Databases were introduced to remove redundancy from conventional file systems and encouragesharing, which resulted in update anomalies when information was modified. With presentations (movies) sharing clips (sequence of frames), continuous display becomes challenging as well. Continuous display requires the system to retrieve the information with no disruptions or delays (hiccups) once a display is initiated. To ensure a continuous display using a multi-disk hardware platform, a video object is striped into subobjects. The system enforces a regular schedule on retrieval of each subobject by controlling the placement of the subobjects across the disks. Now if different presentations share subobjects, each presentation will enforce its own restrictions on the placement of the data, resulting in an irregular schedule. We investigate approaches to render a schedule regular for two alternative display paradigms: Demand and Data driven.  相似文献

The emergence of entertainment industry motivates the explosive growth of automatically film trailer. Manually finding desired clips from these large amounts of films is time-consuming and tedious, which makes finding the moments of user major or special preference becomes an urgent problem. Moreover, the user subjectivity over a film makes no fixed trailer caters to all tastes. This paper addresses these problems by posing a query-related film clip extraction framework which optimizes selected frames not only meet the semantic meaning of the queries but also have visual similarity on appearance between the query and selected clips. The experimental results show that our query-related film clip retrieval method is particularly useful for film editing, e.g. automatically finding movie clips to arouse audiences’ interests on the film.

为视频序列匹配提出一个高效精确的最大公共子序列(Efficient and Effective Longest Common Subsequence,EELCS)算法。首先,利用矢量量化(Vector Quantization,VQ)将多维最大公共子序列算法(Multi-dimensional LCS,MLCS)中元素对匹配过程中的实际距离的计算简化成比较操作,较原始的最大公共子序列匹配算法(Original LCS,OLCS),该处理不仅可以继承MLCS的可应用到实际多维时序匹配问题中的优点,同时大大降低了匹配的复杂度;然后进一步区分待匹配序列中由于匹配子序列和未匹配子序列在时间轴上连续性而产生的差异;最后将该算法应用到视频片段的匹配中。实验结果表明,与具有代表性的基于时间规扭曲的最大公共子序列(Time-Warped LCS,T-WLCS)和连续最大公共子序列(Continuous LCS,CLCS)相比,该算法能较好地应用于视频序列的匹配。  相似文献

Extracting 3D facial animation parameters from multiview video clips   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We propose an accurate and inexpensive procedure that estimates 3D facial motion parameters from mirror-reflected multiview video clips. We place two planar mirrors near a subject's cheeks and use a single camera to simultaneously capture a marker's front and side view images. We also propose a novel closed-form linear algorithm to reconstruct 3D positions from real versus mirrored point correspondences in an uncalibrated environment. Our computer simulations reveal that exploiting mirrors' various reflective properties yields a more robust, accurate, and simpler 3D position estimation approach than general-purpose stereo vision methods that use a linear approach or maximum-likelihood optimization. Our experiments show a root mean square (RMS) error of less than 2 mm in 3D space with only 20-point correspondences. For semiautomatic 3D motion tracking, we use an adaptive Kalman predictor and filter to improve stability and infer the occluded markers' position. Our approach tracks more than 50 markers on a subject's face and lips from 30-frame-per-second video clips. We've applied the facial motion parameters estimated from the proposed method to our facial animation system.  相似文献

Science and technology devices pose new and vibrant solutions to the day to day problems faced by the Information Technology user society, data security issues are on the rise as well. Now-a-days security concerns are directly proportional with the steep hike in amount of data handled. The greatest threat comes from individuals who try to access information stored in servers or the cloud or any other location without authorised permission. Visual Cryptography is one of such schemes that involves securing ones information and so is Audio Cryptography. We hardly find any approach that takes into consideration both audio and image files. In our paper we present an algorithm that preserves multiple audio and image files of equal length which in turn can be extended to audio-video clips, naming it Audio-Visual Cryptography. These audio-video clips are broken into equal number of dependant share clips using Folded Back Audio-Visual Cryptography Scheme (FBAVCS) such that the decryption process includes basic logical operations between the corresponding pixels and samples, in case of image and audio respectively, of the successive shares.  相似文献

Previous field studies show that surgery residents and medical students have difficulty recognizing appropriate anatomic cues during laparoscopic surgery, causing delays in procedures and errors. Such observations led to the development of an anatomy recognition training intervention, specifically the use of an ordered set of video clips that show the main steps of a laparoscopic procedure. Each procedural step is shown several times in succession, with each repetition coming from a different surgery, thus exposing the learner to varied anatomy and crucial maneuvers. A factorial experiment with 30 medical students showed that the group using these ordered, perceptual learning modules had a significant increase in scores on questions assessing perceptual knowledge and procedural knowledge, with no corresponding increase for the control group who watched the videos from the same cases but in an unstructured format for the same amount of time (p< 0.05). Neither group showed improvement on strategic or declarative knowledge tests. The study suggests that ordered perceptual learning modules are a potential means for training perceptual and procedural knowledge in an effective, safe, and efficient manner, serving as a complement to other types of training methods that teach physical dexterity, strategic and declarative knowledge.  相似文献

Our research investigates the impact that hearing has on the perception of multimedia, with and without captions, by discussing how hearing loss, captions and deafness type affect user quality of perception (QoP). QoP encompasses both the users level of satisfaction and their ability to assimilate informational content of multimedia.Experimental results show that hearing has a significant effect on participants ability to assimilate information, independent of video type or use of captions. It is shown that captioned video does not necessarily provide deaf users with a greater level of information but changes user QoP, providing a greater level of video contextualisation.  相似文献

A method was developed to enable users of video sharing websites to easily retrieve video scenes relevant to their interests. The system analyzes both text and non-text aspects of a user’s comment and then retrieves and displays relevant scenes along with attached comments. The text analysis works in tandem with non-text features, namely, the selected area and temporal duration associated with user comments. In this way, our system supports a better-organized retrieval of scenes that have been commented on with a higher degree of relevancy than conventional methods, such as using matching keywords. We describe our method and the relation between the scenes and discuss a prototype system.  相似文献
