This paper presents a numerical investigation of laminar mixed convection cooling of heat source embedded on the bottom wall of an enclosure filled with nanofluids. The transport equations for a Newtonian fluid are solved numerically with a finite volume approach using the SIMPLE algorithm. The influences of governing parameters, namely, Rayleigh number location and geometry of the heat source, the type of nanofluid and solid volume fraction of nanoparticles on the cooling performance is studied. The present results are validated by favourable comparisons with previously published results. Studies of the microstructure and permeability of extruded ribbons of polypropylene (PP)/ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) and polyethylene (PE)/polyamide-6 (PA-6) blends have shown that it is possible to control the flow-induced morphology to generate discontinuous overlapping platelets of EVOH or PA-6 dispersed phase in a PP or HDPE matrix phase. The effects of the following factors on morphology development and blend properties were considered: blending sequence, melt temperature, composition, compatibilizer level, die design, screw type, and cooling conditions. The impact properties and interfacial adhesion of laminar blends of PP and EVOH were improved without diminishing the barrier properties. The oxygen and toluene permeability of extruded samples with EVOH content of 25 vol% resembled values obtained with multilayer systems. Processing conditions had a major influence on the morphology of blends of high density polyethylene and polyamide-6 (HDPE/PA-6), and, under special processing conditions, laminar morphology was obtained in this system. The toluene permeability of extruded ribbons of HDPE/PA-6 blends was in the range obtained with multilayer systems. 相似文献

Optimization of a fluid distributing tube network plays a critical role in the operation efficiency and energy conservation of a cooling system. In this paper, we analyze the effect of multi-dimension on the structure of a fluid distributing tube network for cooling heat-generating, and then seek the optimal fluid structure with minimal pressure drop for a given total volume of the tube network. The theoretical results show that the pressure drop of a laminar flow in the tube network reaches the minimum when the cubic value of the parent tube diameter equals to the sum of those of the daughter tube diameter, consistent with Murray's law. Furthermore, it is advantageous to have a higher dimension structure in network arrangement when the number of heat generation units increases, i.e., network performance improves by adopting a two-dimensional and even three-dimensional format as the number of units grows. 相似文献

A numerical study of a double-pipe helical heat exchanger was performed to ascertain the residence time, temperature, and processing uniformity for food processing applications. A range of laminar flow rates were used, with both parallel flow and counterflow configurations. Both heating and cooling in the inner tube were studied. Heating/cooling uniformity was estimated by using a first-order kinetics model for sterilization. Process uniformity is important in the quest for high quality product and this report is a first study for the uniformity in double-pipe helical heat exchangers. 相似文献

层流冷却的冷却强度决定着金属物料微观组织结构,从而影响产品的性能,而传热系数直接影响着冷却强度的大小。本工作提出了一种获得层流冷却传热系数的方法,通过工艺分析得到其分布形式为以喷头为中心由半波正弦和直线构成的分段函数,给出了通过结构参数、运行参数和实验数据获得函数特征参数的方法。以实验台验证了该方法的准确性,同时分析了特征参数变化对金属物料温度场的影响规律。结果表明,振幅增加1 W/(m2?K),金属物料表面温度相对下降量在最后一个区域达到最大值,为?0.36 m2?K2/W,断面温差最大相对变化量为0.07 m2?K2/W;周期减小1 s,金属物料表面温度相对增加量在最后一个区域达到最大值,为13.24 K/s,断面温差呈现周期性变化,变化范围为?2.5~0 K/s。 相似文献

部分空间科学实验对环境温度有较高的要求,环境温度高于或低于空间科学系统能够提供的热沉温度,需要有可靠有效的加温降温处理措施。使用可靠性强的热电制冷片作为制冷制热方式和气液换热器二次换热来实现环境温度控制的需求,并对不同流体温度制冷制热效果进行分析,结果表明流体温度和目标温度差越小,热电制冷制热的效果越好。在环境温度制冷工况中,热电单元数量随电流增加先减少后增加,在制热工况中则单调递减,设计中需按照制冷工况进行热电单元数量的确定。当流体温度接近制冷制热的目标温度时,会出现整个系统总效率优于热电系统效率的区间。通过对热电单元和气液换热器的组合系统的性能计算,提供一种适于热电环控系统的计算方法和部件选型思路,对空间站环控系统的设计有重要参考意义。 相似文献
