Potassium‐ion batteries (KIBs) are new‐concept of low‐cost secondary batteries, but the sluggish kinetics and huge volume expansion during cycling, both rooted in the size of large K ions, lead to poor electrochemical behavior. Here, a bamboo‐like MoS2/N‐doped‐C hollow tubes are presented with an expanded interlayer distance of 10 Å as a high‐capacity and stable anode material for KIBs. The bamboo‐like structure provides gaps along axial direction in addition to inner cylinder hollow space to mitigate the strains in both radial and vertical directions that ultimately leads to a high structural integrity for stable long‐term cycling. Apart from being a constituent of the interstratified structure the N‐doped‐C layers weave a cage to hold the potassiation products (polysulfide and the Mo nanoparticles) together, thereby effectively hindering the continuing growth of solid electrolyte interphase in the interior of particles. The density functional theory calculations prove that the MoS2/N‐doped‐C atomic interface can provide an additional attraction toward potassium ion. As a result, it delivers a high capacity at a low current density (330 mAh g?1 at 50 mA g?1 after 50 cycles) and a high‐capacity retention at a high current density (151 mAh g?1 at 500 mA g?1 after 1000 cycles).  相似文献

Metal oxide‐based nanomaterials are widely studied because of their high‐energy densities as anode materials in lithium‐ion batteries. However, the fast capacity degradation resulting from the large volume expansion upon lithiation hinders their practical application. In this work, the preparation of walnut‐like multicore–shell MnO encapsulated nitrogen‐rich carbon nanocapsules (MnO@NC) is reported via a facile and eco‐friendly process for long‐cycling Li‐ion batteries. In this hybrid structure, MnO nanoparticles are uniformly dispersed inside carbon nanoshells, which can simultaneously act as a conductive framework and also a protective buffer layer to restrain the volume variation. The MnO@NC nanocapsules show remarkable electrochemical performances for lithium‐ion batteries, exhibiting high reversible capability (762 mAh g?1 at 100 mA g?1) and stable cycling life (624 mAh g?1 after 1000 cycles at 1000 mA g?1). In addition, the soft‐packed full batteries based on MnO@NC nanocapsules anodes and commercial LiFePO4 cathodes present good flexibility and cycling stability.  相似文献

The application of graphite anodes in potassium‐ion batteries (KIB) is limited by the large variation in lattice volume and the low diffusion coefficient of potassium ions during (de)potassiation. This study demonstrates nitrogen‐doped, defect‐rich graphitic nanocarbons (GNCs) as high‐performance KIB anodes. The GNCs with controllable defect densities are synthesized by annealing an ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid nickel coordination compound. The GNCs show better performance than the previously reported thin‐walled graphitic carbonaceous materials such as carbon nanocages and nanotubes. In particular, the GNC prepared at 600 °C shows a stabilized capacity of 280 mAh g?1 at 50 mA g?1, robust rate capability, and long cycling life due to its high‐nitrogen‐doping, short‐range‐ordered, defect‐rich graphitic structure. A high capacity of 189 mAh g?1 with a long cycle life over 200 cycles is demonstrated at a current density of 200 mA g?1. Further, it is confirmed that the potassium ion storage mechanism of GNCs is different from that of graphite using multiple characterization methods. Specifically, the GNCs with numerous defects provide more active sites for the potassiation process, which results in a final discharge product with short‐range order. This study opens a new pathway for designing graphitic carbonaceous materials for KIB anodes.  相似文献

Potassium‐ion batteries (KIBs) in organic electrolytes hold great promise as an electrochemical energy storage technology owing to the abundance of potassium, close redox potential to lithium, and similar electrochemistry with lithium system. Although carbon materials have been studied as KIB anodes, investigations on KIB cathodes have been scarcely reported. A comprehensive study on potassium Prussian blue K0.220Fe[Fe(CN)6]0.805?4.01H2O nanoparticles as a potential cathode material is for the first time reported. The cathode exhibits a high discharge voltage of 3.1–3.4 V, a high reversible capacity of 73.2 mAh g?1, and great cyclability at both low and high rates with a very small capacity decay rate of ≈0.09% per cycle. Electrochemical reaction mechanism analysis identifies the carbon‐coordinated FeIII/FeII couple as redox‐active site and proves structural stability of the cathode during charge/discharge. Furthermore, for the first time, a KIB full‐cell is presented by coupling the nanoparticles with commercial carbon materials. The full‐cell delivers a capacity of 68.5 mAh g?1 at 100 mA g?1 and retains 93.4% of the capacity after 50 cycles. Considering the low cost and material sustainability as well as the great electrochemical performances, this work may pave the way toward more studies on KIB cathodes and trigger future attention on rechargeable KIBs.  相似文献

Na‐ion hybrid capacitors consisting of battery‐type anodes and capacitor‐style cathodes are attracting increasing attention on account of the abundance of sodium‐based resources as well as the potential to bridge the gap between batteries (high energy) and supercapacitors (high power). Herein, hierarchically structured carbon materials inspired by multiscale building units of cellulose from nature are assembled with cellulose‐based gel electrolytes into Na‐ion capacitors. Nonporous hard carbon anodes are obtained through the direct thermal pyrolysis of cellulose nanocrystals. Nitrogen‐doped carbon cathodes with a coral‐like hierarchically porous architecture are prepared via hydrothermal carbonization and activation of cellulose microfibrils. The reversible charge capacity of the anode is 256.9 mAh g?1 when operating at 0.1 A g?1 from 0 to 1.5 V versus Na+/Na, and the discharge capacitance of cathodes tested within 1.5 to 4.2 V versus Na+/Na is 212.4 F g?1 at 0.1 A g?1. Utilizing Na+ and ClO4? as charge carriers, the energy density of the full Na‐ion capacitor with two asymmetric carbon electrodes can reach 181 Wh kg?1 at 250 W kg?1, which is one of the highest energy devices reported until now. Combined with macrocellulose‐based gel electrolytes, all‐cellulose‐based quasi‐solid‐state devices are demonstrated possessing additional advantages in terms of overall sustainability.  相似文献

Magnesium as a promising alloy‐type anode material for lithium‐ion batteries features both high theoretical specific capacity (2150 mAh g?1) and stack energy density (1032 Wh L?1). However, the poor cycling performance of Mg‐based anodes severely limits their application, mainly because high‐impedance films can grow easily on the surface of Mg and cause diminished electrochemical activity. As a result, the capacities of reported Mg anodes fade quickly in less than 100 cycles. To improve the stability of Mg anodes, 3D Cu@Mg@C structures are prepared by depositing Mg/C composite on 3D Cu current collectors. The resulting 3D Cu@Mg@C anodes can deliver an initial capacity of 1392 mAh g?1. With a second‐cycle capacity of 1255 mAh g?1, 91% can be retained after 1000 cycles at 0.5 C. When cycled at 2 C, the initial capacity can be maintained for 4000 cycles. This remarkably improved cycling performance can be attributed to both the 3D structure and the embedded carbon layers of the 3D Cu@Mg@C electrodes that facilitate electrical contact and prevent the growth of high‐impedance films during cycling. With 3D Cu@Mg@C anodes and LiFePO4 cathodes, full cells are assembled and charging by a rotating triboelectric nanogenerator that can harvest mechanical energy is demonstrated.  相似文献

Trimetal Fe0.8CoMnO4 (FCMO) nanocrystals with a diameter of about 50 nm perfectly embedded in N doped‐carbon composite nanofibers (denoted as FCMO@C) are successfully prepared through integrating double‐nozzle electrospinning with a drying and calcination process. The as‐prepared FCMO@C nanofibers maintain a high reversible capacity of 420 mAh g?1 and about 90% capacity retention after 200 cycles at 0.1 A g?1. For a long‐term cycle, the FCMO@C electrode exhibits excellent cycling stability (87% high capacity retention at 1 A g?1 after 950 cycles). Kinetic analysis demonstrates that the electrochemical characteristics of the FCMO@C corresponds to the pseudocapacitive approach in charge storage as an anode for sodium ion batteries, which dominantly attributes the credit to FCMO nanocrystals to shorten the migration distance of Na+ ions and the nitrogen‐doped carbon skeleton to enhance the electronic transmission and favorably depress the volume expansion during the repeated insertion/extraction of Na+ ions. More significantly, a self‐supported mechanism via continuous electrochemical redox reaction of Fe, Co, and Mn can effectively relieve the volume change during charge and discharge. Therefore, this work can provide a new avenue to improve the sodium storage performance of the oxide anode materials.  相似文献

Si‐based anodes with a stiff diamond structure usually suffer from sluggish lithiation/delithiation reaction due to low Li‐ion and electronic conductivity. Here, a novel ternary compound ZnSi2P3 with a cation‐disordered sphalerite structure, prepared by a facile mechanochemical method, is reported, demonstrating faster Li‐ion and electron transport and greater tolerance to volume change during cycling than the existing Si‐based anodes. A composite electrode consisting of ZnSi2P3 and carbon achieves a high initial Coulombic efficiency (92%) and excellent rate capability (950 mAh g?1 at 10 A g?1) while maintaining superior cycling stability (1955 mAh g?1 after 500 cycles at 300 mA g?1), surpassing the performance of most Si‐ and P‐based anodes ever reported. The remarkable electrochemical performance is attributed to the sphalerite structure that allows fast ion and electron transport and the reversible Li‐storage mechanism involving intercalation and conversion reactions. Moreover, the cation‐disordered sphalerite structure is flexible to ionic substitutions, allowing extension to a family of Zn(Cu)Si2+xP3 solid solution anodes (x = 0, 2, 5, 10) with large capacity, high initial Coulombic efficiency, and tunable working potentials, representing attractive anode candidates for next‐generation, high‐performance, and low‐cost Li‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Binders have been reported to play a key role in improving the cycle performance of Si anode materials of lithium‐ion batteries. In this study, the biopolymer guar gum (GG) is applied as the binder for a silicon nanoparticle (SiNP) anode of a lithium‐ion battery for the first time. Due to the large number of polar hydroxyl groups in the GG molecule, a robust interaction between the GG binder and the SiNPs is achieved, resulting in a stable Si anode during cycling. More specifically, the GG binder can effectively transfer lithium ions to the Si surface, similarly to polyethylene oxide solid electrolytes. When GG is used as a binder, the SiNP anode can deliver an initial discharge capacity as high as 3364 mAh g?1, with a Coulombic efficiency of 88.3% at the current density of 2100 mA g?1, and maintain a capacity of 1561 mAh g?1 after 300 cycles. The study shows that the electrochemical performance of the SiNP anode with GG binder is significantly improved compared to that of a SiNP anode with a sodium alginate binder, and it demonstrates that GG is a promising binder for Si anodes of lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Silicon nanoparticles (Si NPs) have been considered as promising anode materials for next‐generation lithium‐ion batteries, but the practical issues such as mechanical structure instability and low volumetric energy density limit their development. At present, the functional energy‐storing architectures based on Si NPs building blocks have been proposed to solve the adverse effects of nanostructures, but designing ideal functional architectures with excellent electrochemical performance is still a significant challenge. This study shows that the effective stress evolution management is applied for self‐assembled functional architectures via cross‐scale simulation and the simulated stress evolution can be a guide to design a scalable self‐assembled hierarchical Si@TiO2@C (SA‐SiTC) based on core–shell Si@TiO2 nanoscale building blocks. It is found that the carbon filler and TiO2 layer can effectively reduce the risk of cracking during (de)lithiation, ensuring the stability of the mechanical structure of SA‐SiTC. The SA‐SiTC electrode shows long cycling stability (842.6 mAh g?1 after 1000 cycles at 2 A g?1), high volumetric capacity (174 mAh cm?3), high initial Coulombic efficiency (80.9%), and stable solid‐electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer. This work provides insight into the development of the structural stable Si‐based anodes with long cycle life and high volumetric energy density for practical energy applications.  相似文献

Dark‐colored rutile TiO2 nanorods doped by electroconducting Ti3+ have been obtained uniformly with an average diameter of ≈7 nm, and have been first utilized as anodes in lithium‐ion batteries. They deliver a high reversible specific capacity of 185.7 mAh g?1 at 0.2 C (33.6 mA g?1) and maintain 92.1 mAh g?1 after 1000 cycles at an extremely high rate 50 C with an outstanding retention of 98.4%. Notably, the coulombic efficiency of Ti3+–TiO2 has been improved by approximately 10% compared with that of pristine rutile TiO2, which can be mainly attributed to its prompt electron transfer because of the introduction of Ti3+. Again the synergetic merits are noticed when the promoted electronic conductivity is combined with a shortened Li+ diffusion length resulting from the ultrafine nanorod structure, giving rise to the remarkable rate capabilities and extraordinary cycling stabilities for applications in fast and durable charge/discharge batteries. It is of great significance to incorporate Ti3+ into rutile TiO2 to exhibit particular electrochemical characteristics triggering an effective way to improve the energy storage properties.  相似文献

The formation of a solid electrolyte interface (SEI) on the surface of a carbon anode consumes the active sodium ions from the cathode and reduces the energy density of sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs). Herein, a simple electrode‐level presodiation strategy by spraying a sodium naphthaline (Naph‐Na) solution onto a carbon electrode is reported, which compensates the initial sodium loss and improves the energy density of SIBs. After presodiation, an SEI layer is preformed on the surface of carbon anode before battery cycling. It is shown that a large irreversible capacity of 60 mAh g?1 is replenished and 20% increase of the first‐cycle Coulombic efficiency is achieved for a hard carbon anode using this presodiation strategy, and the energy density of a Na0.9[Cu0.22Fe0.30Mn0.48]O2||carbon full cell is increased from 141 to 240 Wh kg?1 by using the presodiated carbon anode. This simple and scalable electrode‐level chemical presodiation route also shows generality and value for the presodiation of other anodes in SIBs.  相似文献

Poly(thiophene) as a kind of n‐doped conjugated polymer with reversible redox behavior can be employed as anode material for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). However, the low redox activity and poor rate performance for the poly(thiophene)‐based anodes limit its further development. Herein, a structure‐design strategy is reported for thiophene‐containing conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) with extraordinary electrochemical performance as anode materials in LIBs. The comparative study on the electrochemical performance of the structure‐designed thiophene‐containing CMPs reveals that high redox‐active thiophene content, highly crosslinked porous structure, and improved surface area play significant roles for enhancing electrochemical performances of the resulting CMPs. The all‐thiophene‐based polymer of poly(3,3′‐bithiophene) with crosslinked structure and a high surface area of 696 m2 g?1 exhibits a discharge capacity of as high as 1215 mAh g?1 at 45 mA g?1, excellent rate capability, and outstanding cycling stability with a capacity retention of 663 mAh g?1 at 500 mA g?1 after 1000 cycles. The structure–performance relationships revealed in this work offer a fundamental understanding in the rational design of CMPs anode materials for high performance LIBs.  相似文献

2D carbon nanosheets are considered to be promising candidates for use as sodium ion battery (SIB) anodes due to their large specific surface area and excellent electronic conductivity. However, their applications are hampered by inferior cycling performance, insufficient storage capacity, and high cost. N, B co‐doping carbon nanosheets (NBTs) are synthesized using biomass‐based gelatin as carbon precursor and boric acid as template, and demonstrate their great potential as high‐performance SIB anodes in practical applications. The synergistic effect of heteroatom doping and ultrathin 2D structure provides the NBTs with abundant defects, active sites, and short ion/electron transfer distance, which favors and improves the storage capabilities and rate performances. The optimized NBTs present a remarkable cyclability and superb rate capability (309 mAh g?1 at 0.2 A g?1 for 200 cycles; 225 mAh g?1 at 1 A g?1 for 2000 cycles). Meanwhile, the Na storage mechanism is proved to be a pseudocapacitive‐controlled process, which accounts for the fast charge/discharge behaviors. This work demonstrates an effective template method to produce 2D heteroatoms co‐doping carbon nanosheets to achieve excellent Na storage performances.  相似文献

Cathode design is indispensable for building Li‐O2 batteries with long cycle life. A composite of carbon‐wrapped Mo2C nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes is prepared on Ni foam by direct hydrolysis and carbonization of a gel composed of ammonium heptamolybdate tetrahydrate and hydroquinone resin. The Mo2C nanoparticles with well‐controlled particle size act as a highly active oxygen reduction reactions/oxygen evolution reactions (ORR/OER) catalyst. The carbon coating can prevent the aggregation of the Mo2C nanoparticles. The even distribution of Mo2C nanoparticles results in the homogenous formation of discharge products. The skeleton of porous carbon with carbon nanotubes protrudes from the composite, resulting in extra voids when applied as a cathode for Li‐O2 batteries. The batteries deliver a high discharge capacity of ≈10 400 mAh g?1 and a low average charge voltage of ≈4.0 V at 200 mA g?1. With a cutoff capacity of 1000 mAh g?1, the Li‐O2 batteries exhibit excellent charge–discharge cycling stability for over 300 cycles. The average potential polarization of discharge/charge gaps is only ≈0.9 V, demonstrating the high ORR and OER activities of these Mo2C nanoparticles. The excellent cycling stability and low potential polarization provide new insights into the design of highly reversible and efficient cathode materials for Li‐O2 batteries.  相似文献

Hollow structures are often used to relieve the intrinsic strain on metal oxide electrodes in alkali‐ion batteries. Nevertheless, one common drawback is that the large interior space leads to low volumetric energy density and inferior electric conductivity. Here, the von Mises stress distribution on a mesoporous hollow bowl (HB) is simulated via the finite element method, and the vital role of the porous HB structure on strain‐relaxation behavior is confirmed. Then, N‐doped‐C coated mesoporous α‐Fe2O3 HBs are designed and synthesized using a multistep soft/hard‐templating strategy. The material has several advantages: (i) there is space to accommodate strains without sacrificing volumetric energy density, unlike with hollow spheres; (ii) the mesoporous hollow structure shortens ion diffusion lengths and allows for high‐rate induced lithiation reactivation; and (iii) the N‐doped carbon nanolayer can enhance conductivity. As an anode in lithium‐ion batteries, the material exhibits a very high reversible capacity of 1452 mAh g?1 at 0.1 A g?1, excellent cycling stability of 1600 cycles (964 mAh g?1 at 2 A g?1), and outstanding rate performance (609 mAh g?1 at 8 A g?1). Notably, the volumetric specific capacity of composite electrode is 42% greater than that of hollow spheres. When used in potassium‐ion batteries, the material also shows high capacity and cycle stability.  相似文献

To tackle the issue of inferior cycle stability and rate capability for MnO anode materials in lithium ion batteries, a facile strategy is explored to prepare a hybrid material consisting of MnO nanocrystals grown on conductive graphene nanosheets. The prepared MnO/graphene hybrid anode exhibits a reversible capacity as high as 2014.1 mAh g?1 after 150 discharge/charge cycles at 200 mA g?1, excellent rate capability (625.8 mAh g?1 at 3000 mA g?1), and superior cyclability (843.3 mAh g?1 even after 400 discharge/charge cycles at 2000 mA g?1 with only 0.01% capacity loss per cycle). The results suggest that the reconstruction of the MnO/graphene electrodes is intrinsic due to conversion reactions. A long‐term stable nanoarchitecture of graphene‐supported ultrafine manganese oxide nanoparticles is formed upon cycling, which yields a long‐life anode material for lithium ion batteries. The lithiation and delithiation behavior suggests that the further oxidation of Mn(II ) to Mn(IV ) and the interfacial lithium storage upon cycling contribute to the enhanced specific capacity. The excellent rate capability benefits from the presence of conductive graphene and a short transportation length for both lithium ions and electrons. Moreover, the as‐formed hybrid nanostructure of MnO on graphene may help achieve faster kinetics of conversion reactions.  相似文献

Carbon‐based materials are promising anodes for potassium‐ion batteries (PIBs). However, due to the significant volume expansion and structural instability, it is still a challenge to achieve a high capacity, high rate and long cycle life for carbonaceous anodes. Herein, oxygen/fluorine dual‐doped porous carbon nanopolyhedra (OFPCN) is reported for the first time as a novel anode for PIBs, which exhibits a high reversible capacity of 481 mA h g?1 at 0.05 A g?1 and excellent performance of 218 mA h g?1 after 2000 cycles at 1 A g?1 with 92% capacity retention. Even after 5000 robust cycles at 10 A g?1 with charging/discharging time of around 40 s, an unprecedented capacity of 111 mA h g?1 is still maintained. Such ultrafast potassium storage and unprecedented cycling stability have been seldom reported in PIBs. Quantitative kinetics analysis reveals that both diffusion and capacitance processes are involved in the potassium storage mechanism. Density functional theory calculations demonstrate that the O/F dual‐doped porous carbon promotes the K‐adsorption ability and can absorb multiple K atoms with slight structural distortion, which accounts for the high specific capacity, outstanding rate capability, and excellent cycling stability of the OFPCN anode.  相似文献

On account of increasing demand for energy storage devices, sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) with abundant reserve, low cost, and similar electrochemical properties have the potential to partly replace the commercial lithium‐ion batteries. In this study, a facile metal‐organic framework (MOF)‐derived selenidation strategy to synthesize in situ carbon‐encapsulated selenides as superior anode for SIBs is rationally designed. These selenides with particular micro‐ and nanostructured features deliver ultrastable cycling performance at high charge–discharge rate and demonstrate ultraexcellent rate capability. For example, the uniform peapod‐like Fe7Se8@C nanorods represent a high specific capacity of 218 mAh g?1 after 500 cycles at 3 A g?1 and the porous NiSe@C spheres display a high specific capacity of 160 mAh g?1 after 2000 cycles at 3 A g?1. The current simple MOF‐derived method could be a promising strategy for boosting the development of new functional inorganic materials for energy storage, catalysis, and sensors.  相似文献

The synthesis of a new type of redox‐active covalent triazine framework (rCTF) material, which is promising as an anode for Li‐ion batteries, is reported. After activation, it has a capacity up to ≈1190 mAh g?1 at 0.5C with a current density of 300 mA g?1 and a high cycling stability of over 1000 discharge/charge cycles with a stable Coulombic efficiency in an rCTF/Li half‐cell. This rCTF has a high rate performance, and at a charging rate of 20C with a current density of 12 A g?1 and it functions well for over 1000 discharge/charge cycles with a reversible capacity of over 500 mAh g?1. By electrochemical analysis and theoretical calculations, it is found that its lithium‐storage mechanism involves multi‐electron redox‐reactions at anthraquinone, triazine, and benzene rings by the accommodation of Li. The structural features and progressively increased structural disorder of the rCTF increase the kinetics of infiltration and significantly shortens the activation period, yielding fast‐charging Li‐ion half and full cells even at a high capacity loading.  相似文献
