Conclusions Zirconium-based hollow spherical granules are promising materials that can be used as fillers when producing refractory thermal insulation products. The investigated granules (that were obtained according to the method of blowing through a melt) are formed mainly by the monoclinic modification of ZrO2. Addition of Y2O3 as a stabilizer of ZrO2 in the form of a mechanical mixture did not give the desirable effect.All the experimental granules are hollow particles and most of them are spherical; their main body is opaque and they have porous walls. The most regular shape is observed in the granules obtained using the baddeleyite concentrate. They are characterized by the thinnest walls and a uniform-wall thickness. Among the investigated granules, the best thermomechanical properties are exhibited by the granules obtained using the baddeleyite concentrate.Translated from Ogneupory, No. 1, pp. 17–20, January, 1990. 相似文献
