将铁电液晶作为缺陷层引入一维光子晶体中,基于液晶的电控双折射,形成快速窄带调谐滤波器.用传输矩阵法研究了铁电液晶缺陷光子晶体的可调谐滤波特性,计算了电场对滤波器透射峰的位置、强度、个数和带宽的影响,结果表明该滤波器呈现良好的滤波功能.  相似文献

研究了共面转换(IPS)液晶盒处于强锚定及弱锚定两种边界状态时横向电场与平面织构胆甾相液晶螺距的关系,探讨了液晶盒表面锚定对胆甾相液晶电控螺距的影响。理论结果表明,共面转换模式下电场可以调谐胆甾相液晶的反射光颜色,而边界锚定效应对电场调谐螺距有显著影响。这一结果为基于电控螺距原理的胆甾相液晶反射式彩色显示方案提供了理论上的依据。  相似文献

铁电液晶存在着自发极化特性,这是由于在这些液晶相中分子间相互作用使分子与自发偶极矩相关的旋转受到限制所致。自发极化是一个非常重要的参数,它与外电场的耦合是手性倾斜近晶相所有应用的基础。自发极化的测量可通过获得极化反转感应的电流进行。本文对各种测试方法进行了简单的评述,并着重对测量中使用方波和三角波的方法进行了比较,实验中发现三角波的方法更易将产生的自发极化反转电流与电容充电电流、离子位移电流分离,因而所获得的实验结果更准确。  相似文献

提出了一种在光子晶体中引入液晶缺陷层的光子晶体调谐滤波器.用传输矩阵法给出了含液晶层时光子晶体的光谱透过率公式,对电压和液晶材料参数对调谐滤波器透射谱的影响进行了数值计算.结果表明,改变电压时光子晶体滤波器的透射峰波长和带宽作周期性变化,在适当电压作用下光子晶体具有多通道滤波功能,而液晶的厚度和固有双折射的改变几乎不能实现光子晶体滤波器的调谐作用.  相似文献

通过分析铁电薄膜微观结构及铁电畴在外电场作用下极化反转机理,将铁电畴等效为一群具有相互独立矫顽场的铁电偶极子.采用几何方法,解释了这些偶极子在不规则电压波形驱动下极化反转的规律.在此基础上,引入铁电电容的极化反转函数来表征铁电电容宏观极化强度随外电场变化的数学表达式.该函数的引入不仅简化了模型的计算量,还成功避免了同类模型中数值微分和数值积分所带来的误差,大大提高了模型精确性.  相似文献

N^*Sc^*铁电液晶由于具备自发极化值较小、能够实现灰度、快速响应等特点,能够满足场序全彩色显示的要求,近年来倍受关注。采用传统的摩擦取向的方法,通过在N^*Sc^*相变时施加10V直流电压,得到了没有SA相铁电液晶的均匀排列。并且获得了半“V”字型的电光特性。分析了摩擦强度和相变时施加的电压对获得均匀排列的影响。  相似文献

近年来,集成铁电学(integrated ferroelectrics)迅速发展。铁电体是一种特殊的电介质,在不存在外场的情况下,它仍然可以保持一个自发的极化强度。其极化方向在外电场的作用下可以发生反转,表现出特殊的非线性介电行为,即电滞回线。文章讨论了铁电电容模型的SPICE实现。首先介绍电容模型的实现,然后结合2T-2C铁电存储单元的工作原理,验证了该模型。最后,给出了一个完整的32位铁电存储器的电路仿真结果。该结果可以非常容易地推广到更大容量的铁电存储器中。  相似文献

压电响应力显微镜为铁电薄膜电畴的研究提供了一种有效的检测方法.本实验用压电响应力显微镜(PFM)对不同退火温度的(Pb,La)TiO3铁电薄膜进行表征,得到了各个样品相应的形貌像、面外电畴像和面内电畴像.结果表明,随退火温度升高,(Pb,La)TiO3铁电薄膜的表面形貌表现出从粘连到结晶较好,到出现抱团的变化过程;此外,随退火温度升高,铁电薄膜的自发极化强度先增强后减弱.通过对这一系列铁电薄膜电畴进一步研究得到:在625℃退火1 h后,(Pb,La)TiO3铁电薄膜以非铁电相为主;而在650℃和675℃退火1 h后,(Pb,La)TiO3铁电薄膜以铁电相为主.  相似文献

The electronic tunability of ferroelectric liquid crystal filled photonic crystal fibres is demonstrated for the first time. The tunability is obtained in the wavelength range of 1500-1600-nm, with a free spectral range of-20-nm. The electronic tunability is achieved by applying an electric field onto the infiltrated photonic crystal fibre which facilitates the photonic bandgap tuning owing to the microsecond-order switching speeds of ferroelectric liquid crystals. The polarised transmission spectrum shows the behaviour of a tunable notch filter with a change in applied voltage. The results obtained could pave the way for the fabrication of fast tunable all-in-fibre devices in the telecom wavelength range.  相似文献

A novel nonmechanical, digitally tunable, polarization insensitive and optically transparent wavelength filter using holograms electro-optically written on a ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) spatial light modulator (SLM) has been constructed and operated to tune to discrete wavelengths spaced by 1.3 nm. The filter has been incorporated in a ring laser which is tunable over a range of 38.5 nm across the erbium window, giving output powers of 10 mW. Both wavelength filter and tunable laser are suitable for wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) applications.  相似文献

An electrically tunable optical filter has been developed that uses a polymer containing fine droplets of nematic liquid crystal as the active cavity in a Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI). This FPI filter, whose finesse was 62, had a free spectral range of 37 nm in the 1.55-μm range with a full-width at half maximum of 0.6 nm and a transmission loss of 2.4 dB. The polarization dependent loss was smaller than 0.17 dB. The transmitted peak wavelength decreased with an electric field. This resulted in a tuning range of 10 nm at 300 V. 基于液晶的电控双折射特性和光子晶体自准直特性,在二维光子晶体引入复合缺陷提出一种可调谐Mach-Zehnder 干涉(MZI)滤波器结构,应用液晶系统的自由能理论,推导了外加电压与液晶有效折射率的关系,并结合MZI 相位调制原理和光子晶体等效折射率理论,得到液晶的电控双折射特性与MZI 滤波器的输出光谱间的数学关系,运用时域有限差分法(FDTD)对滤波器的输出进行仿真模拟,并根据仿真结果对结构进行一级级联的优化设计。结果表明:通过控制外加电压的大小可以改变输出端的透射波长,达到可调谐滤波的效果,并且一级级联后的滤波效果比级联前有很大的改善,滤波的半波带宽从20 nm 减小为7 nm,可调谐范围从15 nm 增大为40 nm,因此可以通过进一步级联的方式使滤波器结构更加的优化,以便运用到光波分复用系统中。  相似文献

We developed new optical switches based on nematic and ferroelectric liquid crystal (LC) cells for photonics applications. Certain new LC switches based on the effect of total internal reflection in nematic LC and deformed helix ferroelectric effect ferroelectric LC with very fast response time were developed. Fast bistable optical switches of the light polarization based on ferroelectric liquid crystal cells were proposed. The switches are characterized by 100 us switching time and 26 dB crosstalk at the wavelength of 632.8 nm and bistable, i.e., required zero power consumption in the switch state.High frequency hysteretic free electrically controlled 0-2π phase modulation of light has been proposed using a very short helix pitch (less than 400 nm) deformed helix ferroelectric liquid crystal. The electrically controlled 0-2π hysteretic free phase modulation was achieved at the driving voltage frequency up to 4 kHz and the voltage amplitude of 32 V. The application of fast V-shaped deformed helix ferroelectric ferroelectric LC (DHF-FLC) for new active-matrix liquid crystal display (LCD) and optical data processing devices is envisaged.Photoalignment technology can be very useful for the new generation of liquid crystal devices as well as in new photovoltaic, optoelectronic and photonic devices based on highly ordered thin organic layers. We have investigated the LC photoalignment in superthin tubes, which are basic elements of switchable photonic crystal/liquid crystal structures and obtained the order parameter comparable with usual homogeneous nematic LC cells. We studied LC alignment on silicon surfaces with submicrometer-sized straight and curved waveguide profiles. The liquid crystal cladding refractive index was then varied according to the applied voltage, and subsequently the microresonator resonance wavelengths were tuned. Based on our initial measurements, the free spectral range (FSR) wavelength shift within the range of 20 nm was obtained, which is comparable with a thermooptic effect. The new voltagecontrollable Si-based add drop filters are envisaged based on this principle.  相似文献

We demonstrate a tunable filter consisting of a subwavelength resonant grating filter cladded by a liquid crystal cell. The resonant wavelength of the grating filter is tuned by electrically varying the refractive index of the liquid crystal. A tuning range of around 20 nm has been achieved.  相似文献

A tunable photonic crystal (PC) filter is proposed with the twisted nematic (TN) liquid crystal (LC) as a defect layer. The polarization sensitive performance and the eigenmodes are analyzed. The results show that there are two kinds of transmission modes, namely o and e, when the voltage is low. The different modes can be selected by rotating the filter axially. The e mode shifts toward the shorter wavelength side as the applied voltage increases. Then the peaks of two modes merge into each other and the polarization sensitive performance disappears. The photonic band gap is insensitive to the voltage. The tunable range of the filter is 53 nm.  相似文献
