本文提出了一种Mobile Ad hoc网络(Manet)链路状态分组路由算法(Link State-hased Cluster Routing Algo-rithm-LSCR),该算法对Manet节点进行动态分组,每一组选举出一个具有最大度数的头结点(CH-Cluster Header),该cH负责本组信息的管理、组内结点与组外结点之间的通信以及与其他组的CH之间交换链路状态信息等工作.本算法将改进的链路状态协议与分组路由协议有机结合,有效提高了Manet网络的路由效率.分析和实验结果表明,这种算法具有路由收敛速度快、维护成本相对较低,数据包发送成功率高,发送等待时间短等特点。  相似文献

One possibility direction to assist routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is to use geographical location information provided by positioning devices such as global positioning systems (GPS). Instead of searching the route in the entire network blindly, position-based routing protocol uses the location information of mobile nodes to confine the route searching space into a smaller estimated range. The smaller route searching space to be searched, the less routing overhead and broadcast storm problem will occur. In this paper, we proposed a location-based routing protocol called LARDAR. There are three important characteristics be used in our protocol to improve the performance. Firstly, we use the location information of destination node to predict a smaller triangle or rectangle request zone that covers the position of destination in the past. The smaller route discovery space reduces the traffic of route request and the probability of collision. Secondly, in order to adapt the precision of the estimated request zone, and reduce the searching range, we applied a dynamic adaptation of request zone technique to trigger intermediate nodes using the location information of destination node to redefine a more precise request zone. Finally, an increasing-exclusive search approach is used to redo route discovery by a progressive increasing search angle basis when route discovery failed. This progressive increased request zone and exclusive search method is helpful to reduce routing overhead. It guarantees that the areas of route rediscovery will never exceed twice the entire network. Simulation results show that LARDAR has lower routing cost and collision than other protocols. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1980, the M.S. degree in computer engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin, U.S.A., in 1986. He is presently a Professor of Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan University, where he initially joined in August 1990. From August 1986 to July 1990, he was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, U.S.A. His current research interests include Petri net theory, formal methods, design and analysis of algorithms, and complexity theory. Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is vulnerable to security attacks because of the shared radio medium and lack of centralized coordination. Since most multi-hop routing protocols implicitly assume cooperative routing and are not originally designed for security attacks, MANET has been challenged by diverse denial-of-service attacks that often interfere with the protocol and interrupt on-going communication. In this paper, we propose an explore-based active detection scheme, called EBAD, to efficiently mitigate the routing misbehaviors in MANETs running with dynamic source routing. The basic idea is that a source node broadcasts a route request packet with a fictitious destination node to lure potential malicious nodes to reply a fake route reply packet. If the source node receives the fake route reply packet or an intermediate node cannot decrypt the received route reply packet, the routing misbehavior can be detected. We also propose a route expiry timer based approach to reduce the effect of route cache pollution because of the fake route reply. We present a simple analytical model of the EBAD and its numerical result in terms of detection rate. We also conduct extensive simulation experiments using the OMNeT++ for performance evaluation and comparison with the existing schemes, CBDS and 2ACK. The simulation results show that the proposed countermeasure can not only improve the detection rate and packet delivery ratio but also can reduce the energy consumption and detection latency.

In this paper, we propose a new quality-of-service (QoS) routing protocol for mobile ad hoc network (MANET) using directional antennas. The proposed scheme offers a bandwidth-based routing protocol for QoS support in MANET using the concept of multi-path. Our MAC sub-layer adopts the CDMA-over-TDMA channel model. The on-demand QoS routing protocol calculates the end-to-end bandwidth and allocates bandwidth from the source node to the destination node. The paths are combined with multiple cross links, called shoelace, when the network bandwidth is strictly limited. Due to the property of the directional antenna, these cross links can transmit data simultaneously without any data interference. We develop a shoelace-based on-demand QoS routing protocol by identifying shoelaces in a MANET so as to construct a QoS route, which satisfied the bandwidth requirement, more easily. The shoelace-based route from the source to the destination is a route whose sub-path is constructed by shoelace structure. With the identified shoelaces, our shoelace-based scheme offers a higher success rate to construct a QoS route. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed routing protocol outperform existing QoS routing protocols in terms of success rate, throughput, and average latency.  相似文献

While on-demand routing protocols have been optimized to use the aid of proxy nodes by considering the possibility of long-lived partitions due to intermittent connectivity, they do not consider the chances of using a proxy for a long distance between a pair of source and destination. In this paper, we introduce a Proxy-Assisted Routing (PART) for efficient data transmission by selecting a proxy node for every path length that is longer than the predefined value between a source and destination. Whenever route errors occur between a source node and proxy node, or a proxy node and destination node, the proxy node repairs a broken route locally by redirecting a new route to the source or destination node. To reduce routing overhead, we delineate a broadcasting zone, where nodes are only allowed to broadcast request packets within the predefined zone to the proxy. Furthermore, unicast transmission is used for the proxy selection process using IP address information at the MAC layer. When we evaluate the performance metrics through simulations, PART significantly reduces the normalized routing load by almost 55% and the packet losses by almost 30%, and increases throughput almost 70% if compared to the traditional routing protocols.  相似文献

We present the on-demand link vector (OLIVE) protocol, a routing protocol for ad hoc networks based on link-state information that is free of routing loops and supports destination-based packet forwarding. Routers exchange routing information reactively for each destination in the form of complete paths, and each node creates a labeled source graph based on the paths advertised by its neighbors. A node originates a broadcast route request (RREQ) to obtain a route for a destination for which a complete path does not exist in its source graph. When the original path breaks, a node can select an alternative path based on information reported by neighbors, and a node can send a unicast RREQ to verify that the route is still active. A node that cannot find any alternate path to a destination sends route errors reliably to those neighbors that were using it as next hop to the destination. Using simulation experiments in ns2, OLIVE is shown to outperform dynamic source routing, ad hoc on-demand distance vector, optimized link-state routing protocol, and topology broadcast based on reverse-path forwarding, in terms of control overhead, throughput, and average network delay, while maintaining loop-free routing with no need for source routes.  相似文献

On-demand routing protocols are widely used in mobile Ad-hoc network (MANET). Flooding is an important dissemination scheme in routing discovering of on-demand routing protocol. However, in high-density MANET redundancy flooding packets lead to dramatic deterioration of the performance which calls broadcast storm problem (BSP). A location-aided probabilistic broadcast (LAPB) algorithm for routing in MANET is proposed to reduce the number of routing packets produced by flooding in this paper. In order to reduce the redundancy packets, only nodes in a specific area have the probability, computed by location information and neighbor knowledge, to propagate the routing packets. Simulation results demonstrate that the LAPB algorithm can reduce the packets and discovery delay (DD) in the routing discovery phase.  相似文献

Terrorist attacks have contributed significantly to using wireless technologies to identify concrete destruction survivors. A dynamic ad hoc mobile network (MANET) consists of wireless linked nodes, which route hop-by-hop without the support of a fixed infrastructure acquires information from trapped survivors. The energy efficiency that extends the lifespan of the network is an essential prerequisite of MANET. Researchers have suggested many strategies to accomplish this purpose and a cluster of these techniques in MANETs are used to provide an energy-efficient approach. In this paper we are proposing a red deer multi-objective constraint applied for an energy efficient QoS routing (RD-MOCER) algorithm to the number of clusters in an ad hoc network and the energy dispensing in nodes to provide an energy effective solution and to minimise network traffic. Intracluster and intercluster traffic is handled by the cluster heads in the proposed approach. The algorithm suggested takes account of mobile nodes' node degrees, transmitting capacity and battery power usage. This approach gives a variety of options at a time, the key benefit of which is that the ideal Pareto front results in these solutions. We correlate the findings with two other well-known methods of clustering; MOPSO and MOEAQ-based clustering with different results. We conduct detailed simulations to demonstrate that the solution proposed is an effective and stronger solution to clustering in ad hoc cell networks than the other two techniques.  相似文献

An efficient anonymous communication protocol, called MANET Anonymous Peer-to-peer Communication Protocol (MAPCP), for P2P applications over mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) is proposed in this work. MAPCP employs broadcasts with probabilistic-based flooding control to establish multiple anonymous paths between communication peers. It requires no hop-by-hop encrypt ion/decryption along anonymous paths and, hence, demands lower computational complexity and power consumption than those MANET anonymous routing protocols. Since MAPCP builds multiple paths to multiple peers within a single query phase without using an extra route discovery process, it is more efficient in P2P applications. Through analysis and extensive simulations, we demonstrate that MAPCP always maintains a higher degree of anonymity than a MANET anonymous single-path routing protocol in a hostile environment. 针对传统的AODV路由协议采用扩展环路由搜索算法导致的路由开销较大,没有考虑节点能量的问题,提出一种新的算法。此算法在路由请求过程中能够根据以前搜索中得到的信息,让多余的节点处于静默状态,不参与下一次的路由发现。并且综合考虑节点能量,尽可能地让低能量节点处于静默状态,从而达到均衡节点能量使用的目的。仿真结果表明改进算法有效延长了网络生存时间,提高了包投递率。  相似文献

In traditional stability-oriented route discovery of mobile ad hoc networks, in-between nodes need to rebroadcast identical route request (RREQ) packets, which contain same source node ID and broadcast sequence number, to discover more stable route, yet it increases routing overhead and data transmission delay obviously. Therefore, a stability-oriented route discovery algorithm is proposed to limit routing overhead and decrease transmission delay. In this algorithm, all neighbor nodes of some node will play a mix strategy game named stability-based RREQ forwarding game after receiving an identical RREQ, and independently determine the RREQ forwarding probability based on Nash equilibrium, respectively. The simulation results show that the proposed stability-oriented route discovery algorithm not only reduces routing overhead and transmission delay effectively, but also improve other routing performance.  相似文献

Recently, the use of a virtual backbone in various applications in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) has become popular. These applications include topology management, point and area coverage, and routing protocol design. In a MANET, one challenging issue is to construct a virtual backbone in a distributed and localized way while balancing several conflicting objectives: small approximation ratio, fast convergence, and low computation cost. Many existing distributed and localized algorithms select a virtual backbone without resorting to global or geographical information. However, these algorithms incur a high computation cost in a dense network. In this paper, we propose a distributed solution based on reducing the density of the network using two mechanisms: clustering and adjustable transmission range. By using adjustable transmission range, we also achieve another objective, energy-efficient design, as a by-product. As an application, we show an efficient broadcast scheme where nodes (and only nodes) in a virtual backbone are used to forward the broadcast message. The virtual backbone is constructed using Wu and Li's marking process [37] and the proposed density reduction process. The application of the density reduction process to other localized algorithms is also discussed. The efficiency of our approach is confirmed through both analytical and simulation study.  相似文献

Sensor nodes are powered by battery and have severe energy constraints. The typical many‐to‐one traffic pattern causes uneven energy consumption among sensor nodes, that is, sensor nodes near the base station or a cluster head have much heavier traffic burden and run out of power much faster than other nodes. The uneven node energy dissipation dramatically reduces sensor network lifetime. In a previous work, we presented the chessboard clustering scheme to increase network lifetime by balancing node energy consumption. To achieve good performance and scalability, we propose to form a heterogeneous sensor network by deploying a few powerful high‐end sensors in addition to a large number of low‐end sensors. In this paper, we design an efficient routing protocol based on the chessboard clustering scheme, and we compute the minimum node density for satisfying a given lifetime constraint. Simulation experiments show that the chessboard clustering‐based routing protocol balances node energy consumption very well and dramatically increases network lifetime, and it performs much better than two other clustering‐based schemes. 由于Ad Hoc网络固有的弱点,设计安全、有效的Ad Hoc路由协议是困难的.本文从新的角度设计了一个简单、安全的On-demand路由协议.在路径请求和响应阶段,源节点和目的节点的身份分别被隐藏,只有那些位于目的节点选择的最优路径上的节点可以获得完整的路由信息,从而产生有效的前向和反向路径.同时,一个公开的单向Hash函数可以利用隐藏的路由信息构建单向Hash链用于路由信息的认证,从而不需要预先的共享密钥.在一次路由计算中,只有源节点和目的节点需要进行一次非对称密码运算.  相似文献

在动态网络拓扑中,AODV协议通过数据源节点S泛洪广播RREQ消息请求到任意目标节点D的路由,而在无线体域网络中,只有一个sink目标节点,除最短跳数路由上的节点外,其他参与RREQ接收和转发的节点浪费了能量。提出了一种能量平衡的无线体域网络AODV多播路由发现协议,通过在节点广播的hello消息中增加到sink的最小跳数hops、到sink的下一跳节点next和节点本身是否具备转发能力isforward 3 个参数,只选择能到达sink节点的邻居节点参与转发RREQ消息,变广播为多播,有效地降低了路由发现的能量开销,并通过能量平衡延长了WBAN的使用寿命。性能分析与模拟实验表明,该协议在RREQ数量、数据传输率和能量消耗等方面优于相似协议EAAODV。  相似文献

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is an open wireless network that comprises a set of mobile, decentralized, and self‐organized nodes. Its properties render its environment susceptible to different types of attacks, which can paralyze the mobile nodes in MANET. A particularly dangerous type of attack is run primarily under flooding bogus packet mechanisms, such as hello floods, routing table overflows, exploitation of node penalizing schemes, and resource consumption attack (RCA). Flooding‐based attacks impose severe effects because they are intended to consume MANET resources, such as bandwidth, node memory, and battery power. Therefore, identifying such effects facilitates the development of countermeasures against the intrusions. In this paper, we introduce a simulation‐based study on the effects of RCA on MANET. Qual Net v5.0.2 is used to examine the severity of the effects on MANET performance metrics in terms of throughput, end‐to‐end delay, energy consumption, and routing overhead. The effects of RCA are also monitored under two combinations of four factors: we first vary the number of attackers and attackers' positions, and then modify the attackers' radio range and flooding rate. The US Department of Defense (DoD) routinely uses wireless sensor networks (WSNs) for military tactical communications. Sensor node die-out has a significant impact on the topology of a tactical WSN. This is problematic for military applications where situational data is critical to tactical decision making. To increase the amount of time all sensor nodes remain active within the network and to control the network topology tactically, energy efficient routing mechanisms must be employed. In this paper, we aim to provide realistic insights on the practical advantages and disadvantages of using established routing techniques for tactical WSNs. We investigate the following established routing algorithms: direct routing, minimum transmission energy (MTE), Low Energy Adaptive Cluster Head routing (LEACH), and zone clustering. Based on the node die out statistics observed with these algorithms and the topological impact the node die outs have on the network, we develop a novel, energy efficient zone clustering algorithm called EZone. Via extensive simulations using MATLAB, we analyze the effectiveness of these algorithms on network performance for single and multiple gateway scenarios and show that the EZone algorithm tactically controls the topology of the network, thereby maintaining significant service area coverage when compared to the other routing algorithms.  相似文献
