A computer-aided tool for the design of switching power supplies integrating a layout editor, autorouter, component library builder and EMI simulator is presented. The software takes on a modular approach and develops the printed circuit board (PCB) layout with emphasis on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The prediction of interference level is achieved by SPICE simulation with suitable model assignments of EMI sources, components, and PCB tracks. An offline forward power converter is built and measured to verify the simulated result. A novel course conducted for the past three years at the National University of Singapore is described. The course design projects introduce students to microwave monolithic integrated circuit (MMIC) component and subsystem design and expose them to modern computer-aided design (CAD) tools, industry standard test equipment, and procedures. In addition, since the proposed topics are industry-collaborated research projects, students gain new enthusiasm for the circuit design and directly see the importance and relevance in the engineering field. In contrast to the available MMIC courses conducted in the other universities or organizations, these students are given the complete freedom to implement the hardware within a fixed time frame. Implementation of these MMIC circuitries using external foundries, such as United Monolithic Semi-conductor (UMS), Philips Microwave Limeil (PML), and Triquint, has proven to be highly motivational and educational and, eventually, has led to increased enrollments in other higher level electromagnetic and microwave circuit modules. 相似文献

The VLSI project class at Princeton University has been redesigned, using modern logic and layout synthesis tools, to emphasize system design issues. The design methodology taught in the class allows students to build larger designs; it also allows them to learn, by redesign, how to trade off layout, circuit, logic, and architectural design problems. Two synthesis tools were developed (based on the Oct tool set from UC Berkeley) to generate standard cell layouts: one which takes as input finite-state machine transition tables; and one which generates netlists using C programs. 随着开关电源工作频率不断提高,电磁干扰问题也变得日益严重,结合LLC半桥谐振开关电源的设计实例,首先分析了高频传导干扰对PCB电磁兼容性的影响。在EMC分析中,使用Cadence SPB 16.3与Ansoft Designer 6.1相结合的方法,基于场的原理,建立PCB仿真模型,分析LLC半桥谐振开关电源PCB的电磁兼容特性。其次,根据电磁场近场分布图,对PCB的布局布线加以改进,提高了PCB的电磁兼容特性。最后,仿真结果表明其电磁场强度有较大幅度减小,同时进一步验证了设计阶段中针对PCB改进的合理性。 相似文献

Current high-speed PCB (printed circuit board) designs need extra care due to the frequency of operation and reduced rise time signals. We present the main issues and parameters that a PCB designer has to consider and analyze before a board layout is created. First order approximation equations for various parameters are presented, based on the geometry of the PCB traces. Some useful design practices are also mentioned. As the speed of operation increases, the variables that are neglected in the lower frequency/higher rise time situation become more significant. Such parameters increase the complexity of the design. Three-dimensional analysis becomes a must to calculate and model interconnects accurately. This is where field solvers and the role of the signal integrity engineer come into play. 相似文献

水下自航器紧凑而狭小的结构要求其内部大量的线缆成束敷设,这使得线缆串扰问题成为其系统电磁兼容性设计一个关键考虑因素,双绞线凭借其良好的电磁兼容(EMC)特性在水下自航器中被广泛采用。基于线缆串扰的传输线模型,对比分析了单线与双绞线的抗干扰特性,并重点对双绞线端接不同负载下的抗干扰能力进行了仿真与试验研究。试验结果表明双绞线端接负载对其抗干扰能力有比较明显的影响,实际电磁兼容工程设计中必须予以考虑。研究结果可用于指导水下自航器中线缆布局的电磁兼容性优化设计。 相似文献
