The two‐step conversion process consisting of metal halide deposition followed by conversion to hybrid perovskite has been successfully applied toward producing high‐quality solar cells of the archetypal MAPbI3 hybrid perovskite, but the conversion of other halide perovskites, such as the lower bandgap FAPbI3, is more challenging and tends to be hampered by the formation of hexagonal nonperovskite polymorph of FAPbI3, requiring Cs addition and/or extensive thermal annealing. Here, an efficient room‐temperature conversion route of PbI2 into the α‐FAPbI3 perovskite phase without the use of cesium is demonstrated. Using in situ grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (GIWAXS) and quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D), the conversion behaviors of the PbI2 precursor from its different states are compared. α‐FAPbI3 forms spontaneously and efficiently at room temperature from P2 (ordered solvated polymorphs with DMF) without hexagonal phase formation and leads to complete conversion after thermal annealing. The average power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the fabricated solar cells is greatly improved from 16.0(±0.32)% (conversion from annealed PbI2) to 17.23(±0.28)% (from solvated PbI2) with a champion device PCE > 18% due to reduction of carrier recombination rate. This work provides new design rules toward the room‐temperature phase transformation and processing of hybrid perovskite films based on FA+ cation without the need for Cs+ or mixed halide formulation. 相似文献

Understanding the relationship between the growth and local emission of hybrid perovskite structures and the performance of the devices based on them demands attention. This study investigates the local structural and emission features of CH3NH3PbI3, CH3NH3PbBr3, and CH(NH2)2PbBr3 perovskite films deposited under different yet optimized conditions using X‐ray scattering and cathodoluminescence spectroscopy, respectively. X‐ray scattering shows that a CH3NH3PbI3 film involving spin coating of CH3NH3I instead of dipping is composed of perovskite structures exhibiting a preferred orientation with [202] direction perpendicular to the surface plane. The device based on the CH3NH3PbI3 film composed of oriented crystals yields a relatively higher photovoltage. In the case of CH3NH3PbBr3, while the crystallinity decreases when the HBr solution is used in a single‐step method, the photovoltage enhancement from 1.1 to 1.46 V seems largely stemming from the morphological improvements, i.e., a better connection between the crystallites due to a higher nucleation density. Furthermore, a high photovoltage of 1.47 V obtained from CH(NH2)2PbBr3 devices could be attributed to the formation of perovskite films displaying uniform cathodoluminescence emission. The comparative analysis of the local structural, morphological, and emission characteristics of the different perovskite films supports the higher photovoltage yielded by the relatively better performing devices. 相似文献

Developing efficient interfacial hole transporting materials (HTMs) is crucial for achieving high‐performance Pb‐free Sn‐based halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Here, a new series of benzodithiophene (BDT)‐based organic small molecules containing tetra‐ and di‐triphenyl amine donors prepared via a straightforward and scalable synthetic route is reported. The thermal, optical, and electrochemical properties of two BDT‐based molecules are shown to be structurally and energetically suitable to serve as HTMs for Sn‐based PSCs. It is reported here that ethylenediammonium/formamidinium tin iodide solar cells using BDT‐based HTMs deliver a champion power conversion efficiency up to 7.59%, outperforming analogous reference solar cells using traditional and expensive HTMs. Thus, these BDT‐based molecules are promising candidates as HTMs for the fabrication of high‐performance Sn‐based PSCs. 相似文献

Organo‐lead halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have received great attention because of their optimized optical and electrical properties for solar cell applications. Recently, a dramatic increase in the photovoltaic performance of PSCs with organic hole transport materials (HTMs) has been reported. However, as of now, future commercialization can be hampered because the stability of PSCs with organic HTM has not been guaranteed for long periods under conventional working conditions, including moist conditions. Furthermore, conventional organic HTMs are normally expensive because material synthesis and purification are complicated. It is herein reported, for the first time, octadecylamine‐capped pyrite nanoparticles (ODA‐FeS2 NPs) as a bi‐functional layer (charge extraction layer and moisture‐proof layer) for organo‐lead halide PSCs. FeS2 is a promising candidate for the HTM of PSCs because of its high conductivity and suitable energy levels for hole extraction. A bi‐functional layer based on ODA‐FeS2 NPs shows excellent hole transport ability and moisture‐proof performance. Through this approach, the best‐performing device with ODA‐FeS2 NPs‐based bi‐functional layer shows a power conversion efficiency of 12.6% and maintains stable photovoltaic performance in 50% relative humidity for 1000 h. As a result, this study has the potential to break through the barriers for the commercialization of PSCs. 相似文献

Materials and technology development for designing innovative and efficient X‐ray radiation detectors is of utmost importance for a wide range of applications ranging from security to medical imaging. Here, highly sensitive direct X‐ray detectors based on novel cesium (Cs)‐based triple cation mixed halide perovskite thin films are reported. Despite being in a thin film form, the devices exhibit a remarkably high X‐ray sensitivity of (3.7 ± 0.1) µC Gy?1 cm?2 under short‐circuit conditions. At a small reverse bias of 0.4 V, the sensitivity further increases by orders of magnitude reaching a record value of (97 ± 1) µC Gy?1 cm?2 which surpasses state‐of‐the‐art inorganic large‐area detectors (a‐Se and poly‐CZT). Based on detailed structural, electrical, and spectroscopic investigations, the exceptional sensitivity of the triple cation Cs perovskite is attributed to its high ambipolar mobility‐lifetime product as well as to the formation of a pure stable perovskite phase with a low degree of energetic disorder, due to an efficient solution‐based alloying of individual n‐ and p‐type perovskite semiconductors. 相似文献

Efficient organic–inorganic metal halide perovskite absorbers have gained tremendous research interest in the past decade due to their super optoelectronic properties and defect tolerance. Lead (Pb) halide perovskites enable highly efficient perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with a record power conversion efficiency (PCE) of over 23%. However, the energy bandgaps of Pb halide perovskites are larger than the optimal bandgap for single junction solar cells, governed by the Shockley–Queisser (SQ) radiative limit. Mixed tin (Sn)‐Pb halide perovskites have drawn significant attention, since their bandgap can be tuned to below 1.2 eV, which opens a door for fabricating all‐perovskite tandem solar cells that can break the SQ radiative limit. This review summarizes the development of low‐bandgap mixed Sn‐Pb PSCs and their applications in all‐perovskite tandem solar cells. Its aim is to facilitate the development of new approaches to achieve high efficiency low‐bandgap single‐junction mixed Sn‐Pb PSCs and all‐perovskite tandem solar cells. 相似文献

Crystal engineering of CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite materials through template‐directed nucleation and growth on PbI2 nuclei dispersed in a polar fullerene (C60 pyrrolidine tris‐acid, CPTA) electron transport layer (ETL) (CPTA:PbI2) is proposed as a route for controlling crystallization kinetics and grain sizes. Chemical analysis of the CPTA:PbI2 template confirms that CPTA carboxylic acid groups can form a monodentate or bidentate chelate with Pb(II), resulting in a lower nucleation barrier that promotes rapid formation of the tetragonal perovskite phase. Moreover, it is demonstrated that a uniform CH3NH3PbI3 film with highly crystalline and large domain sizes can be realized by increasing the spacing between nuclei to retard perovskite crystal growth via careful control of the preferred nucleation site distribution in the CPTA:PbI2 layer. The improved perovskite morphology possesses a long photoluminescence lifetime and efficient photocarrier transport/separation properties to eliminate the hysteresis effect. The corresponding planar heterojunction photovoltaic yields a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.20%, with a high fill factor (FF) of 81.13%. The average PCE and FF values for 30 devices are 19.03% ± 0.57% and 78.67% ± 2.13%, respectively. The results indicate that this ETL template‐assisted crystallization strategy can be applied to other organometal halide perovskite‐based systems. 相似文献

A facile approach to precisely control the perovskite grain sizes is proposed and demonstrated for high‐performance photovoltaic (PV) solar cells. With the introduction of various amounts of NH4H2PO2 (AHP) additives into the PbI2/CH3NH3I precursors, the grain scale of CH3NH3PbI3 films can be finely turned from hundreds of nanometer to micrometer scale, allowing evaluating the effects of crystalline grain boundary on trap densities, charge recombination, and PV device performance. The X‐ray diffraction and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements indicate that the formation of intermediates plays a key role in assisting the perovskite crystal growth. The optimized devices show much larger open‐circuit voltages (VOC) up to 1.10 ± 0.02 V and significantly enhance power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 16.5 ± 0.7%, as compared to the control devices with PCE of 9.4 ± 1.0% and VOC of 1.00 ± 0.03 V. Further investigations confirm that the boosted PV performance origins from the decreased defect densities due to enlarged grain sizes. It is also demonstrated that the approach is general and applicable to other perovskite systems, e.g., HC(NH2)2PbI3. The results suggest the promising application of AHP in achieving high‐performance perovskite PV devices, and shed light on understanding the grain boundary effects on perovskite optoelectronics. 相似文献

HPbI3: A New Precursor Compound for Highly Efficient Solution‐Processed Perovskite Solar Cells 下载免费PDF全文
Recently, there have been extensive research efforts on developing high performance organolead halide based perovskite solar cells. While most studies focused on optimizing the deposition processes of the perovskite films, the selection of the precursors has been rather limited to the lead halide/methylammonium (or formamidium) halide combination. In this work, we developed a new precursor, HPbI3, to replace lead halide. The new precursor enables formation of highly uniform formamidium lead iodide (FAPbI3) films through a one‐step spin‐coating process. Furthermore, the FAPbI3 perovskite films exhibit a highly crystalline phase with strong (110) preferred orientation and excellent thermal stability. The planar heterojunction solar cells based on these perovskite films exhibit an average efficiency of 15.4% and champion efficiency of 17.5% under AM 1.5 G illumination. By comparing the morphology and formation process of the perovskite films fabricated from the formamidium iodide (FAI)/HPbI3, FAI/PbI2, and FAI/PbI2 with HI additive precursor combinations, it is shown that the superior property of the HPbI3 based perovskite films may originate from 1) a slow crystallization process involving exchange of H+ and FA+ ions in the PbI6 octahedral framework and 2) elimination of water in the precursor solution state. 相似文献

Producing high efficiency solar cells without high‐temperature processing or use of additives still remains a challenge with the two‐step process. Here, the solution processing of MAPbI3 from PbI2 films in N,N‐dimethylformamide (DMF) is investigated. In‐situ grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (GIWAXS) measurements reveal a sol–gel process involving three PbI2‐DMF solvate complexes—disordered (P0) and ordered (P1, P2)—prior to PbI2 formation. When the appropriate solvated state of PbI2 is exposed to MAI (methylammonium Iodide), it can lead to rapid and complete room temperature conversion into MAPbI3 with higher quality films and improved solar cell performance. Complementary in‐situ optical reflectance, absorbance, and quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) measurements show that dry PbI2 can take up only one third of the MAI taken up by the solvated‐crystalline P2 phase of PbI2, requiring additional annealing and yet still underperforming. The perovskite solar cells fabricated from the ordered P2 precursor show higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) and reproducibility than devices fabricated from other cases. The average PCE of the solar cells is greatly improved from 13.2(±0.53)% (from annealed PbI2) to 15.7(±0.35)% (from P2) reaching up to 16.2%. This work demonstrates the importance of controlling the solvation of PbI2 as an effective strategy for the growth of high‐quality perovskite films and their application in high efficiency and reproducible solar cells. 相似文献

Sn‐based perovskites are promising Pb‐free photovoltaic materials with an ideal 1.3 eV bandgap. However, to date, Sn‐based thin film perovskite solar cells have yielded relatively low power conversion efficiencies (PCEs). This is traced to their poor photophysical properties (i.e., short diffusion lengths (<30 nm) and two orders of magnitude higher defect densities) than Pb‐based systems. Herein, it is revealed that melt‐synthesized cesium tin iodide (CsSnI3) ingots containing high‐quality large single crystal (SC) grains transcend these fundamental limitations. Through detailed optical spectroscopy, their inherently superior properties are uncovered, with bulk carrier lifetimes reaching 6.6 ns, doping concentrations of around 4.5 × 1017 cm?3, and minority‐carrier diffusion lengths approaching 1 µm, as compared to their polycrystalline counterparts having ≈54 ps, ≈9.2 × 1018 cm?3, and ≈16 nm, respectively. CsSnI3 SCs also exhibit very low surface recombination velocity of ≈2 × 103 cm s?1, similar to Pb‐based perovskites. Importantly, these key parameters are comparable to high‐performance p‐type photovoltaic materials (e.g., InP crystals). The findings predict a PCE of ≈23% for optimized CsSnI3 SCs solar cells, highlighting their great potential. 相似文献

Defect‐mediated carrier recombination at the interfaces between perovskite and neighboring charge transport layers limits the efficiency of most state‐of‐the‐art perovskite solar cells. Passivation of interfacial defects is thus essential for attaining cell efficiencies close to the theoretical limit. In this work, a novel double‐sided passivation of 3D perovskite films is demonstrated with thin surface layers of bulky organic cation–based halide compound forming 2D layered perovskite. Highly efficient (22.77%) mixed‐dimensional perovskite devices with a remarkable open‐circuit voltage of 1.2 V are reported for a perovskite film having an optical bandgap of ≈1.6 eV. Using a combination of experimental and numerical analyses, it is shown that the double‐sided surface layers provide effective defect passivation at both the electron and hole transport layer interfaces, suppressing surface recombination on both sides of the active layer. Despite the semi‐insulating nature of the passivation layers, an increase in the fill factor of optimized cells is observed. The efficient carrier extraction is explained by incomplete surface coverage of the 2D perovskite layer, allowing charge transport through localized unpassivated regions, similar to tunnel‐oxide passivation layers used in silicon photovoltaics. Optimization of the defect passivation properties of these films has the potential to further increase cell efficiencies. 相似文献

Scanning nanofocus X‐ray diffraction (nXRD) performed at a synchrotron is used to simultaneously probe the morphology and the structural properties of spin‐coated CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPI) perovskite films for photovoltaic devices. MAPI films are spin‐coated on a Si/SiO2/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) substrate held at different temperatures during the deposition in order to tune the perovskite film coverage. The films are then investigated using nXRD and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The advantages of nXRD over SEM and other techniques are discussed. A method to visualize, selectively isolate, and structurally characterize single perovskite grains buried within a complex, polycrystalline film is developed. The results of nXRD measurements are correlated with solar cell device measurements, and it is shown that spin‐coating the perovskite precursor solution at elevated temperatures leads to improved surface coverage and enhanced solar cell performance. 相似文献

Facile electron injection and extraction are two key attributes desired in electron transporting layers to enhance the efficiency of planar perovskite solar cells. Herein it is demonstrated that the incorporation of alkali metal dopants in mesoporous TiO2 can effectively modulate electronic conductivity and improve the charge extraction process by counterbalancing oxygen vacancies acting as nonradiative recombination centers. Moreover, sulfate bridges (SO42?) grafted on the surface of K‐doped mesoporous titania provide a seamless integration of absorber and electron‐transporting layers that accelerate overall transport kinetics. Potassium doping markedly influences the nucleation of the perovskite layer to produce highly dense films with facetted crystallites. Solar cells made from K:TiO2 electrodes exhibit power conversion efficiencies up to 21.1% with small hysteresis despite all solution coating processes conducted under ambient air conditions (controlled humidity: 25–35%). The higher device efficiencies are attributed to intrinsically tuned electronic conductivity and chemical modification of grain boundaries enabling uniform coverage of perovskite films with large grain size. 相似文献

Despite the rich experience gained in controlling the microstructure of perovskite films over the past several years, little is known about how the microstructure affects the device properties of perovskite solar cells (HPSCs). In this work, the effects of the perovskite film microstructure on the charge recombination and light‐soaking phenomenon in mixed halide HPSCs are investigated. Devices with noncompact perovskite morphology show a severe light soaking effect, with the power conversion efficiency (PCE) improved from 3.7% to 11.6% after light soaking. Devices with compact perovskite morphology show a negligible light soaking effect, with PCE slightly increased from 11.4% to 11.9% after light soaking. From device investigations, photoluminescence, and impedance spectroscopy measurements, it is demonstrated that interface electron traps at the grain boundaries as well as at the crystal surface dominate the light soaking effect. Severe trap‐assisted recombination takes place in HPSCs using noncompact films, while it is effectively eliminated in devices with compact films. Moreover, how the grain size of the perovskite film affects the light soaking phenomenon is investigated. In the case of compact perovskite films, the size of the grains has a limited effect on the light soaking. In these compact films, grains are fused and trap states are effectively reduced. 相似文献

Tin‐based perovskites have exhibited high potential for efficient photovoltaics application due to their outstanding optoelectrical properties. However, the extremely undesired instabilities significantly hinders their development and further commercialization process. A novel tin‐based reduced‐dimensional (quasi‐2D) perovskites is reported here by using 5‐ammoniumvaleric acid (5‐AVA+) as the organic spacer. It is demonstrated that by introducing appropriate amount of ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) as additive, highly vertically oriented tin‐based quasi‐2D perovskite films are obtained, which is proved through the grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering characterization. In particular, this approach is confirmed to be a universal method to deliver highly vertically oriented tin‐based quasi‐2D perovskites with various spacers. The highly ordered vertically oriented perovskite films significantly improve the charge collection efficiency between two electrodes. With the optimized NH4Cl concentration, the solar cells employing quasi‐2D perovskite, AVA2FAn?1SnnI3n+1 (<n> = 5), as light absorbers deliver a power conversion efficiency up to 8.71%. The work paves the way for further employing highly vertically oriented tin‐based quasi‐2D perovskite films for highly efficient and stable photovoltaics. 相似文献

To develop high‐capacitance flexible solid‐state supercapacitors and explore its application in self‐powered electronics is one of ongoing research topics. In this study, self‐stacked solvated graphene (SSG) films are reported that have been prepared by a facile vacuum filtration method as the free‐standing electrode for flexible solid‐state supercapacitors. The highly hydrated SSG films have low mass loading, high flexibility, and high electrical conductivity. The flexible solid‐state supercapacitors based on SSG films exhibit excellent capacitive characteristics with a high gravimetric specific capacitance of 245 F g?1 and good cycling stability of 10 000 cycles. Furthermore, the flexible solid‐state supercapacitors are integrated with high performance perovskite hybrid solar cells (pero‐HSCs) to build self‐powered electronics. It is found that the solid‐state supercapacitors can be charged by pero‐HSCs and discharged from 0.75 V. These results demonstrate that the self‐powered electronics by integration of the flexible solid‐state supercapacitors with pero‐HSCs have great potential applications in storage of solar energy and in flexible electronics, such as portable and wearable personal devices. 相似文献

Formamidinium lead triiodide (FAPbI3)‐based perovskite materials are of interest for photovoltaics in view of their close‐to‐ideal bandgap, allowing absorption of photons over a broad solar spectrum. However, FAPbI3‐based materials suffer from a notorious phase transition from the photoactive black phase (α‐FAPbI3) to nonperovskite yellow phase (δ‐FAPbI3) under ambient conditions. This transition dramatically reduces light absorbtion, thus, degrading the photovoltaic performance and stability of ensuring solar cells. In this study, 1‐hexyl‐3‐methylimidazolium iodide (HMII) ionic liquid (IL) is employed as an additive for the first time in FAPbI3 perovskite to overcome the above‐mentioned issues. HMII incorporation facilitates the grain coarsening of FAPbI3 crystal owing to its high‐polarity and high‐boiling point, which yields liquid domains between neighboring grains to reduce the activation energy of the grain‐boundary migration. As a result, the FAPbI3 active layer exhibits micron‐sized grains with substantially suppressed parasitic traps with an Urbach energy reduced by 2 meV. Hence, the resulting perovskite solar cell achieves an efficiency of 20.6% with notable increase in open circuit voltage (VOC) of 80 mV compared with HMII‐free cells (17.1%). More importantly, the HMII‐doped FAPbI3‐based cells show a striking enhancement in shelf‐stability under high humidity and thermal stress, retaining >80% of their initial efficiencies at 60 ± 10% relative humidity and ≈95% at 65 °C. 相似文献
