A novel planar meander sleeve monopole antenna for digital video broadcasting-hand held (DVB-H) and GSM mobile handsets is presented. By using the planar sleeve monopole type radiating element constructed with meander strips, the antenna provides a degree of miniaturisation while retaining a wide bandwidth covering the DVB-H and GSM-900 bands. A prototype is constructed and tested, which shows that an impedance bandwidth of 498 MHz (463-961 MHz) within 2.5:1 VSWR is achieved.  相似文献

A modified meander line monopole antenna is presented for broadband operation. The impedance and radiation characteristics of the antenna are investigated. The proposed antenna achieved a bandwidth of approximately 845 MHz with S11< -10 dB, which covered the GPS, DCS, PCS, UMTS and WiBro bands. The electrical characteristics of the proposed antenna appear to be attractive for mobile terminals and repeater applications.  相似文献

A novel multiple meander strip monopole antenna is presented. By iteratively meandering the vertical strip, compactness and broadband characteristics for the monopole antenna were achieved simultaneously. The designed monopole antenna with a radiation element volume of 14/spl times/14/spl times/14 mm/sup 3/ has the measured bandwidth ratio of 3.87:1, from 2.83 to 10.96 GHz for VSWR/spl les/2, with fairly frequency-insensitive omni-directional radiation characteristics.  相似文献

The aim of this reported work was to achieve miniaturisation of an antenna for a wireless mic system covering the 216-224 MHz band. A double rectangular loop structure using a meander line was applied for size reduction and the broad bandwidth of the antenna. As a result of the installation of the mic, a length reduction ratio of 91.3% at 221 MHz and -10 dB bandwidth of 9.85 MHz (4.45%) were obtained.  相似文献

An internal modified monopole antenna for DVB-H band is presented. By extending the feeding line of the modified monopole and locating it over a ground plane, a wideband input impedance of 328 MHz within 6:1 VSWR is achieved. The proposed antenna has an approximately omnidirectional radiation pattern and yields greater than -3 dBi antenna gain covering DVB-H band. A modified earpiece cord is proposed and evaluated as a wideband antenna for DVB-H reception. By winding the cord into a high-impedance RF choke at one-quarter wavelength distance from the handset connection, a stable wideband input impedance is achieved. Using two-chip components for impedance matching, the complete UHF band can be covered with >35% antenna efficiency. Measured and simulated results are presented with good agreement.  相似文献

A multi-band monopole antenna with wideband characteristic is proposed for DVB-H/DCS1800/PCS1900/IMT2000/Wibro/WLAN/ S-DMB applications. By using a meander structure and tapered feeding line, wideband characteristic can be achieved. The proposed antenna has an omnidirectional radiation pattern and yields greater than -4 dBi of antenna gain at the DVB-H band and 3 dBi for high- band, respectively.  相似文献

By introducing an extended conductor line to a rectangular meander monopole, a novel compact dual-frequency monopole antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna is fed using a 50 /spl Omega/ CPW transmission line, is printed in a single metal layer, and therefore is easily constructed. The designed antenna can operate at 900 and 1800 MHz bands and provide sufficient bandwidths for the GSM and DCS systems, respectively.  相似文献

When a shorting pin is added to the planar monopole antenna, an additional mode is excited below the fundamental mode. By optimising the dimensions. A compact wideband antenna can be constructed. The size reduction achievable for this antenna is ~50% compared with an equivalent planar monopole without a shorting pin. Owing to its compact size and wideband performance, this antenna is suitable for use in existing and future mobile communication terminals  相似文献

A MEMS meander monopole antenna is fabricated in the form of a folded microstrip on the upper and bottom surfaces of the substrate. This design is based on the meander line principle with a three-dimensional structure to achieve reduced size compared to many other small size printed antennas. The MEMS technologies, such as excimer laser drilling and copper electroplating were used in the fabrication of this antenna. This antenna can be mounted on the silicon wafer by anodic bonding technology. The design features 2.45 GHz operating frequency with 190 MHz bandwidth for WLAN applications. The geometric length of the antenna is 21 mm, and the width is 4 mm. Measured results have good agreement with simulation data.  相似文献

A novel compact microstrip-fed meander slot antenna is proposed to achieve suppression of harmonics and miniaturisation of the antenna. To obtain these characteristics, a meander-type slot radiator and U-shaped conductor line connected with the ground plane are applied. The real parts of the measured input impedance at the second- and third-harmonic frequencies are nearly zero. In the measured radiation patterns in E- and H-plane, the second- and third-harmonic suppressions are observed to be approximately less than -30 dB.  相似文献

A novel compact and uniplanar CPW-fed Sierpinski fractal monopole antenna is presented. A fractal radiating element represents the fourth iteration of the Sierpinski gasket with scale factor /spl delta/=1.5. The antenna is printed on a single layer dielectric substrate and fed by 50 /spl Omega/ CPW transmission line. A microstrip-fed dual-band antenna with omnidirectional radiation patterns in the azimuth plane is proposed. It can provide two separate impedance bandwidths of 0.25 GHz (2.3-2.55 GHz) and 0.85 GHz (5.1-5.95 GHz), so that it easily covers the required bandwidths for wireless local area network applications. The proposed antenna is composed of a rectangular monopole and a folded strip whose end is coupled to the monopole by a narrow gap. It occupies an area of only 6.5 times 14 mm when printed on an FR4 substrate with a thickness of 1.5 mm.  相似文献

Novel slow-wave coplanar waveguide (CPW) filters using high temperature superconductor (HTS) films are presented. Both half-wavelength and quarter-wavelength resonators are used in the filter topology. The miniaturisation is achieved using meander structure and interdigital grounding lines. A 3-pole Chebyshev bandpass filter has been designed, fabricated and studied. The untuned experimental results are in very good agreement with the simulated responses.  相似文献

A compact and simple coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed monopole antenna for 5 GHz wireless communication is proposed. By properly adjusting the lengths of both the monopole strip and the inverted L-shaped ground, the designed antenna, with, including ground plane, only 9/spl times/9.5 mm/sup 2/, can operate at the desired 5.2 or 5.8 GHz band. The electromagnetic coupling effect between the radiating strip and the ground on excitation of the resonant mode has been studied. Prototypes of the proposed antenna have been constructed and experimentally studied. Measured results show a -10 dB impedance bandwidth and an average antenna gain of 400 MHz and >6 dBi, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, a compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed ultra-wide band (UWB) multi input multi output (MIMO) antenna is proposed. The antenna consists of two antiparallel hexagonal ring monopole elements. Circular arcs shaped grounded stubs are used to enhance the isolation, both the arcs are connected through stub to make common ground. Tapering of the slots of CPW feed line at feed point, and grounded slots are introduced for impedance matching over UWB. The proposed antenna is fabricated and impedance bandwidth, isolation, radiation pattern, and gain are measured. Moreover, envelop correlation coefficient (ECC) results are given. Proposed antenna structure operates in the frequency range 3–12 GHz with a fractional bandwidth of 120% keeping isolation better than 15 dB. The antenna has a compact size of 45 × 25 mm2.  相似文献

A novel dual-frequency monopole antenna, with a low profile and also with a small transverse size, is proposed. Firstly, by investigating and utilising a taper meander line antenna with a very large vertex angle, the antenna height is reduced to 15 mm. Secondly, by wrapping it in a box-like structure, the antenna transverse width is reduced to 12 mm. Thirdly, by introducing another geometrically complementary meander line branch, the second resonant mode is enhanced. Finally an antenna with dimensions of 15/spl times/12/spl times/7 mm is designed, and good impedance bandwidth performance for GSM (890-960 MHz) and DCS (1710-1880 MHz) bands is observed.  相似文献
