Sorption of propylene oxide (PPO) by various commodities was studied at different concentrations during a 4-h exposure at 30 °C. A gas chromatograph was used to determine sorption of PPO applied at concentrations of 24, 49, 82 and 112 mg/l by 1±0.01 kg of narcissus bulbs, wheat, corn and cocoa beans in 2.64-l fumigation chambers. Results showed that for corn and cocoa beans the decrease in concentration during the first hour, that ranged from 40% to 76% of the initial concentration applied, was much greater than that for narcissus bulbs and wheat, which ranged from 25% to 41% of the initial concentration applied. PPO was initially taken up faster by corn and cocoa beans than by narcissus bulbs and wheat. The average sorption rate for each commodity increased with increasing initial concentration. The average sorption rate of PPO by corn and cocoa beans ranged from 14.9 to 48.6 ((mg/kg)/h) which was higher at each concentration than sorption by narcissus bulbs and wheat. In spite of the relatively high rates of sorption, the PPO residues among wheat, corn and cocoa beans immediately following a 4-h fumigation were well below the 300 ppm tolerance. These data show that PPO rapidly desorbed from the commodities under fumigation at 30 °C and at ambient atmospheric pressure. 相似文献

During September 2009, we performed a rapid cross-sectional study to investigate the extent of aflatoxin contamination among common Bangladeshi foods. We collected eight common human food commodities (rice, lentils, wheat flour, dates, betelnut, red chili powder, ginger and groundnuts) and poultry feed samples from two large markets in each of three cities in Bangladesh. We quantified aflatoxin levels from pooled subsamples using fluorescence high-performance liquid chromatography. Aflatoxin levels were highest in dates and groundnuts (maximum 623 and 423?ng/g), respectively. Samples of betelnut (mean 30.6?ng/g), lentils (mean 21.2?ng/g) and red chili powder (>20?ng/g) also had elevated levels. The mean aflatoxin level among poultry feed samples was 73.0?ng/g. Aflatoxin levels were above the US maximum regulatory levels of 20?ng/g in five of eight commonly ingested human food commodities tested. 相似文献

Indoxyl and cresol sulphates were determined in retail milk products and milk protein commodities. Indoxyl sulphate (IXS) and p-cresol sulphate/m-cresol sulphate (PCS/MCS) varied widely among the milk proteins (IXS: <0.10–3.74 mg kg?1 protein; PCS/MCS: <2–44.1 mg kg?1 protein), but were strongly correlated (r2 > 0.93), with PCS/MCS, on average, 11.3 ± 3.3 (n = 15) times IXS. IXS and PCS/MCS decreased with protein enrichment (from 57 to 83% protein) in a milk protein concentrate, indicating removal by the ultrafiltration process. In addition, the lowest IXS and PCS/MCS levels were found in the ultrafiltered commodities: milk protein concentrates, milk protein isolates, and whey protein concentrates. These data were consistent with the reduction of IXS and PCS/MCS in fat free milk by bench scale ultrafiltration. The distribution of cresol sulphates was approximated as 70% para-, 30% meta-, and <5% ortho-cresol sulphates. 相似文献

针对丝绸精炼废水中含有大量溶解性丝胶蛋白质,利用其两性特点,经过酸析提取粗丝胶蛋白质,并对丝绸精炼废水进行预处理;对酸析上清波利用超滤膜分离技术进一步浓缩丝胶蛋白质及废水处理.结果表明,在最佳条件下酸析CODcr去除率在35%以上,超滤CODcr去除率在70%左右,从最终结果看,经过酸析和超滤处理以后的出水还不能达到排放要求,还需进一步生物处理. 相似文献
