、疏水防污等测试对PDMS聚合物涂膜的性能进行了表征,探究了ViPDMSVi、PMHS活性氢、双键与活性氢物质的量比、ViPMVSVi及白炭黑对PDMS聚合物涂膜的拉伸强度、断裂伸长率及硬度的影响。结果表明,侧乙烯基硅油和白炭黑的质量分数分别为7%和40%时对PDMS聚合物涂膜力学性能的提升最为显著,优化条件下制得的PDMS聚合物涂膜拉伸强度为5.96 MPa,断裂伸长率为481%,合成革涂层表现出优异的低温曲挠性、耐磨性、疏水及防污性。  相似文献

Depth profiles of acrylate curing conversion were recorded in order to elucidate the interaction of photoinitator, photostabilizer, and irradiation source. 对由SBS(苯乙烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯嵌段聚合物)和丙烯酸酯类单体组成的胶液进行紫外光(UV)辐照固化,制备压敏胶(PSA)。采用UV-DSC(差示扫描量热法)、FT-IR(红外光谱)等检测手段对UV固化胶液的聚合反应过程、PSA的结构进行了表征和分析,并提出了简单的结构模型。结果表明:胶液中的丙烯酸酯类单体发生自由基聚合反应,并与SBS发生接枝和交联反应,形成半互穿聚合物网络(semi-IPN)结构;固化后PSA的交联程度随SBS用量的增加而增大;当w(SBS)=5%时,PSA的凝胶含量可达到46%;在UV辐照下,SBS/丙烯酸酯胶液的反应速率随UV辐照强度或光引发剂用量的增加而增大,固化反应在80s内已基本完成。  相似文献

UV curable polyurethane dispersions (UV-PUDs) having different prepolymer chain length, different types of capping agent (2,3-epoxy-1-propanol (glycidol) and 2-hydroxyethylacrylate (HEA)) and ionic center have been synthesized. Films based on polyurethane prepolymer were tack free prior to cure and showed high elongation at break over 200% as well as high hardness and modulus, especially when the terminal isocyanate groups were capped with glycidol.  相似文献

Interfacial structural changes of UV cured urethane acrylate coating films were investigated using ATR FTIR spectroscopy. These studies show that at the film–air (F–A) interface, when photo-initiator levels do not exceed 0.1% w/w, the band area ratio of H-bonding to non-H-bonding carbonyl stretching vibrations is proportional to UV energy density. However, when the initiator level is increased to 5% w/w, an increase of up to 200 mJ/cm2 UV power is required in order to achieve a similar band ratio, and at higher photo-initiator levels, the amount of energy levels off. Analysis of the H-bonded to non-H-bonded band ratio near the film–substrate (F–S) interface shows that the band area ratio increases further away from the interface. At shallower depths, around 0.84 μm from the F–S interface, the magnitude of the H-bonding/non-H-bonding is smaller than that observed for the same penetration depths before UV exposure for lower photo-initiator concentration or lower energy UV exposure.  相似文献

Glass-fibre-epoxy composites cured with oligomeric polyaminophenolic agents have shown good dimensional stability during thermal cycling at temperatures over 100°C, even if their curing is carried out at room temperature. It was therefore believed important to evaluate their behaviour in different environmental conditions. Their good mechanical characteristics are maintained after saturation with water, UV irradiation, and thermal cycling between 0 and 110°C. From the following tests the environmental resistance is clearly higher than that of composites cured with other aminic agents.  相似文献

In this work, a flower clusters-like superhydrophobic surface was fabricated via an ultraviolet (UV) curable coating of octadecylamine (ODA) and vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (V-PDMS). ODA self-assembled into many flower clusters-like structures on the surface of the coating, increasing the roughness of the coating surface without additional nanoparticles. V-PDMS formed a highly crosslinked network under a UV lamp, which would be helpful for a robust superhydrophobic surface. The obtained PDMS/ODA fabric showed water contact angle of 161° and sliding angle of 5°. The durability of the superhydrophobic surface was tested by water impacting, tube brush scrubbing, knife scratching, hand twisting, finger pressing, tape adhesion, abrasion, continuous rinsing, and chemical conditions. The experimental results indicated that the superhydrophobic surface have good durability for long service life. Moreover, the PDMS/ODA fabric could selectively absorb oils from water with good separation performance. This work will provide a facile, low cost, and versatile method to prepare superhydrophobic surfaces, and enhance their efficiency of oil–water separation. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl.
