focus being e-commerce, we limit our discussion to data mining in the context of e-commerce. We also mention a few directions

Cultural diversity makes it impossible for designers to depend on instinctive knowledge or personal experiences. Therefore, it is vital to understand the requirements, communication patterns, and mental models of users from diverse cultures. The aim of this research is to probe whether incorporating cultural factors into web design can improve the web communication (usability). In this research, two cultures are selected based on Hofstede's cultural dimension model, and the local website audit is further constructed to check if there are significantly different preferences for a web interface design between two cultures (Taiwanese and Australian cultures). The web usability experiment is then established to test if those culturally preferred characteristics can improve the web communication (usability). The results of the usability test reveal that cultural preferences can facilitate the web communication. Furthermore, the suggestions for cross-cultural interaction design are concluded based on the results of the web communication evaluation.Relevance to human factors/ergonomics theoryThis research is relevant to human factors/ergonomics theory. 相似文献

Content usability of websites is central to the success of e-commerce. In the context of international e-commerce, to serve online consumers from different nations better requires taking into account cultural differences in content preferences. The present study explored how online consumers’ content preferences vary between China and the US with regard to economic standing, cognitive style, cultural dimensions, communication context and infrastructure of e-commerce. This exploration was accomplished by conducting a web-based survey of 68 Chinese and 75 US college students, which examined their preferences for 25 information items when purchasing portable electronic products online. Significant differences in preferences between China and the US were found on 13 of these information items. Implications of these differences in content preferences for e-commerce website design in China and the US are discussed. 相似文献

目的为满足用户多样化的需求,提高产品可用性,解决儿童产品可用性及产品评价问题,提出一种面向用户需求的产品可用性评价方法。方法将儿童产品用户需求分为外观需求、操作需求和感知需求,构建以感性意象词汇为基础的产品可用性多维层次指标模型,考虑儿童的认知心理、情感方式以及行为方式,通过层次判断矩阵求解并计算各个可用性感性指标重要度和优先次序。以此为依据开展儿童玩具的设计实践,通过目标用户群对设计案例进行可用性评价,了解儿童玩具产品的可用性情况,为儿童玩具产品的设计与改进提供指导。结论本方法能对产品可用性进行有效评价,发现其中存在的问题并加以改进。 相似文献

目的 智能手机的迅速推广和通讯技术的更新给人们的生活带来了翻天覆地的变化,终端通讯运营商APP线上服务功能日益丰富。APP的易用性、可用性直接关系到用户对商家的服务质量评价,商家在提升APP可用性的同时也提高了自己的市场竞争力。方法 采用眼动实验法对电信、联通运营商APP进行可用性的对比分析。结果 联通APP较电信APP图标特征明显,可用性强;电信APP较联通APP页面布局合理,界面简洁易搜索。结论 实验表明运营商APP功能图标特征明显、界面简洁易搜索、界面线索有条理可提升可用性。 相似文献

目的 对审美体验与用户可用性感知的影响进行元分析。方法 以22项实证研究为数据来源,考察了审美体验对用户可用性感知的总体综合效用,并对与其相关的三大调节变量测量时机、地域文化和实际可用性等效用进行整合分析。结果 审美体验对用户可用性感知具有中等程度的积极影响。其中,审美体验对可用性感知的影响在实际使用物品之前比实际使用物品之后更为有效。审美体验对用户可用性感知的影响在亚洲最优,在美洲次之,而在欧洲最弱。物品实际可用性方面的差异,也会在一定程度上影响审美体验对可用性的感知。结论 用户对物品可用性的感知总是随着审美体验这一因素的提高而上升,其具体效果受测量时机、地域文化、物品实际可用性的影响,且其中测量时机和地域文化两因素所产生的差异显著。 相似文献

In the field of sentiment analysis, extracting aspects or opinion targets from user reviews about a product is a key task. Extracting the polarity of an opinion is much more useful if we also know the targeted Aspect or Feature. Rule based approaches, like dependency-based rules, are quite popular and effective for this purpose. However, they are heavily dependent on the authenticity of the employed parts-of-speech (POS) tagger and dependency parser. Another popular rule based approach is to use sequential rules, wherein the rules formulated by learning from the user’s behavior. However, in general, the sequential rule-based approaches have poor generalization capability. Moreover, existing approaches mostly consider an aspect as a noun or noun phrase, so these approaches are unable to extract verb aspects. In this article, we have proposed a multi-layered rule-based (ML-RB) technique using the syntactic dependency parser based rules along with some selective sequential rules in separate layers to extract noun aspects. Additionally, after rigorous analysis, we have also constructed rules for the extraction of verb aspects. These verb rules primarily based on the association between verb and opinion words. The proposed multi-layer technique compensates for the weaknesses of individual layers and yields improved results on two publicly available customer review datasets. The F1 score for both the datasets are 0.90 and 0.88, respectively, which are better than existing approaches. These improved results can be attributed to the application of sequential/syntactic rules in a layered manner as well as the capability to extract both noun and verb aspects. 相似文献
