PURPOSE: We attempted to determine whether an introducer tip catheter reduces urinary tract infection in spinal cord injured patients on intermittent catheterization. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The introducer tip catheter bypasses the colonized 1.5 cm. of the distal urethra. Enrolled patients were prospectively entered into the study in alternate groups depending on whether they reflex voided: group 1--on intermittent catheterization with the introducer tip catheter but not voiding spontaneously or wearing an external urinary catheter, group 2--same as group 1 but using a nonintroducer tip catheter; group 3--on intermittent catheterization with the introducer tip catheter, voiding by reflex and wearing an external urinary catheter, and group 4--same as group 3 but using a nonintroducer tip catheter. RESULTS: Statistical significance was shown when comparing patients using versus not using the introducer tip catheter regardless of whether an external urinary catheter was worn (p = 0.0121). A greater difference was noted between patients using and not using the introducer tip catheter in the intermittent catheterization only group (p = 0.0093). CONCLUSIONS: The introducer tip catheter decreased urinary tract infections in hospitalized men with spinal cord injury on intermittent catheterization.  相似文献

We describe our experience with the hemi-Kock ileocystoplasty with a continent abdominal stoma as an alternative to an indwelling catheter or supravesical diversion in 14 women and 4 men with various problems who could not perform intermittent urethral self-catheterization. The aim of management was also to provide, if possible, a competent urethra for additional access. Mean patient age was 37 years (range 22 to 75) and mean followup was 26 months (range 5 to 58). Preoperative management in the 11 wheelchair dependent women with neurological disease was an indwelling catheter in 7, urethral intermittent catheterization with the patient in the supine position in 3 and diapers in 1. Two women with a nonneurogenic bladder and a grossly incompetent urethra (1 after multiple incontinence and fistula repairs, and 1 after severe obstetrical trauma) wore diapers, while 1 with urinary retention and inability to perform self-catheterization had an indwelling catheter. The 4 men included 2 wheelchair dependent incontinent spinal cord injury patients who could not be managed with condom drainage, 1 with multiple anomalies who had trouble with self-catheterization, and 1 with an impassable postoperative stricture and a suprapubic tube. Surgery included anti-incontinence procedures in 10 patients and bladder neck closure in 3. A total of 15 patients required bladder augmentation in addition to the stoma and 3 had a stoma alone. Postoperative intervention was necessary in 4 women for stomal incontinence and in 2 of these bladder stones were removed simultaneously. One of these women was later treated for recurrent stones cystoscopically through the stoma. Overall, 17 of 18 patients are dry on intermittent stomal catheterization, with 1 lost to followup. We conclude that this procedure is a good alternative in patients with an end stage urethra or who cannot perform urethral catheterization because of physical disability. Establishing urethral continence and maintaining patency leaves a safety valve should the stoma fail. Since the bladder remains as a reservoir no ureteral surgery is necessary.  相似文献

The importance of urinary tract infection (UTI) in patients with spinal cord injury cannot be understated. Many patients with significant bacteriuria are considered to be colonised rather than infected, and treatment should be reserved for those with clinical symptoms or other signs of infection. Published research on the prevention and management of UTI in patients with spinal cord injury often has limitations due to differences in definitions of UTI, studies on groups using different urinary drainage appliances, the mixture of newly injured and longstanding injured patients and studies being carried out predominantly on male patients. The complications due to UTI and the difficulties in treating established infection mean that prevention is essential. Close urological follow-up is crucial in ensuring that adequate bladder drainage is achieved avoiding the use of long term indwelling urinary catheters if at all possible. For those patients who require long term urinary appliances patient education and strict attention to hygiene and catheter care policies is important. The role of antiseptic/ antibiotics is strictly limited in preventing UTI in patients with spinal cord injury and may even be harmful. Further study into which groups of patients may benefit from the use of antiseptics or antibiotics is urgently required. Continued research into different methods of prevention eg by vaccination, immunotherapy, the use of receptor analogues and bladder interference should also be encouraged.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: Patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) and chronic indwelling catheters are known to be at increased risk of bladder malignancy. "Decatheterization" by clean intermittent catheterization, external condom catheterization, or spontaneous voiding is thought to reduce the risk by decreasing the chronic mucosal irritation and rate of infection. We examined two Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) data bases to test this theory. METHODS: A population-based retrospective analysis of invasive treatments for carcinoma of the bladder in all DVA hospitals was conducted using computerized inpatient files from fiscal years 1988 to 1992. RESULTS: One hundred thirty patients with bladder malignancy were identified from a pool of 33,565 patients with SCI (0.39%). All 130 patients underwent either radical cystectomy (n = 63, 48%) or transurethral resection of bladder tumor (n = 67, 52%). The 30-day perioperative mortality and overall 5-year survival rates were 2 (1.5%) and 49 (38%) of 130, respectively. Of the 130 patients analyzed, 42 (32%) had adequate data available regarding tumor pathologic findings and method of bladder management for analysis. The average age at diagnosis was 57.3 years. The histologic finding was transitional cell carcinoma in 23 (55%), squamous cell carcinoma in 14 (33%), and adenocarcinoma in 4 (10%) of 42. Bladder management was an indwelling urethral catheter in 18 (43%), suprapubic catheter in 8 (19%), clean intermittent catheterization in 8 (19%), and condom catheter in 6 (14%) of 42 patients. Squamous cell carcinoma was more common in patients with indwelling urethral catheters and suprapubic tubes (11 of 26, 42%) than in those using clean intermittent catheterization, condom catheterization, or spontaneous voiding (3 of 16, 19%). CONCLUSIONS: Bladder cancer was diagnosed in approximately 0.39% of this large SCI population during a 5-year period. Most cancers (55%) were transitional cell carcinomas. Squamous cell carcinoma was more common in patients with SCI and indwelling catheters than those without chronic catheterization. These data continue to suggest that avoidance of indwelling catheters, when feasible, is the preferred method of bladder management in patients with SCI.  相似文献

The influence of long-term indwelling urethral catheterization was studied by random bladder and urethral biopsies in 62 spinal cord injury patients. Six patients (10 per cent) had diffuse squamous cell bladder carcinoma, 4 of whom had no tumor visible endoscopically. Five of the patients with cancer were among 25 patients (20 per cent) managed with an indwelling urethral catheter for more than 10 years (average 21 years, range 15 to 30 years). The other cancer patient had been free of the catheter for 27 years after suprapubic cystotomy for 4 years. Gross and microscopic hematuria was associated with cancer. Squamous metaplasia of the bladder was significantly greater in patients who had been catheterized for more than 10 years (80 per cent), compared to those catheterized for less than 10 years (42 per cent) and patients without catheters (20 per cent). Urethral squamous metaplasia increased slightly in long-term catheterization patients. Urinary infection was universal and did not distinguish patients with inflammation, metaplasia or cancer. Therefore, the duration of indwelling catheterization seems to be the major factor in squamous changes in these patients.  相似文献

PURPOSE: We investigated the changes in sexuality and quality of life that evolve after lower urinary tract reconstruction in neurologically impaired women previously treated with an indwelling urethral catheter. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 18 neurologically impaired women treated with an indwelling urethral catheter underwent bladder reconstruction. Pubovaginal sling urethral compression was required to restore perineal dryness in 13 patients and was the only operation required in conjunction with intermittent catheterization in 3. Eight patients underwent ileocystostomy, that is creation of a "bladder chimney," and 4 underwent augmentation cystoplasty with creation of a continent catheterizable stoma. In 3 patients ileocystoplasty alone with intermittent urethral catheterization was performed. All patients were followed 6 to 40 months (mean 18) after reconstructive surgery using a 9-part questionnaire to score numerically the effect of surgical reconstruction on sexuality and quality of life issues. RESULTS: On a scale of 0 (worst) to 5 (best) mean score for self-esteem improved from 1 preoperatively to 4 postoperatively, self-image from 1 to 4, sexual desire from 2 to 4 and ability to cope with disability from 1 to 4, respectively. In 4 of the 15 women who were sexually active preoperatively the frequency of sexual intercourse doubled from a mean of 3 to 6 times per month, respectively, and all 4 women reported improved sexual satisfaction. All 13 patients with pelvic pain and 5 with symptoms of autonomic dysreflexia noticed significant improvement if not complete resolution of the symptoms. CONCLUSIONS: Neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction treated with an indwelling urethral catheter is detrimental to sexuality and quality of life in neurologically impaired women. Urinary tract reconstruction restores not only quality of life but also sexuality by improving self-image, self-esteem and the ability to cope. Indwelling catheterization as a method of long-term urinary treatment should be avoided in women.  相似文献

Urine leakage from the umbilicus was observed while expressing urine by the Crede manoeuvre in a three-year-old tetraplegic girl with a chronically distended urinary bladder. Intravenous urography (IVU) revealed bilateral hydroureteronephrosis with markedly distended urinary bladder. Regular three hourly intermittent catheterization was advised, and the parents and carers of this child agreed to perform catheterization. There was cessation of urine leak within 48 hours of urethral drainage. Cystography performed two weeks later showed no vesicoureteric reflux; vesicoumbilical fistula was no longer demonstrable. Follow-up IVU, performed after eight and half months of regular intermittent catheterization, showed regression of hydroureteronephrosis. We believe that urine leakage from the umbilicus served two important protective functions in this child, viz. (1) it prevented possible vesical or renal rupture; (2) the striking clinical symptom of urine leak from the umbilicus focussed the attention of the carers to the underlying serious condition of the urinary tract. Further, this case demonstrates that regression of marked hydroureteronephrosis can be achieved by intermittent catheterization performed at regular intervals by devoted parents/carers, in selected cases of spinal cord injury with neuropathic bladder, and vesical outlet obstruction, thus obviating the need for any form of temporary or permanent urinary diversion.  相似文献

An 18-year-old male developed C-5 complete tetraplegia following a motor-cycle accident in May 1975. The neuropathic bladder was managed by an indwelling urethral catheter. He developed recurrent episodes of urinary infection with Proteus species. In September 1975, an X-ray of the abdomen revealed small calculi in both the kidneys. In July 1976, he underwent transurethral resection of the bladder neck and division of the external urethral sphincter; subsequently, he was put on a penile sheath drainage. He continued to suffer from repeated episodes of urinary tract infection with Proteus, Providencia, and Pseudomonas species, and he was treated with antibiotics. In 1980, intravenous urography (IVU) showed two large stones in the left kidney with marked caliectasis. The IVU performed in 1984 showed an increase in the size of the calculi in the left kidney which was grossly hydronephrotic. There were clusters of small calculi in the right kidney. The left renal calculi were treated by percutaneous lithotripsy in two sessions. In 1988, an X-ray of the abdomen revealed staghorn calculus in the right kidney and recurrence of stones in the left kidney. The staghorn calculus in the right kidney was treated by percutaneous nephrostolithotomy in two sessions. In 1991, he was admitted with acute urinary infection. IVU showed a stone in the pelviureteric junction with no excretion of contrast in the left kidney. Percutaneous nephrostomy drainage was established followed by left percutaneous nephrostolithotomy. In 1992, he was found to retain large amount of urine in the bladder; subsequently, his mother was taught to perform regular intermittent catheterisations. In 1995, he was admitted with acute urine infection. Abdominal X-ray revealed recurrence of large stones in both kidneys. With multiple sessions of Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL), about 80% clearance was achieved on the left side. Right staghorn renal stone awaits treatment. This case shows that recurrent urinary infection in spinal cord injury patients is a predisposing factor for renal lithiasis. These patients require annual urological evaluation. Urinary tract calculi, if detected, should be dealt with promptly to prevent renal damage due to urinary obstruction and urosepsis. Renal calculi can be treated effectively and safely by ESWL in spinal cord injury patients, thus avoiding the need for an invasive procedure. It is essential to achieve low-pressure, adequate emptying of the urinary bladder in patients with spinal cord injury in order to prevent recurrent urinary infection and its sequelae. Social issues involved in the care of a tetraplegic patient play a vital role in the implementation of ideal medical treatment and need to be addressed promptly to avoid any compromise in the quality of medical care.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To study urologic complications in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) in relation to their bladder management. DESIGN AND SETTING: A cohort study of patients with SCI in a rehabilitation center. PARTICIPANTS: One hundred eighty-two patients were studied; demographic data, disease characteristics, and urologic history were obtained for each. INTERVENTION: Patients responding to a questionnaire were given a clinical exam. Their medical records were reviewed, with particular attention given to the following urologic complications: lithiasis, urinary infections, orchiepididymitis, urethral trauma, vesicorenal reflux, and renal failure. RESULTS: Results are reported for 123 patients. Time since SCI was 8 years. Intermittent catheterization was the main method of bladder management. Only 32 patients had changed their method of vesical voiding. Urinary complications had developed in 75% of patients. The most common complication was urinary infection. Vesicoureteral reflux occurred in 26% of patients using percussion. Trauma related to catheterization was the main problem with intermittent catheterization, responsible for a high rate of orchiepididymitis. CONCLUSION: Intermittent catheterization is the most-used method of bladder management, but with a nonnegligible rate of urethral trauma in men. Percussion and Credé maneuver appear to be acceptable techniques of bladder management if the patient is closely monitored.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to recognise factors responsible for reduced citrate excretion, previously reported in patients with spinal cord lesions and possibly related to the occurrence of urinary tract stone or catheter blockage. Inter alia, a reference range for creatinine in plasma (34-88 mumol/l) was also obtained. Two groups of subjects were studied. The first group consisted of 64 male inpatients with spinal cord lesions and 20 male control subjects. The second group were 342 spinal patients who attended an outpatient clinic and 31 control subjects. Plasma calcium was within the normal range but higher in patients within 1 year of onset of the cord lesion than it was later or than was found in control subjects. Plasma pH and bicarbonate were within the normal range but higher in the patients than in the control subjects. When patients with urea-splitting infection were omitted the patients had a higher urinary pH and a lower urinary ammonium than the controls. Urinary and plasma citrate were lower in the patients than in the controls. Urinary citrate was related to urinary potassium and creatinine clearance. Fractional renal tubular reabsorption of citrate did not differ between patients with normal renal function and control subjects. Patients with normal glomerular filtration had lower filtered load of citrate than the controls. The coincidence of relative alkalosis and reduced citrate excretion may be relevant to the understanding of catheter blockage and urinary stone formation in spinal cord injured patients.  相似文献

Male infertility is a well recognised problem following spinal cord injury. The techniques of vibration induced ejaculation and transrectal electroejaculation have significantly increased the likelihood of sperm retrieval in spinal cord injured males; however, the reproductive capacity remains markedly reduced due to poor semen quality. The Spinal Injuries Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital has developed a programme to achieve seminal emission and enhance fertility. This study analysed the results of the first sample obtained at stimulation in 70 spinal cord injured males with respect to procedure performed, neurological level, completeness of lesion, bladder management, infection, age and duration since injury. Our study demonstrated that bladder management and neurological level were significant factors affecting the presence of motile sperm. Individuals managing their neuropathic bladder by catheter (intermittent self-catheterisation, indwelling urethral or suprapubic catheter) had significantly enhanced semen quality compared to those voiding by reflex or straining. Differences were also noted within the catheter group itself with intermittent self-catheterisation achieving a higher percentage of motile sperm present.  相似文献

PURPOSE: We define the risk of bladder cancer in multiple sclerosis related to the use of indwelling catheters and cyclophosphamide administered as an immunomodulating agent. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the records of 2,351 patients with multiple sclerosis referred to the National Center for Multiple Sclerosis. RESULTS: Of the 2,351 patients 2 women and 5 men (0.29%) had bladder cancer. Of the 850 chronically catheterized patients the incidence was 0.7%. One patient with cancer performed intermittent catheterization for a rate of 0.23% in this group. In a subgroup of 70 patients treated with cyclophosphamide 5 chronically catheterized patients (5.7%) had bladder cancer. Hematuria was the most common presenting symptom. These data were compared with those in the literature on bladder cancer in spinal cord injury. CONCLUSIONS: These data suggest a possible synergistic role of cyclophosphamide and chronic catheterization in the induction of secondary bladder cancer. Regular cystoscopy is warranted in these patients to allow early detection of bladder tumors. Nitric oxide metabolism may be an important factor in the carcinogenesis of this type of bladder cancer.  相似文献

Individuals with spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis are at high risk for developing kidney dysfunction due to high bladder pressures. We have developed a device for frequent monitoring of bladder pressures at home in those patients who use intermittent catheterization to empty their bladders. Of eight subjects enrolled in the study, only five conducted home recording of pressure. Vesical and abdominal pressures measured at home were significantly lower than clinical cystometric pressures. However, subtracted detrusor pressures obtained from home records and cystometric records were not significantly different. The home detrusor pressures were consistent over a large time and volume range. Therefore, the home monitoring method could be used to establish a normal range of bladder pressures at home and to rapidly identify high bladder pressures in advance of upper urinary tract deterioration.  相似文献

Total urinary incontinence is a difficult problem faced by the urologist. Several techniques to increase ureteral resistance have been described. The majority of them rely on intermittent catheterization for bladder emptying, especially in neurogenic incontinence. We have developed a new procedure in which a bladder flap is used to create a neourethra. This urethral extension acts as a flap valve to provide continence. Bladder emptying is accomplished by clean intermittent catheterization. Urethral lengthening with an anterior bladder-wall flap was performed in 18 patients aged a mean of 8.9 years who had neurogenic incontinence (14) or exstrophy (4). Patients with previous bladder interventions received a lateralized anterior flap. Bladder augmentation was performed in 14 of the 18 patients [detubularized ileum (11), detubularized colon (3)]. The average follow-up period is currently 29.3 months. Continence was achieved in 13 of the 18 patients (72%). Complications included urethrovesical fistulae, which developed in two patients. Two patients could not perform catheterization due to pain but had no obstruction to passage of catheter (exstrophy). Ureteral lengthening with an anterior bladder-wall flap is a useful alternative for the surgical treatment of urinary incontinence. This technique achieves a good continence rate and presents few problems with catheterization.  相似文献

Chronic bacteriuria is a common occurrence among spinal-cord injury patients and others with neuropathic bladders. If bacteria are present in the urinary tract, the patient may develop symptoms of infection or remain asymptomatic. We have compared virulence properties of 28 Escherichia coli isolates from patients with symptomatic urinary tract infections (UTI) and 29 E. coli isolates from patients with asymptomatic bacteriuria (ABU). Bacteria from patients with symptomatic UTI were more likely to be hemolytic than isolates from patients with ABU (P = 0.05) or fecal isolates obtained from healthy volunteers (P < 0.001). Bacteria from patients with symptomatic UTI were also more likely than strains isolated from patients with ABU (P = 0.08) or fecal strains (P < 0.001) to exhibit D-mannose-resistant hemagglutination of human erythrocytes. The results suggest that E. coli isolates from nonimmunocompromised patients who require intermittent catheterization and who develop symptomatic UTI may be distinguished from bacteria recovered from patients who remain asymptomatic and possibly from normal fecal E. coli.  相似文献

Specific features of nosocomial infections in patients aged 70 years or older admitted to a short-term care medical department in a 400-bed general hospital were studied to assist in designing nosocomial infection control programs for this population. Data from five annual prevalence surveys were evaluated retrospectively. The 517 patients aged 70 years or older were compared to the 1093 patients younger than 70 years. The older patients were more likely to have risk factors for nosocomial infections including severe disease (36.2% vs 19.1%; P < 10(-6)), referral from another department (24.6% vs 17.5%; P < 0.01), a long hospital stay duration (8.5 days vs 3.5 days), mechanical ventilation (4.3% vs 1.6%; P < 0.01), an indwelling urinary catheter (12.0% vs 4.0%; P < 10(-7)), and a long median duration of urinary catheterization (6 days vs 2 days). The prevalence of nosocomial infections was increased nearly two-fold in the older patients (10.3% vs 5.6%; P < 0.01), although the difference was statistically significant only for urinary tract infections (5.4% vs 1.4%; P < 10(-5)), particularly in patients without urinary catheters. After exclusion of all patients with urinary tract infections, the prevalence of nosocomial infections was similar in the older and younger patients (4.3% vs 3.7%) despite a persistently higher frequency of risk factors for nosocomial infection in the older group. These results indicate that urinary tract infection should be the main target of programs aimed at minimizing nosocomial infection in elderly patients admitted to short-term care facilities. Faultless technique is essential during urinary catheter insertion. High-quality nursing care contributes substantially to the prevention of urinary tract infection in noncatheterized patients with urinary incontinence or neurologic disorders.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Intrathecal neostigmine may produce analgesia by itself and may enhance analgesia from spinal clonidine. Before clinical trials, the spinal cord blood flow effects of these drugs alone and in combination should be examined in animals. METHODS: Conscious, nonpregnant ewes with indwelling vascular and thoracic spinal catheters received intrathecal injection of 0.2 or 2 mg neostigmine, 0.2 mg clonidine, or 2 mg neostigmine plus 0.2 mg clonidine. Mean systemic and pulmonary arterial and central venous pressures, heart rate, and cardiac output were monitored, arterial blood was sampled for blood gas tensions and pH, and spinal cord blood flow was determined by colored microsphere injection before and at 15, 60, and 240 min after spinal study drug injection. RESULTS: Neostigmine alone did not affect cardiorespiratory variables or spinal cord blood flow. Intrathecal clonidine alone decreased systemic arterial and central venous pressures, whereas these effects were not observed with addition of neostigmine. Clonidine or neostigmine alone or the combination of clonidine and neostigmine did not affect spinal cord blood flow. CONCLUSIONS: Intrathecal neostigmine alone or in combination with clonidine does not reduce spinal cord blood flow, an important preclinical toxicity issue. These results provide additional support for initial clinical trials of intrathecal neostigmine for analgesia.  相似文献

A retrospective review of 95 consecutive primary total hip arthroplasty patients was performed to assess the clinical outcome of two postoperative bladder management protocols. The first 49 patients (group 1) were treated with a pro re nata straight catheterization protocol. The next 46 patients (group 2) were treated with an indwelling catheterization protocol. There were no differences between the groups with respect to sex or age. The patients in group 2 had significantly lower incidences of urinary retention (P < .0005) and bladder distention (P < .0005) than those in group 1. Preoperative systemic diseases and urologic symptoms did not correlate with the occurrence of postoperative urinary retention or bladder distention. There were no infections in group 1. In group 2, one patient (2%) had bacteriuria and one patient (2%) had a urinary tract infection (P > .1). This trend of increased contamination in the catheterization group may be related to a mean catheterization duration of 72 hours.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Urinary bladder augmentation is gaining popularity for the treatment of dysfunctional bladders in renal transplant patients. Although reported cases of adult and pediatric transplants into the augmented bladder have been favorable, the potential risk of urinary tract infection and graft failure under immunosuppression is still disputable. We report our experiences with 4 patients who underwent renal transplantation into an augmented bladder. METHODS: Between 1971 and 1996, 1275 renal transplants were performed at our institution. Of these transplants, 4 patients underwent renal transplantation into an augmented urinary bladder. Augmentation cystoplasty was performed before transplantation in 3 patients and 7 years after transplantation in the other patient. The bladder was augmented with an ileal segment in 3 patients and a ureter in the fourth patient. Graft function was assessed by the serum creatinine level. Fluorocystometrograms were performed in all patients at fixed intervals. RESULTS: Posttransplant renal function was satisfactory overall and no patient exhibited proteinuria. All patients except 1 acquired a large capacity low pressure bladder and remained continent with clean intermittent catheterization. One patient who underwent ureterocystoplasty is still incontinent because of his relatively small bladder capacity. Posttransplant pyelonephritis was documented in 3 patients during the follow-up period, but no other complications were observed. CONCLUSIONS: Our study demonstrates that renal transplantation into extensively reconstructed bladders can be safely performed with good success. Although urinary tract infection is a major consideration, we recommend pretransplant reconstruction not only to preserve graft function, but also to achieve urinary continence.  相似文献

Twelve subjects experiencing stress urinary incontinence caused by spinal injury or myelomeningocele were treated by periurethral injection of a bulking agent, glutaraldehyde cross-linked (GAX) collagen. Of the 11 subjects who completed the program, seven were either cured or improved and four were only slightly improved or no better following injection. The valsalva (abdominal) leak point pressure (LPP) rose an average of 57 cm H2O (pre-treatment mean of 60 cm H2O versus post-treatment mean of 117 cm H2O) and none of the patients experienced significant complications during the mean follow-up period of 24 months. Every subject injected was able to maintain an intermittent catheterization program after treatment. These data support the use of GAX collagen as an alternative or adjunct therapy to pharmacotherapy, surgical reconstruction or implantation of a prosthesis in the management of stress urinary incontinence in the neuropathic urethra.  相似文献
