An imperfectly B2 ordered Fe3Al aggregate was cast, thermomechanically hot rolled and finally annealed at 870 K. Subsequently, the specimen was rolled at 800–830 K to a strain of 80%. The microstructure and the crystallographic texture of the rolled polycrystalline sample was investigated within the range =20–80%. The microstructure consisted of flat, elongated grains. In numerous grains straight slip lines were detected. Even after =80% recrystallization was not observed. The rolling texture of Fe3Al considerably deviates from that of non-ordered body centered cubic (b.c.c.) alloys and pure b.c.c. metals. The {111}uvw texture fibre (7-fibre) was very pronounced, while the {hkl}110 fibre (-fibre) was very weak. The {112}110 orientation which represents the strongest texture component in non-ordered b.c.c. alloys did not occur at all. The textures are discussed in terms of the {110}111, {112}111, {112}111 and {123}111 slip systems. The contribution of crystallographic slip of the various types of potential slip systems was simulated by means of the Taylor theory.  相似文献

Subgrain boundaries were observed in creep-tested samples of single and polycrystalline CoO. The structure of the subgrain boundary was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). In single crystal CoO, subgrain boundaries are formed typically by two sets of a 0/2 1 1 0 dislocations on nonorthogonal {1 1 0} slip planes. In polycrystalline CoO, either single tilt boundaries or hexagonal networks formed by three sets of a 0/2 1 1 0 dislocations were observed. These observations suggest that dislocation climb is the predominant creep mechanism in single and polycrystalline CoO.  相似文献

The structure of the precipitation hardening alloy Cu 1.81 wt % Be 0.28 wt % Co has been studied as a function of ageing temperature and time, by transmission electron microscopy. The continuous precipitation sequence found is: supersaturated solid solution G.P. zones .The G.P. zone is an ordered platelet precipitate, which is coherent on {100} matrix planes and is nucleated in very high densities (>1024 m–3). The coherency stress fields, due to the misfit of the G.P. zone and matrix, overlap to produce a net matrix contrast along {110} 10, and give the characteristic tweed structure, which can be described by the kinematical theory of diffraction. The semi-coherent intermediate precipitate is nucleated by the G.P. zones and the transformation is characterized from the changes in the arrowhead structure produced in the electron diffraction patterns. No transformation of to the equilibrium precipitate is found for the ageing times investigated.  相似文献

The mechanism of continuous dissolution was studied using transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and hardness measurements. The metastable phase was identified in the first stage of dissolution nucleating at the - boundaries. Interface dislocations at the - boundaries forming a perpendicular net in the 110 directions were identified as of screw character and of Burgers vector b=1/2a 110. During dissolution a change of shape of precipitates occurs leading to their fragmentation and to a change of the direction of boundaries into 110 directions.  相似文献

Several etchants based on simple acids are proposed for revealing dislocations on {100}, {110} and {111} faces of MgO single crystals. Some acids under different etching conditions are shown to produce etch pyramids at decorated dislocations, while etch hillocks, spherulites and dendrites are formed under different conditions. With increasing concentration of H2SO4, 110 pits, circular pits, 100 pits, 110 pyramids as well as 100 pits, dendrites and spherulites, and hillocks are formed in that order. Etching characteristics of other acids also showed a more or less identical trend. The observations are interpreted with the assumption that with increasing concentration of acid, an effective undersaturation and later supersaturation is developed very close to the dissolving crystal face. The chemistry of the dissolution process is also discussed.  相似文献

Plastic deformation mode and its relation to tensile properties were investigated in retained phase of-eutectoid type Ti-Cr alloys. A plate-like single variant phase is induced during deformation of the most unstable phase having a minimum chromium content required to suppress martensitic transformation. A selected area electron diffraction pattern taken from a boundary region of the stress-induced phase plate can be explained by the idea that a single variant of phase is induced in a {3 3 2} 1 1 3 twin produced during deformation. Anisotropy in population of four phase variants decreases with increasing chromium content. On further increasing chromium content, deformation occurs by slip. Enhanced ductility is obtained in as-quenched Ti-Cr alloys accompanied by phase transformation or {332} 1 1 3 twinning during deformation, phase of as-quenched Ti-Cr alloys changes continuously from commensurate structure with sharp reflections to incommensurate structure with diffuse reflections with increasing chromium content. The obtained results in-eutectoid type Ti-Cr alloys are quite similar to those in-isomorphous type Ti-V alloys.  相似文献

Recrystallization textures in rolled copper specimens have been investigated so as to elucidate the mechanisms of cube texture formation. The specimens are single crystals with the orientations corresponding to the main components of the rolled textures, such as {112}111,{110}112, etc. and bicrystals consisting of such oriented crystals. The cube texture was not observed in any single crystal specimens, but observed in only two bicrystal specimens with {112}/111{100}001 and {110}112/{100}001 orientations. The formation of cube texture seems to require the existence of a cube oriented region in the deformed state, and the favourable oriented matrix to allow the growth of such nuclei.  相似文献

The nature of the interface, the orientation relationship of -SiC whisker (-SiCw)-Al combination, and the misfit dislocation structures at the -SiCw-Al interfaces in a -SiCw-Al composite have been observed by a high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). It was shown that quite a good bonding between the whisker and the aluminium was achieved due largely to the lattice match between SiC and aluminium at the interfaces. The orientation relationship between the whisker and the aluminium was {002}SiC{111}Al; 110SiC110Al. The interface was clean, faceted and semicoherent. The misfit dislocation cores were located in the whisker side away from the -SiCw-Al interfaces.  相似文献

Summary Supersonic flow past slowly oscillating pointed bodies of revolution is studied. Starting from the complete nonlinear potential equation an elementary linearized solution is discussed and it is shown how this solution together with the method of matched asymptotic expansions can be used to derive an elementary second-order slender body theory. This approach is further demonstrated for the oscillating cone and its range of validity is evaluated by comparison with other theoretical methods.
Zusammenfassung Es wird die Überschallströmung um langsam schwingende spitze Rotationskörper untersucht. Ausgehend von der vollständigen nichtlinearen Potentialgleichung wird zuerst eine elementare linearisierte Lösung besprochen und gezeigt, wie diese Lösung im Verein mit der Method of matched asymptotic expansions zur Herleitung einer elementaren Schlankkörpertheorie zweiter Ordnung verwendet werden kann. Die Theorie wird am Beispiel des schwingenden Kegels näher erläutert und mit anderen Methoden verglichen.

Anisotropy in the Knoop indentation hardness and the friction of diamond cones on calcium fluoride crystals has been investigated at experimental temperatures from 20 to 300° C. It is shown that the directions of minimum and maximum indentation hardness, on the (001) plane, are 110 and 100 respectively whilst the 1¯10 are harder than the 11¯2 directions on the (111) plane. Also, the sliding friction in the (001) plane is greatest in the 110 directions and least in the 100 and, on the (111) cleavage plane, [¯1¯12] sliding leads to higher friction than [11¯2]. The nature of anisotropy, for both hardness and friction measurements, does not change over the experimental temperature range covered in this work. Observations on the resultant deformation are made and these anisotropic properties are explained in terms of the effective resolved shear stresses developed on the {100} 011 primary slip systems at all experimental temperatures.  相似文献

Transmission electron microscopy has been used to investigate dislocation structures in deformed binary and ternary Zr3Al-based alloys. In the binary alloy deformed at temperatures between 293 and 673 K the dislocations in the Zr3Al phase consisted of a/31 1 2-type partial dislocations bounding superlattice intrinsic stacking fault on {1 1 1} planes. The {111} a/31 1 ¯2 stacking fault energy was approximately 2mJ m–2 at 673 K. In binary specimens deformed between 873 and 1073 K cube slip predominated. Dislocations consisted mainly of a/2 1 1 0 pairs separated by antiphase boundary. For this temperature range the {1 0 0} a/201 1 antiphase boundary energy was between 30 and 45 mJ m–2. Alloying with niobium or titanium was found to increase the {111} a/31 1¯2 stacking fault energy and thus increase the propensity for antiphase boundary-type dissociation.  相似文献

Single crystals of rhombohedral TiBiTe2 examined by transmission electron microscopy consist of large areas separated by {100}- and {110}-type twins. By measuring the rhombohedral angle from the splitting of diffraction patterns in the twin areas, we calculated the residual strain which remained after the transformation Oh D 3d, ranging from 1.2 to 12.2 %. Dislocations with Burgers vector (a/2) 1¯10 were mobile and the main slip system was (111) 1¯10. Planar defects with complex - fringe contrast were also observed.  相似文献

The stress-strain behaviour under compresion at constant strain rate of single crystals (051 and 122) compression axis) and polycrystalline samples of cuprous oxide have been examined at room temperature and hydrostatic pressure up to 12 kb and at atmospheric pressure and high temperature up to 600° C. At high environmental pressure, plastic flow occurs at 6 kb. At high temperatures and one atmosphere, extensive plastic deformation was observed after 500° C. The resultant slip planes were of the {110} and {100} types. Transmission electron microscopy of thin foils prepared from deformed specimens shows that the Burgers' vectors of the glide dislocations are of the 111, 110 and 100 types.  相似文献

Plastic-carbon replicas taken off the fracture surfaces of self-bonded SiC were found to have transparent flakes of-SiC attached. Certain of the flakes contained dislocations which were shown to have moved during the fracture process. The dislocations were shown to move on a {111} slip plane and to have a Burgers vectora/2 110.  相似文献

Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) along with electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (EPR) testing was performed on different grades of 304 stainless steel (0.01, 0.025, 0.05, and 0.07%C) in order to assess the sensitization and precipitation behaviour on different grain boundary misorientations. The materials were heat treated at 670°C for 50 h to subject the materials to the sensitization regime. The EPR data and TEM observations revealed that when the amount of carbon was increased the degree of sensitization increased along with the density of precipitates. Large angle misorientations (>15°) were prevalent in all the carbon content materials and the {1 1 0} grain surface orientation was found to be the major texturing orientation. The steels with lower carbon contents nucleated a few small precipitates on high angle grain boundaries, while larger amounts of carbides were observed on lower angle grain boundaries for the higher carbon contents. It was deemed that higher carbon contents required lower energies to nucleate and grow precipitates. A carbon content threshold was found (above 0.05% C) in which precipitates fully saturate the grain boundary. Precipitation followed the energies of different types of boundaries. The highest energy boundary (general random grain boundary) nucleated precipitates first, then precipitation followed on non-coherent twin boundaries, and was not observed on coherent twin boundaries. A critical nucleation energy, gb(crit.), was therefore found to exist at which precipitation will occur on a boundary. This value was found to be in the range of 16 mJ m-2相似文献

We have studied the magnetic state from a viewpoint of crystallographic features of the 1-D chain compound Ca0.824CuO2. A possible spin-hole arrangement in the magnetically coexisting state was determined by analyzing the local structural distortion in the CuO2 chain by means of a modulated-crystal-structure analysis. The essential periodic sequence expected is (: up- and down-spin, : hole), which can be regarded as a kind of spin-1/2 ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic alternating Heisenberg chain.  相似文献

The mechanisms of the thermally induced f c c-h c p transformation in Cu-Ge alloys have been investigated by hot-stage microscopy and TEM techniques. The growth and thickening processes for the transformation are best described in terms of isothermal martensite growth in which the h c p phase formation is controlled by the rapid propagation of fine platelets having thicknesses ranging from 5 to 30 nm. The transformation progresses by the repeated nucleation of thin platelets often in close proximity to existing platelets, thereby leading to a morphology termed fault bundles by other investigators. Individual h c p plates form by the rapid movement of a transformation interface defined by groups of partial dislocations emanating from grain boundaries and non-coherent twin boundaries, and gliding parallel to a given {1 1 1} matrix orientation. The nucleation kinetics are controlled by the thermally activated propagation of partial dislocations originating from boundary networks. It is concluded that short-range diffusion is necessary for the h c p phase to achieve an equilibrium composition, but does not control the rate at which platelets nucleate or propagate.  相似文献

A new method to measure the thermal diffusivity of liquids is presented. It requires determination of the time dependence of the thermal expansion of the liquid when it is subjected to a heat source at the top of the cell containing the liquid. The microstructures and room temperature mechanical properties of melt spun Ni-34.6 at % Al annealed at 1523 K for 2 h and cooled at different rates were studied. The annealed microstructures and bend ductility were sensitive to the cooling rate. The distribution and relative content of precipitation were important factors for enhancement of bend ductility of the annealed ribbon. The best bend ductility of the annealed ribbon reached 7.6%, which was considerably better than the as-melt spun ribbon. The emission and transmission of dislocations from ductile into to satisfy the need of deformation compatibility played a key role in the improvement of the ductility.  相似文献
