Metrological traceability chain for pH measurement results

The extent to which technical barriers to international trade caused by non-acceptance of chemical measurement results can be removed, largely depends on the success in building up national and international traceability structures also in metrology in chemistry. Achieving metrological comparability of measurement results requires the definition of metrological calibration hierarchies providing metrological traceability chains which enable the establishment of metrological traceability of measured quantity values to a common metrological reference [1]. For pH, over the last decade, work has been carried out in a number of countries to build up meteorological calibration hierarchies within a national framework. An overview on the metrological traceability chain for pH is given with focus on the primary measurement procedure of pH.     

Metrological Provision for Measuring Electromagnetic Properties of Radio Engineering Materials at HF and UHF

The system of metrological provisions for measuring electromagnetic properties of materials at HF and UHF within Russia, and particularly within SNIIM, is considered. The main technical characteristics of domestic standards for measuring the electromagnetic properties of materials are provided and ways for further improvement of metrological provisions for these forms of measurement at the national metrological centers in Russia are discussed.

应变传感器计量特性的校准方法

为了合理评价应变传感器（应变计）的计量特性,讨论了应变计的相关国家标准和技术规范中计量特性的不同之处,并以振弦式应变计为例,归纳出应变计的计量特性参数。对应变计校准现状进行分析,设计了一种基于激光干涉法的高精度校准装置,标距范围可以达到500mm,并提出了系列计量特性的高精度计算方法。通过试验对应变计的计量特性进行测试,并评估了综合误差的校准不确定度U=0.10%（包含因子k=2）。     

Role of National Pressure and Vacuum Metrology in Indian Industrial Growth and Their Global Metrological Equivalence

The pressure and vacuum metrology group of National Physical Laboratory (NPL) has a strong role in metrological research and development in India because of its importance to the nation’s economy as well as the constitutional obligation following NPL charter of developing and maintaining national standards of pressure and vacuum measurements. Although, the group is successfully fulfilling its national duties, providing national calibration and measurement services since last 35 years, admittedly still there is lack of awareness, misinformation, and penetration of Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMCs) to the end users, grass root level industries, academician and Govt. laboratories. Occasionally, we are receiving feedbacks of such grey areas of awareness. Therefore, it was considered appropriate to compile the information of all these CMCs, expertise, training potential and available developed technologies in this article. The present paper also describes the summary of some of the results obtained in recent international key comparison exercises which have helped us to improve the quality in pressure metrology with a measure of technical efficiency.
