In industrial trials on the 30-80 ball-rolling mill at PJSC “Donetsk Metal Rolling Plant”, operational guidelines are developed for the production of grinding balls (diameter 40 mm) in hardness class V from continuous-cast eutectoid steel 85 provided by LLC “Elektrostal”. Rolling parameters for this process are recommended. Measures are developed to improve ball performance.  相似文献

Reducing greenhouse gases (GHG), especially CO2, is necessary to counteract climate change. The European steel industry currently corresponds to 5.7% of the total EU emissions and must therefore minimize their GHG fractions in the future. One of the most promising technologies to eliminate CO2 emissions while directly reducing iron ore to steel in a single step is the hydrogen plasma smelting reduction. The stability of the plasma arc, which is determined by the properties and geometry of the graphite electrode, has a substantial impact on the process’ economic feasibility. To study the arc stability concerning the graphite quality, tip geometry, and electrode gap, a series of experiments is conducted. The results are evaluated to create stability maps and fields to identify stable process parameters. The geometry of the graphite cathode shows the primary influence on arc stability. Tips with a flat end (standard version) offering the most unstable and a machined step on the graphite cathode providing the most stable conditions. However, an additional coating to prevent side arcing leads to the deterioration of the arc. The two graphite grades tested, with different maximum grain sizes and price classes, show no great relevance to the stability of the arc.  相似文献

As a rule, the reduction kinetics for hematite in industrial units differs markedly from the process under laboratory conditions. A study is made of the reduction kinetics of hematite concentrate under conditions most closely approximating industrial conditions (in a pilot furnace for annealing powder raw material developed at the Gas Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and constructed at the Advanced Research Center for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (Hyderabad, India). The essence of the experiment, called the frozen furnace by us, consists of the fact that at a prescribed instant of time the reducing atmosphere in the furnace is replaced by an inert atmosphere stopping the reduction process and fixing its current state. The kinetic reduction curve is obtained for a freely poured flat dispersed layer of hematatite concentrate. Reduction is separated into three clearly defined periods: quasihomogeneous, diffusion-autocatalytic, and diffusion. The similarity of reduction of a dispersed layer of material and an individual particle is confirmed, and the difference only consists in the geometric and time scales. These studies make it possible to evaluate the role of the scale factor in predicting the reduction of a dispersed layer of material under industrial conditions.  相似文献

Impaired functioning of the prefrontal cortex is particularly prominent in many forms of psychopathology and in degenerative brain diseases. Because it is challenging to draw causal links between specific brain abnormalities and impaired cognition in these conditions, research using nonhuman animals has a key role to play in elucidating the neurobiological mechanisms of prefrontal cortex function and aiding the search for treatments. This role is clearly illustrated in the review articles and original research reports in this special section. Taken together, these papers demonstrate the insights that have already been gained from research with nonhuman animals as well as the work that still needs to be done to attain the goal of understanding human prefrontal cortical function in both health and disease.
