Routing Management in the PSTN and the Internet: A Historical Perspective

Two highly visible public communication networks are the public-switched telephone network (PSTN) and the Internet. While they typically provide different services and the basic technologies underneath are different, both networks rely heavily on routing for communication between any two points. In this paper, we present a brief overview of routing mechanisms used in the PSTN and the Internet from a historical perspective. In particular, we discuss the role of management for the different routing mechanisms, where and how one is similar or different from the other, as well as where the management aspect is heading in an inter-networked environment of the PSTN and the Internet where voice over IP (VoIP) services are offered.

开发基于Internet的信息系统实现对省级科技基金项目管理提供全程、全方位的支持是提高其管理水平的有效手段。该文在分析了基于Internet的信息系统的特点及对省级科技基金项目管理工作带来变革的基础上，结合某省科技基金项目管理实践，提出了一个基于Internet的省级科技基金项目管理系统的总体框架，该系统已经在实际中得到应用。     

The Neural Knowledge DNA Based Smart Internet of Things

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has gained significant attention from industry as well as academia during the past decade. Smartness, however, remains a substantial challenge for IoT applications. Recent advances in networked sensor technologies, computing, and machine learning have made it possible for building new smart IoT applications. In this paper, we propose a novel approach: the Neural Knowledge DNA based Smart Internet of Things that enables IoT to extract knowledge from past experiences, as well as to store, evolve, share, and reuse such knowledge aiming for smart functions. By catching decision events, this approach helps IoT gather its own daily operation experiences, and it uses such experiences for knowledge discovery with the support of machine learning technologies. An initial case study is presented at the end of this paper to demonstrate how this approach can help IoT applications become smart: the proposed approach is applied to fitness wristbands to enable human action recognition.

Though a leader in technology innovation, this multi-billion-dollar semiconductor company struggles with traditional knowledge management efforts in technical support owing to the sheer complexity and dynamism of their intellectual property. Add to this the back-end knowledge linkages to suppliers and customer-driven knowledge channels sprouting like weeds and a managed ecosystem perspective emerges. Implications of these emerging phenomena for knowledge management theory and practice are discussed.

基于本体的按需知识管理系统研究与实现

针对企业产品创新环境下灵活的知识生命全周期管理,该文提出了一个基于本体的按需知识管理系统（OBODKMS）,该系统通过企业本体来建立元知识（案例等）索引,用户通过对企业本体、元知识模板的定制实现OBODKMS底层知识结构的可重构性。同时,利用工作流技术和智能主体技术,建立了基于虚拟团队协作的知识获取、知识生产和知识进化模型。在OBODKMS中,采用推一拉的知识检索模式,并引入知识统计和可视化技术,提高了知识管理的效率和质量。该文论述了如何构造基于本体的按需知识管理系统、基础设施及其工具。     

物联网技术在校园的服务和管理中的应用研究

Information Systems Frontiers in Knowledge Management

There can be no doubt that contemporary developments in information technology, including information systems developments, have changed business and organizational practices in many ways. For example, the world's financial systems are so closely coupled that that a small decrease in interest rates in the United States may cause a disproportionately large rise in stock market values in South East Asia. The information revolution has created entirely new ways of marketing, such that we now see very changed relationships between producers, distributors and customers. It has also led to changes in the way in which organizations are managed, the way in which they are structured, and the way in which they deal with their products and services. In particular, it creates a number of opportunities and challenges that affect the way in which data is converted into information and then into knowledge. It poses many opportunities for management of the environment for these transfers, such as to enhance the productivity of individuals and organizations. This paper discuses interactions and intersections between organizations, information technology and information systems, and the ways in which the creative use of information systems changes organizational environments.
