Correct procedures for donning and removing protective clothing are critical for preventing transmission of hazardous particulates in industrial and medical settings. The purpose of this study is to examine the levels of airborne particulate leakage of personal protective clothing after a series of exercises performed by volunteers who simulated industrial and medical workers. The fluorescent aerosols were employed as airborne particulates in a controlled chamber with ultraviolet (UV) light-detectable stickers. After an exposure-and-leakage test, the protective clothing was removed and photographed with UV-scanning to evaluate areas where fluorescent aerosols had adhered to the body through the clothing. An image processor installed with an entropy-based algorithm was developed to segment the fluorescent area and calculate its relative leakage ratio (Lr) in real time. This study addresses an optimal technique to confirm the safety of protective clothing removal and decontamination policy formulated for aerosol-transmitted situations. 相似文献

The German technical regulation covering safety engineering of hazardous substances (TRGS 300) describes an approach to the consideration of safety in plant handling hazardous substances. No comparable regulation has so far been adopted for biotechnological plant. This article examines the extent to which the fundamental concepts of TRGS 300 might be applicable to biotechnological installations. To this end, the properties of the substances (biological agents and hazardous substances) and the various components of the two kinds of plant are examined. An initial partial transfer of the safety engineering principles and the associated safety requirements of TRGS 300 to biotechnological plant is undertaken. This rather coarse approach does not reveal any reasons why a modified version of TRGS 300 should not be applicable to biotechnological installations. 相似文献

The scale minimisation of a chemical plant can increase its safety almost to the inherent safety level because the amounts of hazardous substances are greatly reduced. Because of the small amounts of hazardous substances usually present, miniplants, which have proved themselves in research and development, do not pose a serious danger to the environment. With regard to inherent safety, two concepts are presented which could help to avoid problems encountered in storage and transportation of hazardous substances and to lessen the hazardous potential of a chemical plant. 相似文献

通过比较研究国内职业卫生限值标准(GBZ 2.1—2007、GBZ/T160.1~160.85),结合文献查阅,对研究结果进行分析讨论。GBZ2.1—2007中被职业卫生检测与评价机构经常使用的限值标准仅50种左右,尚有94种有害因素无相应的标准检测方法;GBZ/T160.1~160.85中尚有65种有害因素在GBZ2.1—2007中无相应的职业接触限值。现行职业卫生限值标准在实际应用过程中存在不足,建议职业卫生标准工作人员及相关科研机构进行深入研究,对职业接触限值或标准检测方法进行修订与完善。 相似文献
