The axisymmetric vibration of annular and circular plates, isotropic or polar orthotropic, is analysed by an axisymmetric finite element. The features of the present study are that: (i) the formulation of the finite element is based on elasticity theory and has no assumptions as in the conventional plate theory-based analysis, yet is still simple and ready for use, and (ii) the boundary conditions are satisfied exactly and the significant effect of boundary conditions on the vibration frequency is demonstrated. Comparisons with alternative solutions show the accuracy of the present approach and the inadequacy of conventional methods in dealing with the vibration of annular and circular plates with simply supported boundary conditions.  相似文献

The free vibration characteristics of skew thick plates with arbitrary boundary conditions have been studied based on the three-dimensional, linear and small strain elasticity theory. The actual skew plate domain is mapped onto a basic cubic domain and the eigenvalue equation is then derived from the energy functional of the plate by using the Ritz method. A set of triplicate Chebyshev polynomial series multiplied by a boundary function chosen to satisfy the essential geometric boundary conditions of the plate is developed as the trial functions of the displacement components. The vibration modes are divided into antisymmetric and symmetric ones in the thickness direction and can be studied individually. The convergence and comparison studies show that rather accurate results can be obtained by using this approach. Parametric investigations on rhombic plates with fully clamped edges and completely free edges are performed in detail, with respect to the thickness-span ratio and skew angle. Some results known for the first time are reported, which may serve as the benchmark values for future numerical technique research.  相似文献

The paper presents a study of the free-flexural vibration analysis of circular plates continuous over point supports, partial internal curved supports, and with mixed-edge boundary conditions. An approximate model which combines the advantages of the Rayleigh-Ritz and the Lagrangian multiplier methods is developed for analyzing this class of circular plate problems. The Rayleigh-Ritz method is used to formulate plates with classical boundary conditions, such as free, simply-supported or clamped, while the Lagrangian multiplier method is used to handle plates with point supports, partial internal curved supports and mixed-edge boundary conditions. The admissible pb-2 Ritz function consists of the product of a two-dimensional polynomial and a basic function. The basic function is defined by the product of the equations of the prescribed piecewise-continuous boundary shape each raised to the power of 0, 1 or 2, corresponding to free, simply-supported or clamped edge, respectively. The set of functions automatically satisfies all the kinematic boundary conditions of the plate at the outset. The geometric boundary conditions associated with the internal supports and discontinuous edges are simulated using a sufficient number of closely-spaced point constraints. Numerical results for several selected plate problems are presented to demonstrate the various features and accuracy of the present method.  相似文献

This paper presents a simple, computationally efficient and relatively accurate numerical model for the study of free vibration behaviour of sectorial plates of arbitrary shape. The approach is developed based on the Rayleigh-Ritz method with a set of 2-D orthogonal polynomials as the admissible displacement function where the governing eigenvalue equation is derived by minimizing the energy functional with respect to each of the assumed unknown coefficients. In this paper, several examples are solved and the results obtained are compared with the established solutions to demonstrate the accuracy and flexibility of the present method. New results are also determined for several sectorial plates with different geometrical shapes and combinations of boundary conditions.  相似文献

The large amplitude free vibration of corrugated circular plates with shallow sinusoidal corrugations under uniformly static temperature changes is investigated. Based on the nonlinear bending theory of thin shallow shells, the governing equations for corrugated plates are established from Hamilton's principle. These partial differential equations are reduced to corresponding ordinary ones by elimination of the time variable with Kantorovich averaging method following an assumed harmonic time mode. Then by introducing the Green's function, the resulting dynamic compatible equation and corresponding boundary conditions are converted into equivalent integral equations. Taking the central maximum amplitude of the plate as the perturbation parameter, the perturbation-variation method is used to dynamic equilibrium equation with the aid of Computer Algebra Systems, Maple, from which, the third-order approximate characteristic relation of frequency vs. amplitude for nonlinear vibration of heated corrugated plates is obtained, and the frequency–amplitude characteristic curve is plotted for some specific values of temperature and geometrical parameters. It is found that the rise in temperature will decrease the frequency and vice versa. The nonlinear effect weakens when corrugations become deeper and dense. The present method can easily be expanded for the analysis of nonlinear vibration problem for other heated thin plates and shells.  相似文献

Free vibration analysis of rectangular plates with internal columns and elastic edge supports is presented using the powerful pb-2 Ritz method. Reddy's third order shear deformation plate theory is employed. The versatile pb-2 Ritz functions defined by the product of a two-dimensional polynomial and a basic function are taken as the admissible functions. Substituting these displacement functions into the energy functional and minimizing the total energy by differentiation, leads to a typical eigenvalue problem, which is solved by a standard eigenvalue solver. Stiffness and mass matrices are numerically integrated over the plate using the Gaussian quadrature. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method are demonstrated through several numerical examples by comparison and convergency studies. Many numerical results for reasonable natural frequency parameters of rectangular plates with different combinations of elastic boundary conditions and column supports at any locations are presented, which can be used as a benchmark for future studies in this area.  相似文献

This paper studies the vibration behaviour of circular Mindlin plates with multiple concentric elastic ring supports. Utilizing the domain decomposition technique, a circular plate is divided into several annular segments and one core circular segment at the locations of the elastic ring supports. The governing differential equations and the solutions of these equations are presented for the annular and circular segments based on the Mindlin-plate theory. A homogenous equation system that governs the vibration of circular Mindlin plates with elastic ring supports is derived by imposing the essential and natural boundary and segment interface conditions. The first-known exact vibration frequencies for circular Mindlin plates with multiple concentric elastic ring supports are obtained and the modal shapes of displacement fields and stress resultants for several selected cases are presented. The influence of the elastic ring support stiffness, locations, plate boundary conditions and plate thickness ratios on the vibration behaviour of circular plates is discussed.  相似文献

This paper presents the natural frequencies of stepped thickness square and rectangular plates together with the mode shapes of vibration. The transverse deflection of a stepped thickness plate is written in a series of the products of the deflection functions of beams parallel to the edges satisfying the boundary conditions, and the frequency equation of the plate is derived by the energy method. By use of the frequency equation, the natural frequencies (the eigenvalues of vibration) and the mode shapes are calculated numerically in good accuracy for square and rectangular plates with edges simply supported or elastically restrained against rotation, having square, circular or elliptical stepped thickness, from which the effects of the stepped thickness on the vibration are studied.  相似文献

应用耗散能原理建立了复合材料层合板的阻尼预测分析模型,对复合材料层合板进行三维有限元模态分析,求出各个模态下的应力、应变分量。根据模态分析结果,从单向复合材料的阻尼性能参数出发,利用层合板应变能、耗散能和结构模态阻尼的关系求出各个模态对应的模态阻尼损耗因子。利用该方法,分别计算了单向层合板和对称层合板的结构模态阻尼损耗因子。数值计算结果与已有的理论分析和试验结果相比吻合较好,从而验证了该方法的合理性,该方法还可以比较三维应力分量对阻尼的贡献。  相似文献

The present work is to investigate the variation in the natural frequency of a rectangular plate with the change in position of cut outs of different sizes along its diagonal and major axis line by considering different aspect ratios of plates. In this regard the free vibration analysis of an isotropic rectangular plate of various aspect ratios with different sizes of multiple circular and rectangular cut-outs is carried out by using an Independent coordinate coupling method (ICCM) under simply supported boundary condition. The ICCM utilizes independent coordinates separately for plate domain and hole domain, in which the reduced mass and stiffness matrices can be derived, by matching the deflection conditions for each hole imposed on the expressions. The resulting equation is useful for the calculation of the Eigen values. The position, size, and number of cutouts have been varied in all the possible ways to investigate their effects on the natural frequency of the rectangular plate.  相似文献

In this study, the vibration characteristics and sound radiation of strip plates with finite width and infinite length are investigated numerically in order to analyze the vibration and sound radiation of structures consisting of many stiffened and double-layered plates. The waveguide finite element approach, which is effective for waveguide structures, is applied as a numerical scheme. The sound power and radiation efficiencies for an unstiffened plate are calculated numerically via coupling boundary elements to the WFEs. Longitudinal stiffeners and additional upper plates are included in the plate model to investigate the effect of stiffeners and an upper plate on sound power and radiation efficiency. In this study, it is found that the stiffeners contribute differently to plate vibration and sound radiation, and that the radiation efficiencies of the stiffened and double plates are larger than those of the unstiffened plate due to the presence of the stiffeners.  相似文献

基于Reissner-Mindlin一阶剪切变形假设(First-order shear deformation theory,FSDT),考虑碳纳米管(Carbon nanotube,CNT)功能梯度材料的不均匀性,建立CNT梯度增强复合薄板结构的自由振动分析模型,模型中考虑了CNT增强体的分布形式、体积率、边界条件及结构的边厚比等因素对该复合薄板结构自由振动响应的影响。克服了经典板理论中不考虑剪切应力的缺陷,通过四边简支(Simply supported,SSSS)板的振动响应特征验证模型的准确性,利用所建模型对CNT梯度增强薄板结构进行了自由振动分析及模态分析。研究表明:CNT增强复合薄板结构的自振频率随着CNT体积率的增加发生几乎线性化的增长;不同的CNT分布形式对振动频率的影响:X型分布的功能梯度板的自振频率最大,O型分布的功能梯度板的自振频率最小,均一及V型分布的固有频率大小介于两者之间。边界条件对板振动形态的影响:由于四边固支(Clamped,CCCC)的边界条件比SSSS约束性更强,其对于边厚比的变化更灵敏,并且随着宽厚比值的增大,边界条件产生的影响越来越大。CNT增强体分布形式、体积率、结构边厚比及边界条件对复合薄板结构自由振动的频率及振动模态有显著的影响。  相似文献

A study of free vibration of rectangular Mindlin plates is presented. The analysis is based on the Chebyshev pseudospectral method, which uses test functions that satisfy the boundary conditions as basis functions. The result shows that rapid convergence and accuracy as well as the conceptual simplicity are achieved when the pseudospectral method is applied to the solution of eigenvalue problems. Numerical examples of rectangular Mindlin plates with clamped and simply supported boundary conditions are provided for various aspect ratios and thickness-to-length ratios.  相似文献

This paper deals with the effects of initial geometric imperfections and in-plane boundary conditions on the large-amplitude vibration behavior of angle- and cross-ply rectangular thin plates. It is found that the presence of imperfection amplitudes of the order of only half the total laminated-plate thickness may significantly raise the vibration frequencies and change the large-amplitude vibration behavior from the well-known hard-spring to soft-spring behavior. The effects of fibre angles and bending-stretching coupling for angle-ply plates and Young's moduli ratios and number of layers for antisymmetric cross-ply plates are examined.  相似文献

This paper presents the Levy method to investigate the vibration behaviour of multi-span rectangular plates. The Levy method is applicable and analytical for rectangular plates with at least two parallel simply supported edges. The continuity at an interface between two spans is maintained by imposing both the essential and natural boundary conditions along the interface. The impact of the internal line supports on the vibration behaviour of the plates is investigated by varying both the number of internal lines and the line positions. Results for the vibration of two- and three-span rectangular plates are presented, in which the first-known exact solutions for plates involving free edges are included. The present results may serve as benchmark solutions for such plates.  相似文献

This paper presents a numerical analysis of the axisymmetric free vibration of moderately thick annular plates using the differential quadrature method (DQM). The plates are described by Mindlin’s first-order shear-deformation theory. The first five axisymmetric natural frequencies are presented for uniform annular plates, of various radii and thickness ratios, with nine possible combinations of free, clamped and simply supported boundary conditions at the inner and outer edges of the plates. The accuracy of the method is established by comparing the DQM results with some exact and finite element numerical solutions and, therefore, the present DQM results could serve as a benchmark for future reference. The convergence characteristics of the method for thick plate eigenvalue problems are investigated and the versatility and simplicity of the method is established.  相似文献
