The aim of this article is to report the creation of artificial, robust, and very hydrophobic materials with core–shell polyurethane–polydimethylsiloxane or polyurethane–poly(n-butyl acrylate) polymer microparticles. These latexes were prepared by polyaddition in cyclohexane with commercial or synthetic steric stabilizers. An easy one-step method based on the filtration of the colloidal particles was developed to obtain water-repellent fibrous materials such as paper or textiles that maintain stable properties even after several washing/drying cycles. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The technical performance of five selected commercial photochromic dyes applied by screen‐printing on textiles was evaluated using a colour measurement methodology that has previously been established and validated. The results of wash fastness assessments were distinctly unusual. With the selected spirooxazine dyes, the degree of photocoloration increased with initial washing and decreased with subsequent washings, while the naphthopyrans behaved more normally, showing a consistent marginal decrease in photocoloration with repeated washing. An explanation is proposed consistent with scanning electron microscopy examination of the binder film degradation and with the structural differences between the dye classes. The dyes in this application showed limited photostability. The incorporation of ultraviolet absorbers was found to increase photostability only to an extent specific to particular ultraviolet absorber/dye combinations. However, the presence of the ultraviolet absorber led to a consistent reduction in the degree of photocoloration of the dyes. In contrast, the incorporation of hindered amine light stabilisers significantly enhanced the photostability of the dyes, providing an increase in resistance to photodegradation of up to fivefold.  相似文献

A Contribution on the Examination of Rinsing Agents Containing Softeners Three determinations are important for the examination of the action of rinsing agents on laundry: 1. assay of the texture of textiles treated with rinsing agents containing softeners; 2. water uptake by textiles treated as above; and 3. antistatic action of rinsing agents containing softeners on synthetic and mixed fabrics. Various methods have been employed for the aforesaid determinations, and they have been compared using three well known commercial rinsing agents. The investigations have revealed that some of these methods yield good results that agree with practical evaluations, whereas several other methods are unsatisfactory. Therefore only certain methods should be chosen for such evaluations, if one aims at an objective assessment of rinsing agents.  相似文献

采用适当的工艺对家纺面料进行防螨抗皱整理,测试了相关的性能,结果表明,家纺面料经防螨抗皱整理后,螨虫驱避率达到93.76%,水洗后可达80%左右,厚度和透气性均有不同程度的提高,强力和透湿性稍有下降,抗皱性和柔软性得到改善,使用性增强。  相似文献

In the present study, we examined how wicking and moisture content and tactile sensation of textiles are altered with change in spinning rate and washing. On polyester cotton-blend textiles, moisture was found to increase with the amount of cotton. The evaluated scores of the tactile sensation for the washed textiles were different from those for the original. With the addition of cotton to the polyester textile, the scores greatly approached to the score of the cotton textile.  相似文献

Electrospun nanofibrous mats are popular for their wide technological applications as medical, filtration, sensing and high performance textiles. The potential for coloration of electrospun nanofibrous mats for aesthetic purposes has also been explored recently, and the pigment coloration of cellulose electrospun nanofibrous mats is reported for the first time in this paper. Cellulose acetate electrospun nanofibrous mats were fabricated using electrospinning followed by treatment with sodium hydroxide to synthesise regenerated cellulose electrospun nanofibrous mats. Then the cellulose mats were coloured with commercially available pigments by a pad‐dry‐bake method. Excellent K/S and colour fastness to both washing and light were produced with the application of three commercial pigments. The pH and total dissolved solids content of the coloration wastewater, as well as the mechanical properties of the electrospun nanofibrous mats, were also tested. Attenuated total reflection‐Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy analysis were used for characterisation.  相似文献
