A series of aromatic copolyethers containing 1,3,4‐oxadiazole rings and fluorene groups was prepared by nucleophilic substitution polymerization technique of 9,9‐bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)fluorene, 1 , or of different amounts of 1 and an aromatic bisphenol, such as 4,4′‐isopropylidenediphenol or phenolphthalein, with 2,5‐bis(p‐fluorophenyl)‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole. The polymers were easily soluble in polar solvents like N‐methylpyrrolidone, N,N‐dimethylacetamide, N,N‐dimethylformamide, and chloroform and can be cast from solutions into thin flexible films. They showed high thermal stability, with decomposition temperature being above 425°C. The polymers exhibited a glass‐transition temperature in the range of 195–295°C, with a reasonable interval between glass‐transition and decomposition temperature. Electrical insulating properties of some polymer films were evaluated on the basis of dielectric constant and dielectric loss and their variation with frequency and temperature. The values of the dielectric constant at 10 kHz and 20°C were in the range of 3.16–3.25. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2009  相似文献

Two series of heterocyclic aromatic polymers were synthesized from 4,4′‐(4,4′‐isopropylidenediphenoxy)bis(phthaltic anhydride) and 2,2′‐bis(3,4‐dicarboxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane dianhydride by two‐step method. The inherent viscosities were in the range of 24–45 cm3/g. The effects of the rigid benzoxazole group in the backbone of copolymer on the thermal, mechanical, and physical properties were investigated. These polymers exhibit good thermal stability. The temperatures of 5% weight loss (T5) of these polymers are in the range of 403–530°C in air and 425–539°C in nitrogen. The chard yields of these polymers are in the range of 15–24% in air and 54–61% in nitrogen. These polymers also have high glass‐transition temperatures and a low coefficient of thermal expansion and good mechanical properties. The poly(benzoxazol imide) has a higher tensile strength and modulus than those of neat polyimide. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2009  相似文献

A novel dianhydride, trans‐1,2‐bis(3,4‐dicarboxyphenoxy)cyclohexane dianhydride (1,2‐CHDPA), was prepared through aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction of 4‐nitrophthalonitrile with trans‐cyclohexane‐1,2‐diol followed by hydrolysis and dehydration. A series of polyimides (PIs) were synthesized from one‐step polycondensation of 1,2‐CHDPA with several aromatic diamines, such as 2,2′‐bis(trifluoromethyl)biphenyl‐4,4′‐diamine (TFDB), bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenyl)ether (TFODA), 4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl ether (ODA), 1,4‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)benzene (TPEQ), 4,4′‐(1,3‐phenylenedioxy)dianiline (TPER), 2,2′‐bis[4‐(3‐aminodiphenoxy)phenyl]sulfone (m‐BAPS), and 2,2′‐bis[4‐(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)phenyl]sulfone (6F‐BAPS). The glass transition temperatures (Tgs) of the polymers were higher than 198°C, and the 5% weight loss temperatures (Td5%s) were in the range of 424–445°C in nitrogen and 415–430°C in air, respectively. All the PIs were endowed with high solubility in common organic solvents and could be cast into tough and flexible films, which exhibited good mechanical properties with tensile strengths of 76–105 MPa, elongations at break of 4.7–7.6%, and tensile moduli of 1.9–2.6 GPa. In particular, the PI films showed excellent optical transparency in the visible region with the cut‐off wavelengths of 369–375 nm owing to the introduction of trans‐1,2‐cyclohexane moiety into the main chain. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of copolymers and glass fiber composites were successfully prepared from 2,2‐bis [4‐(3,4‐dicyanophenoxy) phenyl] propane (BAPh), epoxy resins E‐44 (EP), and polyarylene ether nitriles (PEN) with 4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl sulfone as curing additive. The gelation time was shortened from 25 min to 4 min when PEN content was 0 wt % and 15 wt %, respectively. PEN could accelerate the crosslinking reaction between the phthalonitrile and epoxy. The initial decomposition temperatures (Ti) of BAPh/EP copolymers and glass fiber composites were all more than 350°C in nitrogen. The Tg of 15 wt % PEN glass fiber composites increased by 21.2°C compared with that of in comparison with BAPh/EP glass fiber composite. The flexural strength of the copolymers and glass fiber composites reached 119.8 MPa and 698.5 MPa which increased by 16.6 MPa and 127.3 MPa in comparison with BAPh/EP composite, respectively. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of aromatic poly(amide imide)s containing pendant phthalonitrile groups was prepared by solution polycondensation reaction of 4,4′‐diamino‐4″‐(3,4‐dicyanophenoxy)triphenylmethane, 1, or of different amounts of 1 and 1,3‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)benzene, with a fluorinated imide diacid chloride, 2,2‐bis[N‐(4‐chloroformylphenyl)phthalimidyl]hexafluoroisopropane. The polymers were easily soluble in polar organic solvents, such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone, N,N‐dimethylacetamide, N,N‐dimethylformamide, and dimethylsulfoxide. They can be cast from solutions into thin flexible films showing nanoactuation properties in the range of 120–450 nm, depending on the nitrile group content, when an electric voltage is applied on their surface. Electrical insulating properties of the polymer films were evaluated on the basis of dielectric permittivity and dielectric loss and their variation with the frequency and temperature. The values of the dielectric permittivity at 10 kHz and 20°C were in the range of 3.01–3.43. All polymers exhibited high thermal stability, decomposition temperature being above 420°C. POLYM. ENG. A series of six new aromatic polyamides with side oxadiazole rings has been synthesized by polycondensation reaction of aromatic diamines containing pendent substituted oxadiazole groups with a silicon‐containing diacid chloride [namely, bis(p‐chlorocarbonyl‐phenylene)diphenylsilane] or with a fluorine‐containing diacid chloride [namely, hexafluoroisopropylidene‐bis(p‐benzoyl chloride)]. All polymers were easily soluble in amidic solvents, such as N‐methylpyrrolidinone and dimethylformamide, and gave thin transparent films by casting such solutions. Very thin coatings were deposited onto silicon wafers and exhibited smooth, pinhole‐free surfaces in atomic force microscopy investigations. The polymers showed high thermal stability, with decomposition temperature >400°C. Some of them did exhibit a glass transition, in the range 152–276°C, with a reasonable interval between glass transition and decomposition. Four of these polymers showed blue photoluminescence, in the range 460–480 nm, which makes them promising candidates for future use as high‐performance materials in the construction of light‐emitting devices. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of new alternating aromatic poly(ester‐imide)s were prepared by the polycondensation of the preformed imide ring‐containing diacids, 2,2′‐bis(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)biphenyl (2a) and 2,2′‐bis(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl (2b) with various aromatic dihydroxy compounds in the presence of pyridine and lithium chloride. A model compound (3) was also prepared by the reaction of 2b with phenol, its synthesis permitting an optimization of polymerization conditions. Poly(ester‐imides) were fully characterized by FTIR, UV‐vis and NMR spectroscopy. Both biphenylene‐ and binaphthylene‐based poly(ester‐imide)s exhibited excellent solubility in common organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran, m‐cresol, pyridine and dichloromethane. However, binaphthylene‐based poly(ester‐imide)s were more soluble than those of biphenylene‐based polymers in highly polar organic solvents, including N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone, N,N‐dimethylacetamide, N,N‐dimethylformamide and dimethyl sulfoxide. From differential scanning calorimetry thermograms, the polymers showed glass‐transition temperatures between 261 and 315 °C. Thermal behaviour of the polymers obtained was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, and the 10 % weight loss temperatures of the poly(ester‐imide)s was in the range 449–491 °C in nitrogen. Furthermore, crystallinity of the polymers was estimated by means of wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction. The resultant poly(ester‐imide)s exhibited nearly an amorphous nature, except poly(ester‐imide)s derived from hydroquinone and 4,4′‐dihydroxybiphenyl. In general, polymers containing binaphthyl units showed higher thermal stability but lower crystallinity than polymers containing biphenyl units. A new diphenylbutadiene‐containing bisphenol was successfully synthesized from benzylideneaniline and 4‐propenylanisole via an anil synthetic method. A series of copoly(arylene ether)s consisting of an alternate isolated blue chromophore (diphenylbutadiene) and an electron‐transporting moiety (1,3,4‐oxadiazole) was synthesized and characterized. High molecular weight copoly(arylene ether)s with an inherent viscosity of >0.5 dL/g were prepared by the nucleophilic displacement reaction of oxadiazole‐activated bis‐fluorocompounds with bisphenols. Introduction of ether linkages into the copolymers led to an enhanced solubility in organic solvents such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc) and N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone (NMP). The resulting copolymers can be cast into tough and transparent films. The copolymers were amorphous in structure with high glass transition temperatures ranging from 182.29 to 194.50°C. They also exhibited good thermal stability with the maximum decomposition temperatures higher than 500°C in nitrogen. The absorption peaks of these copolymers in thin films varied from 375 to 391 nm, while the photoluminescent peaks varied from 410 to 433 nm. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new imide‐containing dicarboxylic acid based on a twisted binaphthylene unit, 2,2′‐bis(N‐trimellitoyl)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl (1), was synthesized from 1,1′‐binaphthyl‐2,2′‐diamine and trimellitic anhydride in glacial acetic acid. The structure of compound 1 was fully characterized with spectroscopic methods and elemental analysis. Series of thermally stable and organosoluble poly(amide imide)s (4a–4d) and poly(ester imide)s (5a–5d) with similar backbones were prepared by the triphenyl phosphite and diphenylchlorophosphate activated direct polycondensation of diimide dicarboxylic acid 1 with various aromatic diamines and diols, respectively. With due attention to the structural similarity of the resulting poly(amide imide)s and poly(ester imide)s, most of the differences between these two block copolyimides could be easily attributed to the presence of alternate amide or ester linkages accompanied by imide groups in the polymer backbone. The ultraviolet maximum wavelength values of the yellowish polymers were determined from their ultraviolet spectra. The crystallinity of these copolyimides was estimated by means of wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction, and the resultant polymers exhibited a nearly amorphous nature, except for the polymers derived from benzidine and 4,4′‐binaphthol. The poly(amide imide)s exhibited excellent solubility in a variety of highly polar aprotic solvents, whereas the poly(ester imide)s showed good solubility in less polar solvents. According to differential scanning calorimetry analyses, polymers 4a–4d and 5a–5d had glass‐transition temperatures between 331 and 357°C and between 318 and 342°C, respectively. The thermal behaviors of the obtained polymers were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, and the 10% weight loss temperatures of the poly(amide imide)s and poly(ester imide)s were between 579 and 604°C and between 566 and 577°C in nitrogen, respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 2,2′‐Position aryl‐substituted tetracarboxylic dianhydrides including 2,2′‐bis(biphenyl)‐4,4′,5,5′‐biphenyl tetracarboxylic dianhydride and 2,2′‐bis[4‐(naphthalen‐1‐yl)phenyl)]‐4,4′,5,5′‐biphenyl tetracarboxylic dianhydride were synthesized. A new series of aromatic polyimides (PIs) were synthesized via a two‐step procedure from 3,3′,4,4′‐biphenyl tetracarboxylic dianhydride and the newly synthesized tetracarboxylic dianhydrides monomers reacting with 2,2′‐bis[4′‐(3″,4″,5″‐trifluorophenyl)phenyl]‐4,4′‐biphenyl diamine. The resulting polymers exhibited excellent organosolubility and thermal properties associated with Tg at 264 °C and high initial thermal decomposition temperatures (T5%) exceeding 500 °C in argon. Moreover, the fabricated sandwich structured memory devices of Al/PI‐a/ITO was determined to present a flash‐type memory behaviour, while Al/PI‐b/ITO and Al/PI‐c/ITO exhibited write‐once read‐many‐times memory capability with different threshold voltages. In addition, Al/polymer/ITO devices showed high stability under a constant stress or continuous read pulse voltage of ? 1.0 V. Copyright © 2011 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A series of bisphenol A (BPA)‐based 2,2‐bis‐[4‐(3,4‐dicyanophenoxy)phenyl]propane (BAPh) prepolymers and polymers were prepared using BPA as a novel curing agent. Ultraviolet–visible and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy spectrum were used to study the polymerization reaction mechanism of the BAPh/BPA polymers. The curing behaviors were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic rheological analysis, the results indicated that the BAPh/BPA prepolymers exhibit large processing windows (109.5–148.5°C) and low complex viscosity (0.1–1 Pa·s) at moderate temperature, respectively. Additionally, the BAPh/BPA/glass fiber (GF) composite laminates were manufactured and investigated. The flexural strength and modulus of the composite laminates are 548.7–632.8 MPa and 25.7–33.2 GPa, respectively. The thermal stabilities of BAPh/BPA/GF composite laminates were studied by thermogravimetry analysis. The temperatures at 5% weight loss (T5%) of the composite laminates are 508.5–528.7°C in nitrogen and 508.1–543.2°C in air. In conclusion, the BAPh/BPA systems can be used as superior matrix materials for numerous advanced composite applications. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci., 2013  相似文献

Three series of isomeric poly(amide imide)s (series III, IV, and V) were synthesized by the direct polycondensation of 2,2′‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)biphenyl (2,2′‐BAPB), 4,4′‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)biphenyl (4,4′‐BAPB), or their equimolar mixture (2,2′‐BAPB/4,4′‐BAPB = 1/1) with 12 diimide diacids and with triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as condensing agents. A comparison of the physical properties of these three series was also made. The inherent viscosities of series III, IV, and V were 0.25–0.84, 0.25–1.52, and 0.43–1.30 dL g?1, respectively. Most of the series III polymers showed better solubility because of the non‐para structure, with the solubility order found to be III > V > IV. According to X‐ray diffraction patterns, the amorphous poly(amide imide)s had excellent solubility, whereas the crystalline polymers were less soluble. All the soluble polymers afforded transparent, flexible, and tough films, which had tensile strengths of 57–104 MPa, elongations at break of 3–20%, and initial moduli of 2.05–2.86 GPa. The glass‐transition temperatures (measured by differential scanning calorimetry) were highest for series IV, which contained the rigid 4,4′‐biphenyl units (254–299°C); copolymer series V ranked second (237–277°C), and series III, with crank 2,2′‐biphenyl structures, had the lowest values (227–268°C). The 10% weight‐loss temperatures (measured by thermogravimetric analysis) were close to one another, ranging from 527 to 574°C in nitrogen and from 472 to 543°C in air. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel bismaleimide, 2,2′‐dimethyl‐4,4′‐bis(4‐maleimidophenoxy)biphenyl, containing noncoplanar 2,2′‐dimethylbiphenylene and flexible ether units in the polymer backbone was synthesized from 2,2′‐dimethyl‐4,4′‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)biphenyl with maleic anhydride. The bismaleimide was reacted with 11 diamines using m‐cresol as a solvent and glacial acetic acid as a catalyst to produce novel polyaspartimides. Polymers were identified by elemental analysis and infrared spectroscopy, and characterized by solubility test, X‐ray diffraction, and thermal analysis (differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis). The inherent viscosities of the polymers varied from 0.22 to 0.48 dL g−1 in concentration of 1.0 g dL−1 of N,N‐dimethylformamide. All polymers are soluble in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone, N,N‐dimethylacetamide, N,N‐dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, pyridine, m‐cresol, and tetrahydrofuran. The polymers, except PASI‐4, had moderate glass transition temperature in the range of 188°–226°C and good thermo‐oxidative stability, losing 10% mass in the range of 375°–426°C in air and 357°–415°C in nitrogen. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A series of new cardo poly(ether imide)s bearing flexible ether and bulky xanthene pendant groups was prepared from 9,9‐bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]xanthene with six commercially available aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides in N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc) via the poly(amic acid) precursors and subsequent thermal or chemical imidization. The intermediate poly(amic acid)s had inherent viscosities between 0.83 and 1.28 dL/g, could be cast from DMAc solutions and thermally converted into transparent, flexible, and tough poly(ether imide) films which were further characterized by X‐ray and mechanical analysis. All of the poly(ether imide)s were amorphous and their films exhibited tensile strengths of 89–108 MPa, elongations at break of 7–9%, and initial moduli of 2.12–2.65 GPa. Three poly(ether imide)s derived from 4,4′‐oxydiphthalic anhydride, 4,4′‐sulfonyldiphthalic anhydride, and 2,2‐bis(3,4‐dicarboxyphenyl))hexafluoropropane anhydride, respectively, exhibited excellent solubility in various solvents such as DMAc, N,N‐dimethylformamide, N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone, pyridine, and even in tetrahydrofuran at room temperature. The resulting poly(ether imide)s with glass transition temperatures between 286 and 335°C had initial decomposition temperatures above 500°C, 10% weight loss temperatures ranging from 551 to 575°C in nitrogen and 547 to 570°C in air, and char yields of 53–64% at 800°C in nitrogen. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The 4‐[4′‐(Hydrazinocarbonyl)phenoxy]‐2‐pentadecylbenzohydrazide was polycondensed with aromatic diacid chlorides viz., terephthalic acid chloride (TPC), isophthalic acid chloride (IPC), and a mixture of TPC : IPC (50 : 50 mol %) to obtain polyhydrazides which on subsequent cyclodehydration reaction in the presence of phosphoryl chloride yielded new poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s bearing flexibilizing ether linkages and pentadecyl side chains. Inherent viscosities of polyhydrazides and poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s were in the range 0.53–0.66 dL g?1 and 0.49–0.53 dL g?1, respectively, indicating formation of medium to reasonably high molecular weight polymers. The number average molecular weights (Mn) and polydispersities (Mw/Mn) of poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s were in the range 14,660–21,370 and 2.2–2.5, respectively. Polyhydrazides and poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s were soluble in polar aprotic solvents such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide, 1‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone, and N,N‐dimethylformamide. Furthermore, poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s were also found to be soluble in solvents such as chloroform, dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, pyridine, and m‐cresol. Transparent, flexible, and tough films of polyhydrazides and poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s could be cast from N,N‐dimethylacetamide and chloroform solutions, respectively. Both polyhydrazides and poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s were amorphous in nature and formation of layered structure was observed due to packing of pentadecyl chains. A decrease in glass transition temperature was observed both in polyhydrazides (143–166°C) and poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s (90–102°C) which could be ascribed to “internal plasticization” effect of pentadecyl chains. The T10 values, obtained from TG curves, for poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s were in the range of 433–449°C indicating their good thermal stability. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 3,4‐Di‐(2′‐hydroxyethoxy)‐4′‐nitrostilbene was prepared and condensed with terephthaloyl chloride, adipoyl chloride, and sebacoyl chloride to yield novel Y‐type polyesters containing NLO‐chromophore dioxynitrostilbenyl groups, which constituted parts of the polymer backbone. Polymers were found soluble in common organic solvents such as acetone and N,N‐dimethylformamide. They showed thermal stability up to 300 °C in thermogravimetric analysis with glass‐transition temperatures obtained from differential scanning calorimetry in the range 110–152 °C. The second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficients (d33) of poled polymer films at a 1064 cm?1 fundamental wavelength were around 3.51 × 10?8 esu. The dipole alignment exhibited high thermal stability even at 10 °C higher than the glass‐transition temperature, and there was no SHG decay below 120 °C for one of these polymers due to the partial main‐chain character of polymer structure, which was acceptable for NLO device applications. BACKGROUND: Wholly aromatic polyamides (aramids) are high‐performance polymeric materials with outstanding heat resistance and excellent chemical stabilities due to chain stiffness and intermolecular hydrogen bonding of amide groups. Synthesis of structurally well‐designed monomers is an effective strategy to prepare modified forms of these aramids to overcome lack of organo‐solubility and processability limitations. RESULTS: A novel class of wholly aromatic polyamides was prepared from a new diamine, namely 2,2′‐bis(p‐phenoxyphenyl)‐4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl ether (PPAPE), and two simple aromatic dicarboxylic acids. Two reference polyamides were also prepared by reacting 4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl ether with the same comonomers under similar conditions. M?w and M?n of the resultant polymers were 8.0 × 104 and 5.5 × 104 g mol?1, respectively. Polymers resulting from PPAPE exhibited a nearly amorphous nature. These polyamides exhibited excellent organo‐solubility in a variety of polar solvents and possessed glass transition temperatures up to 200 °C. The 10% weight loss temperatures of these polymers were found to be up to 500 °C under a nitrogen atmosphere. The polymers obtained from PPAPE could be cast into transparent and flexible films from N,N‐dimethylacetamide solution. CONCLUSION: The results obtained show that the new PPAPE diamine can be considered as a good monomer to enhance the processability of its resultant aromatic polyamides while maintaining their high thermal stability. The observed characteristics of the polyamides obtained make them promising high‐performance polymeric materials. Copyright © 2009 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A novel polyarylene ether nitrile terminated with phthalonitrile (PEN‐t‐Ph) was synthesized by a simple solution polycondensation of biphenyl and hydroquinone with 2,6‐dichlorobenzonitrile, followed by termination with 4‐nitrophthalonitrile. The PEN‐t‐Ph/1,3,5‐Tri‐(3,4‐dicyanophenoxy) benzene (TPh) system was prepared by cure treatment. The phthalonitrile on PEN‐t‐Ph were thermally crosslinked with TPh in the presence of diamino diphenyl sulfone through cure treatment up to 280–340°C, which led to the transformation from thermoplastic polymers to thermosetting polymers. This is because the phthalonitrile on the PEN‐t‐Ph can react with TPh by forming phthalocyanine ring. The glass transition temperatures of the PEN‐t‐Ph/TPh system increased from 152.4°C to 194.7°C, and the initial decomposition temperature (ranging from 475.3°C to 544.0°C) increased by 68°C after thermal curing. Therefore, their thermal properties can be greatly enhanced by crosslinking. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci. 130: 1363‐1368, 2013  相似文献

A new dicarboxylic acid monomer, 2,6‐bis(1,3‐dioxo‐5‐carboxyisoindolin‐2‐yl)‐4,4′‐bis(trifluoromethyl)‐1,1′‐diphenyl ether (IFDPE), bearing two preformed imide rings was synthesized via a three‐step manner from 4‐(trifluoromethyl)phenol and 4‐chloro‐3,5‐dinitrobenzotrifluoride. The monomer IFDPE was then used to prepare a series of novel trifluoromethyl‐containing poly(amide–imide)s via a direct phosphorylation polycondensation with various aromatic diamines. The intrinsic viscosities of the polymers were found to be in the range 0.86–1.02 d/g. The weight‐ and number‐average molecular weights of the resulting polymers were determined with gel permeation chromatography. The polymeric samples were readily soluble in a variety of organic solvents and formed low‐color, flexible thin films via solution casting. The values of the absorption edge wavelength were determined by ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, and all of the resulting poly (amide–imide)s films exhibited high optical transparency. The resulting polymers showed moderately high glass‐transition temperatures in the range 295–324°C and had 10% weight loss temperatures in excess of 524°C in nitrogen. The crystallinity extents were qualitatively investigated with wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction measurements. Scanning electron microscopy images revealed an agglomerated bulk with nonuniformity on the surface. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2012  相似文献

In order to obtain polyamides with enhanced solubility and processability, as well as good mechanical and thermal properties, several novel polyamides containing sulfone‐ether linkages and xanthene cardo groups based on a new diamine monomer, 9,9‐bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]xanthene (BAPX), were investigated. The BAPX monomer was synthesized via a two‐step process consisting of an aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction of readily available 4‐chloronitrobenzene with 9,9‐bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)xanthene in the presence of potassium carbonate in N,N‐dimethylformamide, followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C. Four novel aromatic polyamides containing sulfone‐ether linkages and xanthene cardo groups with inherent viscosities between 0.98 and 1.22 dL g?1 were prepared by low‐temperature polycondensation of BAPX with 4,4′‐sulfonyldibenzoyl chloride, 4,4′‐[sulfonyl‐bis(4‐phenyleneoxy)]dibenzoyl chloride, 3,3′‐[sulfonyl‐bis(4‐phenyleneoxy)]dibenzoyl chloride and 4,4′‐[sulfonyl‐bis(2,6‐dimethyl‐1,4‐phenyleneoxy)]dibenzoyl chloride in N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc) solution containing pyridine. All these new polyamides were amorphous and readily soluble in various polar solvents such as DMAc and N‐methylpyrrolidone. These polymers showed relatively high glass transition temperatures in the range 238–298 °C, almost no weight loss up to 450 °C in air or nitrogen atmosphere, decomposition temperatures at 10% weight loss ranging from 472 to 523 °C and 465 to 512 °C in nitrogen and air, respectively, and char yields at 800 °C in nitrogen higher than 50 wt%. Transparent, flexible and tough films of these polymers cast from DMAc solution exhibited tensile strengths ranging from 78 to 87 MPa, elongations at break from 9 to 13% and initial moduli from 1.7 to 2.2 GPa. Primary characterization of these novel polyamides shows that they might serve as new candidates for processable high‐performance polymeric materials.
