First four frequencies have been computed for an elliptical plate half of whose boundary (y0) is clamped and the other half is free. The thickness of the plate is taken varying linearly with space coordinates. The Rayleigh–Ritz method has been used to obtain successive approximations utill convergence is achieved up to at least four significant figures. Results are tabulated for various values of the taper parameters. Three-dimensional mode shapes and the associated contour lines have been plotted in some selected cases. A table showing the rate of convergence with increasing order of approximation is given. Comparison has been made with known results in special cases. For the sake of completeness, results for the cases when the entire boundary is clamped or completely free are also reported.  相似文献

Free transverse vibrations of elliptical and circular plates of variable thickness with half of the boundary is simply supported and the rest is completely free have been computed till the first four frequencies converge to at least four significant digits. The thickness of the plate is taken varying linearly with space coordinates. Computations have been carried out by using the famous Rayleigh–Ritz method. Results are reported for various values of the taper parameters. Almost all the results reported here are entirely new. A table has been prepared to indicate the trend of convergence of the results with increasing the order of approximation. Comparison has been made with known results in special cases. For the sake of completeness, results for the cases when the entire boundary is simply supported or completely free are also reported. Three-dimensional mode shapes and the associated contour lines have been plotted in some selected cases using tools of Computer Graphics and Turbo C++.  相似文献

Elliptical and circular fibre reinforced composite plates are important structural elements in modern engineering structures. Vibration analysis of these elements are of interest to structural designers. The present paper deals with the free transverse vibration analysis of symmetrically laminated solid and annular elliptic and circular plates with several complicating effects.The approach developed is based on the Rayleigh–Ritz method where the deflection of the plate is approximated by a general shape function of polynomial type.The analysis includes several complicating effects, such as the presence of an internal hole, an internal ring support, several concentrated masses and the boundary elastically restrained against rotation and translation.Several examples are solved and some results which correspond to particular cases are compared with existing values in the literature. New results are also presented for cross-ply and angle-ply elliptical and circular laminates with different boundary conditions.The algorithm developed can be applied to a wide range of elastic restraint conditions, to any aspect ratio and to higher modes. The effect of the restraint parameters along the boundary on the natural frequencies for plates with these complicating effects is considered.  相似文献

This paper introduces the discrete singular convolution algorithm for vibration analysis of rectangular plates with mixed boundary conditions. A unified scheme is proposed for the treatment of simply supported, clamped and transversely supported (with nonuniform elastic rotational restraint) boundary conditions. The robustness and reliability of the present approach are tested by a number of numerical experiments. All results agree well with those in the literature.  相似文献

Rayleigh-Ritz method has been employed to obtain approximations to frequencies and mode shapes of circular plates with variable thickness. The boundary is either clamped, simply supported or completely free. The main distinguishing feature of the present investigations is that the thickness approximation is done by measuring thickness at a suitable set of sample points and then using interpolation to get the approximating polynomial. Thus, unlike other methods already available in literature where either linear or quadratic variation of thickness has been examined, here one can have a polynomial of arbitrary degree depending upon the number and locations of the sample points. The results have been tabulated in a large number of cases and three-dimensional mode shapes have been plotted for some selected cases. Comparison has been made with available results. A short tables are also given to depict the rate of convergence with the order of approximation.  相似文献

This paper examines the buckling and collapse of cylindrical shells under axial load with one end radially and tangentially fixed, with varying axial fixity, and the other end free. The bifurcation loads are found for elastic cylinders, while collapse loads are found for both elastic and elastic-perfectly plastic cylinders. The varying axial restraint is applied in the form of linear springs. The eigenvalue buckling loads are calculated with conditions matching those of a classical analysis. Bifurcation loads are shown to be a function of the axial restraint; as the axial restraint is increased, the bifurcation load increases dramatically, until it reaches that of a semi-infinite, open ended cylinder. A non-dimensional form of the axial spring stiffness is proposed, and shown to be applicable across a range of geometries.The collapse load and imperfection sensitivity of cylinders with the boundary conditions examined here is also found to be a function of the axial restraint. Cylinders with low axial restraint are shown to be imperfection insensitive, with collapse loads above, or close to, the bifurcation load. As the amount of axial restraint increases, the collapse behaviour displays a degree of imperfection sensitivity associated with more usual boundary conditions.  相似文献

利用薄板的弯曲振动理论,推出了固定边界条件下带有一个阶梯的阶梯圆盘的频率方程,提出了求解频率方程的数值计算方法,编制了计算程序,由此可计算出阶梯圆盘的半径和节线位置,设计出完整的阶梯圆盘。并用有限元仿真软件对阶梯圆盘的振型和位移分布进行了计算,两者计算结果基本吻合,为这种条件下阶梯圆盘的设计提供了方法。  相似文献

Determination of material properties of orthotropic plates with general elastic boundary supports using the Inverse method is presented in this paper. The material properties were identified through updating four parameters in the governing equation of a symmetrically laminated thin plate. The sum of the squared difference of the natural frequencies obtained from modal testing was minimized using the Forward method. The displacement function was expressed as a 2-D Fourier cosine series supplemented with several terms in the form of 1-D series. A classical solution was derived by letting the series exactly satisfy the governing differential equation and all the boundary conditions at every field and boundary point. In the Inverse method, the series expansions for all the relevant derivatives of the eigen frequencies were obtained through term-by-term differentiations of the displacements. Many simulations were done but one numerical example is presented to demonstrate the accuracy and convergence of the solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, the analysis of the titled problem is based on classical thin-plate theory, and its numerical solution is carried out by using the small parameter method and Lévy-type approach. The thin rectangular plate considered herein is simply supported on two opposite edges. The boundary conditions at the other two edges may be quite general, and between these two edges the plate may have varying thickness. Closed-form solutions have been developed for the static response of isotropic rectangular plates with non-uniform thickness variation and subjected to arbitrary loading. The accuracy of the present model is demonstrated via problems for which the exact solutions and numerical results are available, and results are also compared with those obtained by using the finite-difference method.  相似文献
