增压柴油机燃用天然气合成油排放特性的研究   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
对增压中冷柴油机燃用纯天然气合成油(Gas-to-Liquids,GTL)、柴油/GTL混合燃料的排放进行了外特性、负荷特性和欧洲ECE R49十三工况法的试验研究,并与柴油的排放进行了对比。研究表明:燃用GTL在所有工况下都能够有效降低NOx、烟度和PM,且掺混比例愈大,效果愈明显,CO和HC也有一定的改善;在ECE R49十三工况下纯GTL的NOx和PM排放分别降低了23.7%和27.6%,CO和HC分别降低了16.6%和12.9%;发动机工况对增压柴油机燃用所有燃料的排放有较大影响。结果表明GTL是柴油机有潜力的低排放代用燃料。  相似文献

Previous experimental studies on diesel engine have demonstrated the potential of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) as an in‐cylinder NOx control method. Although an increase in EGR at constant boost pressure (substitution EGR) is accompanied with an increase in particulate matter (PM) emissions in the conventional diesel high‐temperature combustion (HTC), the recirculation of exhaust gases supplementary to air inlet gas (supplemental EGR) by increasing the boost pressure has been suggested as a way to reduce NOx emissions while limiting the negative impact of EGR on PM emissions. In the present work, a low‐pressure (LP) EGR loop is implemented on a standard 2.0 l automotive high‐speed direct injection (HSDI) turbocharged diesel engine to study the influence of high rates of supplemental cooled EGR on NOx and PM emissions. Contrary to initial high‐pressure (HP) EGR loop, the gas flow through the turbine is unchanged while varying the EGR rate. Thus, by closing the variable geometry turbine (VGT) vanes, higher boost pressure can be reached, allowing the use of high rates of supplemental EGR. Furthermore, recirculated exhaust gases are cooled under 50°C and water vapour is condensed and taken off from the recirculated gases. An increase in the boost pressure at a given inlet temperature and dilution ratio (DR) results in most cases an increase in NOx emissions and a decrease in PM emissions. The result of NOx–PM trade‐off, while varying the EGR rate at fixed inlet temperature and boost pressure depends on the operating point: it deteriorates at low load conditions, but improves at higher loads. Further improvement can be obtained by increasing the injection pressure. A decrease by approximately 50% of NOx emissions while maintaining PM emission level, and brake specific fuel consumption can be obtained with supplemental cooled EGR owing to an LP EGR loop, compared with the initial engine configuration (HP moderately cooled EGR). Effects of Fischer-Tropsch (F-T) diesel fuel on the combustion and emission characteristics of a single-cylinder direct injection diesel engine under different fuel delivery advance angles were investigated. The experimental results show that F-T diesel fuel exhibits shorter ignition delay, lower peak values of premixed burning rate, lower combustion pressure and pressure rise rate, and higher peak value of diffusion burning rate than conventional diesel fuel when the engine remains unmodified. In addition, the unmodified engine with F-T diesel fuel has lower brake specific fuel consumption and higher effective thermal efficiency, and presents lower HC, CO, NO x and smoke emissions than conventional diesel fuel. When fuel delivery advance angle is retarded by 3 crank angle degrees, the combustion duration is obviously shortened; the peak values of premixed burning rate, the combustion pressure and pressure rise rate are further reduced; and the peak value of diffusion burning rate is further increased for F-T diesel fuel operation. The effects of different ethanol–diesel blended fuels on the performance and emissions of diesel engines have been evaluated experimentally and compared in this paper. The purpose of this project is to find the optimum percentage of ethanol that gives simultaneously better performance and lower emissions. The experiments were conducted on a water-cooled single-cylinder Direct Injection (DI) diesel engine using 0% (neat diesel fuel), 5% (E5–D), 10% (E10–D), 15% (E15–D), and 20% (E20–D) ethanol–diesel blended fuels. With the same rated power for different blended fuels and pure diesel fuel, the engine performance parameters (including power, torque, fuel consumption, and exhaust temperature) and exhaust emissions [Bosch smoke number, CO, NOx, total hydrocarbon (THC)] were measured. The results indicate that: the brake specific fuel consumption and brake thermal efficiency increased with an increase of ethanol contents in the blended fuel at overall operating conditions; smoke emissions decreased with ethanol–diesel blended fuel, especially with E10–D and E15–D. CO and NOx emissions reduced for ethanol–diesel blends, but THC increased significantly when compared to neat diesel fuel.  相似文献

Biodiesel is an alternative fuel consisting of the alkyl esters of fatty acids from vegetable oils or animal fats. Vegetable oils are produced from numerous oil seed crops (edible and non-edible), e.g., rapeseed oil, linseed oil, rice bran oil, soybean oil, etc. Research has shown that biodiesel-fueled engines produce less carbon monoxide (CO), unburned hydrocarbon (HC), and particulate emissions compared to mineral diesel fuel but higher NOx emissions. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is effective to reduce NOx from diesel engines because it lowers the flame temperature and the oxygen concentration in the combustion chamber. However, EGR results in higher particulate matter (PM) emissions. Thus, the drawback of higher NOx emissions while using biodiesel may be overcome by employing EGR. The objective of current research work is to investigate the usage of biodiesel and EGR simultaneously in order to reduce the emissions of all regulated pollutants from diesel engines. A two-cylinder, air-cooled, constant speed direct injection diesel engine was used for experiments. HCs, NOx, CO, and opacity of the exhaust gas were measured to estimate the emissions. Various engine performance parameters such as thermal efficiency, brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC), and brake specific energy consumption (BSEC), etc. were calculated from the acquired data. Application of EGR with biodiesel blends resulted in reductions in NOx emissions without any significant penalty in PM emissions or BSEC.  相似文献

Transport vehicles greatly pollute the environment through emissions such as CO, CO2, NOx, SOx, unburnt or partially burnt HC and particulate emissions. Fossil fuels are the chief contributors to urban air pollution and major source of green house gases (GHGs) and considered to be the prime cause behind the global climate change. Biofuels are renewable, can supplement fossil fuels, reduce GHGs and mitigate their adverse effects on the climate resulting from global warming. This paper presents the results of performance and emission analyses carried out in an unmodified diesel engine fueled with Pongamia pinnata methyl ester (PPME) and its blends with diesel. Engine tests have been conducted to get the comparative measures of brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC), brake specific energy consumption (BSEC) and emissions such as CO, CO2, HC, NOx to evaluate the behaviour of PPME and diesel in varying proportions. The results reveal that blends of PPME with diesel up to 40% by volume (B40) provide better engine performance (BSFC and BSEC) and improved emission characteristics.  相似文献

A new combustion model diesel/methanol compound combustion (DMCC) is presented, in which methanol is injected into manifold and ignited by certain amount of diesel fuel. The results showed that DMCC remarkably decreased the emission of NOx and the smoke, but increased the emission of HC, CO and PM. However, HC, CO and NOx were dramatically decreased with a catalytic converter, and PM was also decreased compared with that of diesel engine. The aim of this study is to investigate the suitability of isobutanol–diesel fuel blends as an alternative fuel for the diesel engine, and experimentally determine their effects on the engine performance and exhaust emissions, namely break power, break specific fuel consumption (BSFC), break thermal efficiency (BTE) and emissions of CO, HC and NOx. For this purpose, four different isobutanol–diesel fuel blends containing 5, 10, 15 and 20% isobutanol were prepared in volume basis and tested in a naturally aspirated four stroke direct injection diesel engine at full -load conditions at the speeds between 1200 and 2800 rpm with intervals of 200 rpm. The results obtained with the blends were compared to those with the diesel fuel as baseline. The test results indicate that the break power slightly decreases with the blends containing up to 10% isobutanol, whereas it significantly decreases with the blends containing 15 and 20% isobutanol. There is an increase in the BSFC in proportional to the isobutanol content in the blends. Although diesel fuel yields the highest BTE, the blend containing 10% isobutanol results in a slight improvement in BTE at high engine speeds. The results also reveal that, compared to diesel fuel, CO and NOx emissions decrease with the use of the blends, while HC emissions increase considerably.  相似文献

The effect of synthetic diesel fuel made from natural gas (Gas to Liquid, GTL) on the engine performances (such as power, efficiency and emission) was carried out on one Euro III common rail (CR) heavy duty (HD) diesel engine without any modification. The results showed that the engine fueled with GTL had some variations compared with the one fueled with petroleum-based low sulfur diesel fuel (sulfur content less 50 ppm). The maximum torque and power were decreased by 1.3% and 1.9%, respectively. The specific fuel consumption increased in volume but had no change in mass. Under the load characteristics, the NOx, CO and THC were reduced by 13%, 55% and 55%, respectively. During the ESC cycle test, the NOx, CO, THC and PM were reduced by 5.2%, 19.3%, 19.8% and 33%, respectively.  相似文献

An ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) fuel and a synthetic gas-to-liquid (GTL) fuel, besides different types of standard and reformed EGR, were evaluated in a single-cylinder, direct injection, diesel engine equipped with hydrocarbon-selective catalytic reduction (HC-SCR) aftertreatment system. The results obtained were statistically analysed (at 95% statistical significance) to identify the most significant factors that affect NOx emissions and to search for the optimum operation conditions in order to minimize these emissions. For that purpose, a fully crossed factorial experimental design was used, including two different engine speeds (1200 and 1500 rpm), two engine loads (25% and 50%), and four EGR/REGR ratios (0%, 10%, 20% and 30%) resulting in almost one hundred tests. An optimal combination of fuel type, REGR type and REGR ratio was proved to reduce around 89–95% of the reference NOx emissions. In general, at 25% engine load GTL fuelling combined with the reformed EGR with the highest hydrogen content was found the most desirable, as the hydrogen sharply increased the NOx conversion in the SCR catalyst. Differently, at 50% load standard EGR was sufficient to reach high NOx reductions. These findings may be used for the implementation of a system on-board capable to switch from EGR to REGR, which will help engine manufacturers to meet the future emission regulations.  相似文献

An experimental study of a turbocharged diesel engine operating on dimethyl ether (DME) was conducted. The combustion and emission characteristics of the DME engine were investigated. The results show that the maximum torque and power of DME are greater than those of diesel, particularly at low speeds; the brake specific fuel consumption of DME is lower than that of diesel at low and middle engine speeds, and the injection delay of DME is longer than that of diesel. However, the maximum cylinder pressure, maximum pressure rise rate and combustion noises of the DME engine are lower than those of diesel. The combustion velocity of DME is faster than that of diesel, resulting in a shorter combustion duration of DME. Compared with the diesel engine, NO x emission of the DME engine is reduced by 41.6% on ESC data. This paper investigates the effects of turbocharger on the performance of a diesel engine using diesel fuel and biodiesel in terms of brake power, torque, brake specific consumption and thermal efficiency, as well as CO and NOx emissions. For this aim, a naturally aspirated four-stroke direct injection diesel engine was tested with diesel fuel and neat biodiesel, which is rapeseed oil methyl ester, at full load conditions at the speeds between 1200 and 2400 rpm with intervals of 200 rpm. Then, a turbocharger system was installed on the engine and the tests were repeated for both fuel cases. The evaluation of experimental data showed that the brake thermal efficiency of biodiesel was slightly higher than that of diesel fuel in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged conditions, while biodiesel yielded slightly lower brake power and torque along with higher fuel consumption values. It was also observed that emissions of CO in the operations with biodiesel were lower than those in the operations with diesel fuel, whereas NOx emission in biodiesel operation was higher. This study reveals that the use of biodiesel improves the performance parameters and decreases CO emissions of the turbocharged engine compared to diesel fuel.  相似文献

Fossil fuel run diesel engines are being favored in light, medium and heavy duty applications as they exhibit higher fuel conversion efficiencies. Direct injection diesels are still facing challenges to obtain trade-off between oxides of nitrogen and particulate emissions. There are sophisticated strategies such as common rail direct injection, particulate filters with associated sensors and actuators but limited to expensive comfort vehicles. In the present experimental study, a mechanically operated simple component, variable timing fuel injection cam, is designed for a 510 cc automotive type naturally aspirated, water-cooled, direct injection diesel engine. Modifications in the fuel injection cam and gear train are carried out to suit the existing engine configuration. Variable speed tests are carried out for testing the efficacy of component on both engine and chassis dynamometers for performance and emissions. It is observed that the engine which is already retarded could further be retarded with variable timing fuel injection cam. Significant reductions in NOx and smoke emission levels are achieved. Combined effect of VIC with 7% EGR could reduce CO by about 88%, HC + NOx by 37% and PM emissions by 90%. The Engine incorporated with the designed component and EGR, successfully satisfied the existing emission norms with improved power and specific fuel consumption.  相似文献

In this work, the combustion and emission characteristics were studied in a 186FA diesel engine fuelled with biodiesel–diesel to examine the effect of the percentage of biodiesel in the blends, and the experimental investigation was conducted with various blending ratios of biodiesel under different operating conditions. In addition, the combustion noise of the diesel engine fuelled with biodiesel–diesel was analysed, and then the emission characteristics of NOx and soot were studied through simulation analysis where the formation rate and distribution of NOx and soot for pure diesel and B20 fuel were described. Based on the simulation data of the original diesel engine fuelled with B20 fuel, the swirl ratio and fuel injection timing were optimised and the technical measures were suggested to reduce the two different emissions simultaneously. The simulation results showed the emission characteristics were optimal when the swirl ratio was 2.7 and fuel injection timing was 7.5° degree of crank angle before top dead centre respectively.  相似文献

This paper deals with the experimental study that aims to examine the effects of octane number of three different fuel oxygenates on exhaust emissions of a typical spark ignition engine. Three commonly used oxygenates, namely methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), methanol, and ethanol, which were blended with a base unleaded fuel in three ratios (10, 15 and 20 vol%), were investigated. The engine emissions of CO, HC, and NOx were measured under a variety of engine operating conditions using an engine dynamometer set‐up. It is found that generally as the octane number of the fuel increases the CO and HC emissions decrease but the NOx emission increases for all three blends. Further, for the leaded fuel (RON of 92), as the speed of the engine increases the CO and NOx emissions decrease but the HC emission decreases. A similar trend was found for MTBE blends also. In this study, combustion and emissions characteristics of a turbocharged compression ignition engine fueled with dimethyl ether (DME) and biodiesel blends are experimentally investigated. The effects of nozzle parameter on combustion and emissions are evaluated. The result shows that with the increase of DME proportion, ignition delay, the peak in-cylinder pressure, peak heat-release rate, peak in-cylinder temperature decrease, and their phases retard. Compared to the nozzle 6 × 0.40 mm, the peak cylinder pressure and peak heat-release rate are higher with nozzle 6 × 0.35 mm, and their phases are advanced. Increased DME proportion in fuel blends causes greater differences. Compared to biodiesel, NOx emissions of blends significantly decrease; HC emissions and CO emissions increase slightly. DME–biodiesel blends can be used as an alternative in a turbocharged CI engine. To obtain low NOx emissions and a soft engine operation, for high DME proportion blended fuels, nozzle of 6 × 0.40 mm adopted.  相似文献

Biomass based oxygenated fuels have been identified as possible replacement of fossil fuel due to pollutant emission reduction and decrease in over-reliance on fossil fuel energy. In this study, 4 v% water-containing ethanol was mixed with (65–90%) diesel using (5–30%) biodiesel (BD) and 1 v% butanol as stabilizer and co-solvent respectively. The fuels were tested against those of biodiesel–diesel fuel blends to investigate the effect of addition of water-containing ethanol for their energy efficiencies and pollutant emissions in a diesel-fueled engine generator. Experimental results indicated that the fuel blend mix containing 4 v% of water-containing ethanol, 1 v% butanol and 5–30 v% of biodiesel yielded stable blends after 30 days standing. BD1041 blend of fuel, which composed of 10 v% biodiesel, 4 v% of water-containing ethanol and 1 v% butanol demonstrated −0.45 to 1.6% increase in brake-specific fuel consumption (BSFC, mL kW−1 h−1) as compared to conventional diesel. The better engine performance of BD1041 was as a result of complete combustion, and lower reaction temperature based on the water cooling effect, which reduced emissions to 2.8–6.0% for NOx, 12.6–23.7% particulate matter (PM), 20.4–23.8% total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and 30.8–42.9% total BaPeq between idle mode and 3.2 kW power output of the diesel engine generator. The study indicated that blending diesel with water-containing ethanol could achieve the goal of more green sustainability.  相似文献

The effects of biodiesel (rapeseed methyl ester, RME) and different diesel/RME blends on the diesel engine NOx emissions, smoke, fuel consumption, engine efficiency, cylinder pressure and net heat release rate are analysed and presented. The combustion of RME as pure fuel or blended with diesel in an unmodified engine results in advanced combustion, reduced ignition delay and increased heat release rate in the initial uncontrolled premixed combustion phase. The increased in-cylinder pressure and temperature lead to increased NOx emissions while the more advanced combustion assists in the reduction of smoke compared to pure diesel combustion. The lower calorific value of RME results in increased fuel consumption but the engine thermal efficiency is not affected significantly. When similar percentages (% by volume) of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) are used in the cases of diesel and RME, NOx emissions are reduced to similar values, but the smoke emissions are significantly lower in the case of RME. The retardation of the injection timing in the case of pure RME and 50/50 (by volume) blend with diesel results in further reduction of NOx at a cost of small increases of smoke and fuel consumption.  相似文献

Emulsions of diesel and water are often promoted as being able to overcome the difficulty of simultaneously reducing emissions of both oxidises of nitrogen (NOx) and particulate matter from diesel engines. In this paper we present measurements of the performance and NOx and hydrocarbon emissions of a diesel engine operating on a typical diesel oil emulsion and examine through the use of heat release analysis differences found during its combustion relative to standard diesel in the same engine. While producing similar or greater thermal efficiency and improved NOx and hydrocarbon emission outcomes, use of the emulsion also results in an increase in brake specific fuel consumption. Use of the emulsion is also shown to result in a retarded fuel injection, but smaller ignition delay for the same engine timing. As a result of these changes, cylinder pressures and temperatures are lower.  相似文献

A 3-cylinder port fuel injection engine was adopted to study engine power, torque, fuel economy, emissions including regulated and non-regulated pollutants and cold start performance with the fuel of low fraction methanol in gasoline. Without any retrofit of the engine, experiments show that the engine power and torque will decrease with the increase fraction of methanol in the fuel blends under wide open throttle (WOT) conditions. However, if spark ignition timing is advanced, the engine power and torque can be improved under WOT operating conditions. Engine thermal efficiency is thus improved in almost all operating conditions. Engine combustion analyses show that the fast burning phase becomes shorter, however, the flame development phase is a little delay.When methanol/gasoline fuel blends being used, the engine emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC) decrease, nitrogen oxides (NOx) changes little prior to three-way catalytic converter (TWC). After TWC, the conversion efficiencies of HC, CO and NOx are better. The non-regulated emissions, unburned methanol and formaldehyde, increase with the fraction of methanol, engine speed and load, and generally the maximum concentrations are less than 200 ppm. Experimental tests further prove that methanol and formaldehyde can be oxidized effectively by TWC. During the cold start and warming-up process at 5 °C, with methanol addition into gasoline, HC and CO emissions decrease obviously. HC emission reduces more than 50% in the first few seconds (cold start period) and nearly 30% in the following warming-up period, CO reduces nearly 25% when the engine is fueled with M30. Meanwhile, the temperature of exhaust increases, which is good to activate TWC.  相似文献
