An electric trapping of laser-cooled neutral strontium (Sr) atoms on a chip with micro-electrodes has been successful. The device is called “Stark atom chip” since it makes use of Stark effects on neutral atoms in electric fields. In this paper, our design and prototyping of the Stark atom chip with high aspect ratio electrodes precisely built on a surface are described. The functional requirements of the chip are specified during the discussion of designing the device. The authors design a novel process for fabrication of high aspect ratio electrodes. A focused ion beam (FIB) is used for precision fabrication of the prototype.  相似文献

A Thomson parabola ion spectrometer has been designed for use at the Multiterawatt (MTW) laser facility at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) at the University of Rochester. This device uses parallel electric and magnetic fields to deflect particles of a given mass-to-charge ratio onto parabolic curves on the detector plane. Once calibrated, the position of the ions on the detector plane can be used to determine the particle energy. The position dispersion of both the electric and magnetic fields of the Thomson parabola was measured using monoenergetic proton and alpha particle beams from the SUNY Geneseo 1.7 MV tandem Pelletron accelerator. The sensitivity of Fujifilm BAS-TR imaging plates, used as a detector in the Thomson parabola, was also measured as a function of the incident particle energy over the range from 0.6 MeV to 3.4 MeV for protons and deuterons and from 0.9 MeV to 5.4 MeV for alpha particles. The device was used to measure the energy spectrum of laser-produced protons at MTW.  相似文献

为使机器人运作更灵活、功能更完善,提出在智能电力机器人设计方案中应用人体感应技术。以多光谱自动目标识别技术为基础,将 8 引脚芯片与部分外接元器件结合,组装人体感应装置。 采用全球定位系统与直接数字化 X 射线摄影导航系统,分别依据观测信号传播时间与起点坐标位置和方位角,实现机器人导航与航向控制功能。 在 1 个机器人上安装至少 2 个感应装置,针对形成的感应区域,定义装置基本功能,就不同电力应用场景,建立预警机制与躲避机制。 电力现场实际操作结果表明,设计的感应装置安全预警性能与物体躲避性能比较理想,加强了电力机器人的实用性,使其具备在其他领域中得以广泛应用的潜力与条件。  相似文献

The development of a device for generating ac magnetic fields based on a resonant inverter is presented, which has been specially designed to carry out experiments of magnetic hyperthermia. By determining the electric current in the LC resonant circuit, a maximum intensity of magnetic field around of 15 mT is calculated, with a frequency around of 206 kHz. This ac magnetic field is able to heat powdered magnetic materials embedded in biological systems to be used in biomedical applications. Indeed, in order to evaluate the sensitivity of the device we also present the measurements of the specific absorption rate in phantoms performed with commercially prepared Fe(3)O(4) and distilled water at different concentrations.  相似文献

We have developed a device which employs parallel dc electric and magnetic fields in combination with an array of collectors and accompanying electronic circuits to measure simultaneously the momentum distributions of different ion species from a laser produced plasma. This diagnostic system automatically separates the ion species according to mass to charge ratio and utilizes the cyclotron motion to provide the momentum separation. The principle of operation, design configuration, and circuitry for the system are presented along with representative data obtained from a series of laser-induced plasma experiments.  相似文献

The design of a compact high-energy resolution device based on a symmetrical double Wien filter is presented. An accurate version of the boundary element method (BEM) is employed to model the shape and behaviour of the filters very precisely. Using a direct ray tracing technique, we investigate the geometrical aberrations in the basic filter, in which dipole and quadrupole electric fields and a dipole magnetic field are present. The additions of a quadrupole magnetic component along with some slight modifications in the geometry produce a drastic reduction in the aberrations.  相似文献

This paper concerns the application of scanned probe microscopy to the study of thin silicon dioxide films. We show how the formation of 7 nm diameter silicon carbide particles on a silicon surface during high temperature processing affects the quality of subsequently grown oxide. To measure the local dielectric properties of thin oxides we have developed a new type of probe measurement which allows high resolution surface imaging, based on an atomic force microscope, combined with local electrical measurements. The spatial resolution of the electrical measurements was shown to be < 40 nm. Applying the technique to 500 nm capacitors fabricated on device quality oxide it was shown that some capacitors broke down during imaging while others remained stable at electric fields up to 30 MVcm?1. This higher breakdown strength may have substantial impact on future electronic device reliablity and performance.  相似文献

A novel three-dimensional square ion trap is reported as a mass analyzer or an ion transfer device. The square ion trap was constructed with six square planar electrodes while the electric field was optimized by changing their relative positions to arrange the strength of higher-order fields. Ion trajectory simulations demonstrate the square ion trap efficiently operates with radial and axial excitation. Additionally, ions ejected from the radial direction contained lower kinetic energies and their energy distribution were more centralized. These properties may improve the ion transfer efficiency.  相似文献

The distributions of the electric voltage U(t) that is read from an induction magnetic head as it scans a discrete magnetic medium with residual magnetic field records that were obtained under the action of a pulsed magnetic field with different-polarity surges on a magnetic medium with a tested object are given. The onset of ordered distributions of the residual magnetic fields on the magnetic medium due to the sequential action on it by pulses of the magnetic field is called the hysteresis interference of a pulsed magnetic field (HI). The scheme of an experimental device for studying propagations of pulsed magnetic fields and methods of testing objects made of electroconductive and magnetic materials, which increase the accuracy of the determination of their specific conductivity σ, permeability μ, distribution uniformity of σ and μ, thickness, and parameters of continuous defects in them, are described.  相似文献

A pulsed ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer utilizes the cyclotron resonance principle for mass analysis of ions trapped at low pressures by electric and magnetic fields. Both mass analysis and ion trapping are accomplished in a one-region device called a trapped ion analyzer cell. A pulsing sequence is described which allows for generation of ions by electron impact, reaction with added gases, and mass analysis of the products of ion-molecule reactions. Methods are described for measuring rate constants and equilibrium constants for ion-molecule reactions. The high ion trapping efficiency and open geometry of the analyzer cell make it well suited for studying the interaction of laser radiation with gaseous ions and may also be useful for high-accuracy isotope ration mass spectrometry.  相似文献

We present the theory and design of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer with orthogonally polarized arms that passively, noninvasively, optically amplifies polarization rotation in one arm of the interferometer. Theoretical analysis of the electric fields in the two arms is used to compare the significance of device optimizations. Design of the beam alignment, beam recombination, noise isolation, and active stabilization to enable reliable measurements are thoroughly discussed. Finally, we review a comparison between the interferometer with an optical gain factor of approximately 4.5 and the optical bridge (OB) technique for polarization rotation detection that shows the interferometer offers better performance than the OB.  相似文献
