The recent discovery of high-temperature superconductors (HTSs) has generated a substantial amount of interest in microstrip antenna applications. However, the high permittivity of substrates compatible with HTS causes difficulty in feeding such antennas because of the high patch edge impedance. Two methods for feeding HTS microstrip antennas at K- and Ka-band are examined. Superconducting microstrip antennas that are directly coupled and gas-coupled to a microstrip transmission line have been designed and fabricated on lanthanum aluminate substrates using Y-Ba-Cu-O superconducting thin films. Measurements from these antennas, including input impedance, bandwidth, efficiency, and patterns, are presented and compared with published models. The measured results demonstrate that usable antennas can be constructed using either of these architectures, although the antennas suffer from narrow bandwidths. In each case, the HTS antenna shows a substantial improvement over an identical antenna made with normal metals  相似文献

多输入多输出(MIMO) 无线通信系统已经成为提高通信系统可靠性和数据传输速率的有效技术。MIMO 通信系统中,终端天线的性能对系统通信容量的提升至关重要。为了提高天线端口隔离度,提出了一种在微带天线辐射贴片上加载缝隙阵列实现天线极化分集,提高天线隔离度的方法,并且将这种方法应用于两个2 单元微带MIMO 天线设计中,取得了良好的效果。缝隙阵列加载不但抑制了微带MIMO 天线单元间的耦合,而且产生了更多谐振频点,改善了高频谐振频点畸变的天线辐射方向图,并且天线尺寸也得到了很大的减缩。最后对比分析了设计的两个微带MIMO 天线,实测结果与仿真计算比较可知,在工作带宽内,单元天线间耦合得到了非常有效的抑制。这种在平面天线辐射贴片加载缝隙阵列改变天线极化方向的技术可以很好地用来抑制多天线系统中单元天线间的耦合,而且对天线的其他性能不会造成影响。  相似文献

引入了一种崭新的天线概念-可重构天线。首先根据传统微带天线腔模理论定性地分析了微带可重构天线的工作机理,然后用时域有限差分(FDTD)法对微带天线的可重构特性进行了仿真分析。仿真和分析表明,矩形微带可重构天线当某一边长大于等于一个工作波长时,能够获得良好的可重构特性。  相似文献

根据微带天线的设计技术要求,介绍了微带天线带宽的影响因素。在矩形毫米波微带天线设计与分析的基础上,分别设计出 C 型和 W 型两种宽带毫米波开槽微带天线。利用仿真软件对3 种天线的输入回波损耗、驻波系数、相对带宽和方向性等技术参数进行仿真优化和比较分析。仿真与实验结果表明,3 种天线的设计均满足技术要求,C 型和 W 型开槽微带天线较矩形微带天线的相对带宽大幅提高,且具备良好的定向辐射特性。  相似文献

The narrow bandwidth of a microstrip antenna is one of the important features that restrict its wide usage. A simple and practical method for the design of broad-band microstrip antennas is presented in this paper. Utilizing this design technique, several two-layer microstrip antennas have been proposed. To confirm the applicability of the method for the designs of antennas at L-band, experiments have been carried out. The measured results show that the proposed antennas have a bandwidth of up to 25.7%. Also, the method proposed in this paper is applicable to the design of other types of multilayered planar antennas  相似文献

A circular microstrip antenna has been modified by shorting along the zero field to yield shorted semi-circular and 90° sectoral microstrip antennas. Experimental results on these antennas are presented. The shorted 90° sectoral antenna results in a size reduction of four times without any significant change in performance. The area is further reduced by partially shorting one of the edges of the 90° sectoral antenna  相似文献

Radiation and scattering characteristics of microstrip antennas and arrays printed on ferrite substrates with a normal magnetic bias field are described. The extra degree of freedom offered by the biased ferrite can be used to obtain a number of novel characteristics, including switchable and tunable circularly polarized radiation from a microstrip antenna having a single feed point, dynamic wide-angle impedance matching for phased arrays of microstrip antennas, and a switchable radar cross section reduction technique for microstrip antennas. Results are obtained from full-wave moment method solutions for single microstrip antennas and infinite arrays of microstrip antennas. A cavity model solution for a circular patch antenna on a biased ferrite substrate is also presented, to aid in understanding the operation of these antennas  相似文献

By embedding a pair of properly-bent narrow slots in an equilateral-triangular microstrip patch, broadband operation of microstrip antennas with an inset microstrip-line feed can be achieved. With the proposed antenna design, the impedance bandwidth can be as large as ~3.0 times that of a corresponding simple triangular microstrip antenna. The effect of multilayer geometry on microstrip antennas is investigated for the design of antenna-integrated mechanical structure. Changes in the gain of antenna due to the geometry have been determined using a transmission line analogy. Design of high-gain antenna in bandwidth is proposed away from structural resonance. Experiments are done on microstrip antennas covered by superstrates in order to verify high-gain conditions theoretically derived herein. The off-resonant conditions that use practical materials of moderate thickness make it possible to design the antenna-integrated mechanical structure with the perfect integration of high mechanical and electrical performances  相似文献

Two broadband configurations consisting of three hybrid-coupled equilateral and isosceles triangular microstrip antennas have been proposed. Both configurations yield more than four times the bandwidth as compared with the corresponding single triangular microstrip antenna. The radiation pattern of a hybrid-coupled isosceles triangular microstrip antenna is in the broadside direction with very small variation over the entire bandwidth. In addition, this antenna has wide half power beamwidth, making it suitable as an element for the large scan broadband antenna array.  相似文献

The sinuous antennas have a numerous applications in military and civil systems such as direction finding systems and reflector feeds due to their superior broadband characteristics and simultaneous polarization capability. In this paper, design, construction and measurements of planar sinuous antennas are investigated for 1–5 GHz frequency range. Feeding sections of this antenna are realized by using microstrip tapered baluns. We have determined the microstrip tapered balun dimensions using Ansoft HFSS-simulation program. The performances of the manufactured antenna are measured using HP vector network analyzer. Polarization patterns and return loss characteristics of the designed antenna that have been measured in anechoic chamber, are presented.  相似文献

With the loading of a pair of right-angle slots and a modified U-shaped slot in a rectangular microstrip patch, novel bandwidth enhancement of microstrip antennas is demonstrated. The required dimensions of the right-angle slots and modified U-shaped slot for bandwidth enhancement with good radiating characteristics have been determined experimentally in this study and the obtained antenna bandwidth can be as large as about 2.4 times that of a corresponding unslotted rectangular microstrip antenna. Details of the antenna design and experimental results are presented and discussed.  相似文献

A novel contact-less, differential feeding technique suitable for integrated active antenna design is demonstrated. This technique utilizes an odd mode signal to generate fringing fields on either side of a microstrip gap under the antenna. This allows electromagnetic energy to be efficiently coupled from the transmission lines to the radiating antenna. In a balanced integrated antenna amplifier configuration, the proposed non-contact feeding method removes the need for any balun or power combining network. Hence in theory, a compact RF front-end design with lower losses can be realized. This feeding method has been successfully applied to the design of simple passive microstrip patch antennas and active integrated antennas (AIA). Simulated and measured results are also included to validate the proposed feeding concept and antenna designs. The performance of the proposed differential feeding technique on a simple microstrip patch antenna has been systematically studied. The study suggests that the proposed proximity method is broadband in nature, allowing antennas operating at different resonant frequencies to be swapped without the need to change the feed dimensions and without degrading the matching performance  相似文献

Switchable antennas consisting of microstrip elements with an in-plane biased ferrite cover layer are introduced. Their radiation and radar cross section (RCS) properties are examined through a full-wave moment-method analysis. For microstrip antennas with a ferrite cover layer, the presence of a decaying extraordinary wave in the ferrite layer can reduce or prohibit incident fields from reaching the antenna resulting in significant RCS reduction. For antenna radiation, most of the power will be converted into magnetostatic waves and little radiates into the air. Under such circumstances, the antennas are “off,” in the sense that they are effectively absent as radiators or scatterers. The aim of this paper is, through the use of an accurate full-wave analysis, to investigate the properties of the switchable microstrip antennas. Both the cases of strip dipoles and rectangular patches are analyzed. The effects of the cover-layer thickness, bias-field strength, and the existence of both ordinary and extraordinary waves on the switchable antenna properties are discussed  相似文献

Equilateral and triangular 30°-60°-90° microstrip antennas have been modified by shorting along the zero field to yield shorted 60 and 30°-sectoral microstrip antennas, respectively. Experimental results on these antennas are presented. The shorted 60 and 30°-sectoral antennas result in area reduction by factors of 2.5 and 5.0, respectively, compared to the equilateral triangular antenna with the same resonant frequency. The frequency is further reduced by partially shorting the curved edges of the sectoral antennas  相似文献
