Europe has experienced phenomenal growth in the market share of rigid vinyl windows. The American market has shown intensified interest in dark brown rigid vinyl windows. European experience with these pigmentation systems provides a useful data base for designing these dark brown shades suitable for use in North American climatic conditions. Criteria for pigment selection are discussed, including the suitability of both organic and inorganic pigments. Test data are provided for selected pigment systems to show their suitability with regard to several application parameters. The contribution of other additives to appearance retention of colored rigid PVC is discussed. Typical formulations are presented in detail.  相似文献

The potential for rapeseed oil in the world edible oil market is evident in the statistics of net exports of the principal vegetable oilseeds from primary producing countries. The last complete year for which figures are available is 1970, and in that year soybeans accounted for some 52% and rapeseed only 7.5% in oil equivalent. Since soybeans have only ca. 50% of the oil content of rapeseed, they are bought mainly for their yield of high protein meal. Conversely, rapeseed is bought for its oil content and produces a meal that is not only lower in protein but up to this time has been less acceptable as an ingredient in animal feed formulations. Fortunately for rapeseed, these problems are being tackled diligently and should be overcome in the near future. When this point has been reached, rapeseed will be a much stronger competitor in world markets for protein meal. The trend in the use of rapeseed oil in the Canadian domestic market is an indicator of the potential in world markets. It is displacing other edible oils that have dominated the Canadian market in the past. In the 1971 calendar year, 35.6% or 160.5 million pounds, i.e., 73,000 metric tons, of vegetable oil used in the manufacture of margarine, shortening and salad oils was rapeseed oil. Rapeseed oil is competing keenly with soybean oil in the Canadian market and in the future should be able to greatly enlarge its share of world trade. 分析了窗户热传递传热及太阳辐射得热的传热计算模型。依据南京地区典型年逐时气象参数 ,采用计算机逐时模拟得到窗户由热传递传热及太阳辐射引起的全年逐月能耗 ,得出减少南京地区全年空调建筑物由热传递及太阳辐射引起的窗户能耗的 3条措施 :1)建筑物长为南北向 ,宽为东西向 ,使得东西向窗户面积尽可能减少 ;2 )增加窗户或玻璃层数 ;3)用塑窗代替钢窗。  相似文献

The effect of thermochromic coatings of vanadium dioxide (VO2) on the fire performance of windows was experimentally tested. Prototypes were subjected to radiant heat and the radiation transmitted through the specimens was measured as a function of time. The results indicate that windows coated with VO2 can reduce radiative heat transfer from fires and thereby also reduce or prevent fire spread. The results clearly show that VO2 coatings on BK7 substrates hinder approximately 30% of the transmission of radiation from fire sources when compared with the performance of uncoated windows. It is expected that VO2 will not be solely implemented for the purpose of increasing fire performance of windows, but it will rather provide a secondary positive effect if such windows are realized for energy‐saving purposes.  相似文献

Progress in the synthesis and processing of chemical vapour deposition (CVD) diamond achieved at De Beers1 Industrial Diamond Division (Debid) has opened many of these applications by bringing to the market a diamond material this is available in large areas, in industrial quantities and with the high quality and reproducible properties needed to meet the demanding requirements of the industry. The objective of this paper is to summarize recent trends related to industrial kiln drying with especial emphasis on the drying of softwood dimension lumber in Canada. The paper explores future trends by analyzing the current market condition and wood products requirements. The paper also summarizes current research developments in the area of kiln lumber drying that was published by Canadian universities and research institutes. This includes basic research, such as wood physics and computer simulation, and applied research, such as non-conventional drying strategies and new technologies and sensors. A last note is also included to mention a kiln supervisor tool that was developed in Canada to analyze information related to kiln performance indicators. The kiln supervisor provides important trends for mills aiming to optimize their drying processes and realize gains without substantial investments in capital and other resources.  相似文献
