Consider a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) fading channel in which the fading process varies slowly over time. Assuming that neither the transmitter nor the receiver have knowledge of the fading process, do multiple transmit and receive antennas provide significant capacity improvements at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)? For regular fading processes, recent results show that capacity ultimately grows doubly logarithmically with the SNR independently of the number of transmit and receive antennas used. We show that for the Gauss-Markov fading process in all regimes of practical interest the use of multiple antennas provides large capacity improvements. Nonregular fading processes show completely different high-SNR behaviors due to the perfect predictability of the process from noiseless observations. We analyze the capacity of MIMO channels with nonregular fading by presenting a lower bound, which we specialize to the case of band-limited slowly varying fading processes to show that the use of multiple antennas is still highly beneficial. In both cases, regular and nonregular fading, this capacity improvement can be seen as the benefit of having multiple spatial degrees of freedom. For the Gauss-Markov fading model and all regimes of practical interest, we present a communication scheme that achieves the full number of degrees of freedom of the channel with tractable complexity. Our results for underspread Gauss-Markov and band-limited nonregular fading channels suggest that multiple antennas are useful at high SNR.  相似文献

For the simulation of practical frequency-diversity wireless communication systems, such as frequency-hopping systems, multicarrier code-division multiple-access systems, and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing systems, it is often desirable to produce multiple Rayleigh fading processes with given frequency correlation properties. In this paper, a novel stochastic wide-sense stationary sum-of-sinusoids channel simulator is proposed to emulate frequency-correlated wideband fading channels, where the frequency correlation properties are controlled by only adjusting the constant phases. Closed-form expressions are provided for all the parameters of the simulation model. This enables us to investigate analytically the overall correlation properties (not only the correlation coefficients) of the simulated processes with respect to both time separation and frequency separation. It is shown that the wideband channel simulator will be reduced to a narrowband Rayleigh fading-channel simulator by removing the frequency selectivity. Furthermore, the COST 207 typical-urban and rural-area channels are applied to evaluate the performance of the resulting wideband and narrowband channel simulators, respectively. The correlation properties of the simulation models approach the desired ones of the underlying reference models as the number of exponential functions tends to infinity, while very good approximations are achieved with the chosen limited number of exponential functions  相似文献

本文分析了小尺度无线衰落信道的理论参考模型—Clark模型,比较了两种较为重要的确定性仿真模型的参数计算方法—精确多普勒扩展法(MEDS)和随机精确多普勒扩展法(R_MEDS),提出了一种新的用于仿真平坦衰落信道Jakes模型的参数计算方法,即在MEDS的基础上对离散多普勒频率引入随机抖动。仿真数据和图形表明,在模型复杂度较低的情况下,新的信道模型的自相关和互相关特性较R_MEDS有很大改善,而且与原始MEDS相比,新模型多普勒频率为随机变量,可以有效仿真瑞利衰落、多个不相关的瑞利衰落和频率选择性衰落信道等,并且可以结合工程需要设定随机抖动幅度,保证了衰落信道的不相关性和遍历性的有机统一。   相似文献

日趋重要的高速移动工具,如高速铁路、无人驾驶飞机等,大多都处在开阔地带.由于视距传播的存在,瑞利衰落模型已经不能很好地描述该环境下的信道情况,而莱斯衰落信道模型由视距分量和多径分量组成,更能准确地表述上述信道变化.基于此模型,在大规模天线系统下,在已存在的基于叠加训练序列信道估计方法的基础上,提出了改进的信道估计方法和对应的解码方法.改进后的信道估计方法分为直射分量已知和未知两种情况,分别推导了相应的信道估计公式和解码方法.数值仿真结果验证了本文所提方案性能的优越性.  相似文献

This research presents a unified performance analysis methodology for the power domains of uplink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system consisting of a base station and an arbitrary number of users over Rayleigh fading channels. The study derives exact closed-form expressions for key performance metrics, such as outage probability (OP), symbol error rate (SER), outage capacity (OC), average channel capacity (AVC), and amount of fading, using binary phase shift keying (BPSK) and quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulations. The analysis encompasses all necessary channel parameters for evaluating the performance of an uplink NOMA system. The theoretical and simulation results completely supported one another. Furthermore, the results were compared with experiments in the literature using similar parameters. The proposed system was determined to increase performance by 40% for OP, 62% for SER, and 4.74 times for AVC at SNR = 20 dB. Finally, this study introduced exact solutions that can significantly accelerate NOMA systems analysis by exploiting the information in the existing database for analytical design processes in communications theory.  相似文献

为了表述无线信道衰落的时变及远区分布特性,提出了利用时域有限差分(FDTD)方法研究由多径效应引起的时变无线信道衰落的方法。在此将无线信道的衰落建模为随机过程,而不是通常的确定性随机变量。首先基于Clarke统计模型,利用FDTD方法研究了时变无线信道的小尺度平坦衰落特征;然后利用Monte Carlo方法和FDTD方法产生了具有信道多普勒功率谱特性的色高斯随机过程,再基于无线信道的时变统计特性建模,用Suzuki模型研究了时变无线信道的快衰落;最后将无线信道衰落特性分布和理论分布做了比较,验证了方法的有效性。  相似文献

A multipath fading model has been used to examine the characteristics of a point-to-point microwave radio channel. The new attributes of this model that differ from other multipath models enable the incorporation of the ideas of fading severity and time variability. This is achieved by the use of a biased Rayleigh-distributed second (interfering) ray. The biasing constant determines the fading severity, while the Rayleigh cutoff frequency determines the rate-of-change of the channel. For point-to-point microwave radio channels, this model provides narrow-band fading signal-level distributions that completely replicate the Norton or Nakagami-Rice distributions while at the same time providing signal level distributions that replicate those obtained from broad-band measurements. Thus, this model unifies the narrow-band and broadband multipath fading models. Using this model, nondiversity and diversity system operation is investigated and the concept of a broad-band correlation coefficient introduced. The distributions of notch speed are also investigated. Software simulation results are compared with some hardware simulation results and field measurements  相似文献

In this paper, an in-depth comparative analysis of the most accepted and approved Rayleigh fading channel simulators is presented. Our study addresses the three common methods for generating time-correlated Rayleigh fading processes: the inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) method, the filtering white Gaussian noise (FWGN) method and the sum-of-sinusoids (SOS) method. Totally seven models, including the recently proposed models, are analyzed and compared with Clarke's reference model. We use four quantitative measures for judicious assessment of the quality of generated processes in terms of both first-order and second-order statistics. Additionally, these measures cover analysis in time domain as well as in frequency domain. An evaluation of the computational effort is also depicted. The simulation results suggest that the recently published Wang's model is very attractive and it outperforms all SOS-based models. We conclude that Zheng and Xiao's first model remains the best choice among Zheng and Xiao's family models. Several other important remarks and conclusions about the accuracy and the capability of the different Rayleigh fading simulators are driven from this study.  相似文献

移动通信过程中由于移动设备所处的环境不同,存在不同的信道衰落,从各种衰落模型的相互关系出发,提出了一种移动无线衰落信道混合应用模型。通过实现瑞利衰落分布和对数正态分布,经线性和非线性变换可以得到Nakagami和Suzuki等分布。对提出的复合衰落模型进行仿真,仿真结果符合理论值。该混合衰落模型设计和仿真方法可以用于指导信道模拟器设计和通信系统仿真。  相似文献

Stochastic properties of the binary channel that describe the successes and failures of the transmission of a modulated signal over a time-correlated flat-fading channel are considered for investigation. This analysis is employed to develop Kth-order Markov models for such a burst channel. The order of the Markov model that generates accurate analytical models is estimated for a broad range of fading environments. The parameterization and accuracy of an important class of hidden Markov models, known as the Gilbert-Elliott channel (GEC), are also investigated. Fading rates are identified in which the Kth-order Markov model and the GEC model approximate the fading channel with similar accuracy. The latter model is useful for approximating slowly fading processes, since it provides a more compact parameterization.  相似文献

The generation of multiple uncorrelated Rayleigh fading waveforms is often demanded for simulating wideband fading channels, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels, and diversity-combined fading channels. In this letter, an improved deterministic sum-of-sinusoids (SoS) channel simulator with a new parameter computation method is proposed to simulate a large number of uncorrelated Rayleigh fading processes. Compared with the existing SoS channel simulators, the proposed deterministic SoS model yields a much better simulation efficiency while still preserving satisfactory approximations to the desired statistical properties of the reference model.  相似文献

To evaluate mobile communication systems, it is important to develop accurate and concise fading channel models. However, fading encountered in mobile communication is usually non‐stationary, and the existing methods can only model quasi‐stationary or piecewise‐stationary fading instead of general non‐stationary fading. To address this, this paper proposes an evolutionary spectrum (ES)‐based approach to modeling non‐stationary fading channels. Our ES approach is more general than the existing piecewise‐stationary models and is capable of characterizing a general non‐stationary fading channel that has an arbitrary ES (or time‐varying power spectral density); our ES approach is parsimonious and is also able to generate stationary fading processes. As an example, we show how to apply our ES approach to generating stationary and non‐stationary correlated Nakagami‐m fading channel processes. Simulation results show that the ES of the channel gain process produced by our ES‐based channel model agrees well with the user‐specified ES, indicating the accuracy of our ES‐based channel model. In this paper, a model for performing bit-error-rate (BER) analysis of various channel models is presented. Traditional simulation methods model the mobile radio channel as having Rayleigh fading, and are focused on the fluctuation of the amplitude of the received signal. Modern spatial models include information such as the angle of arrival of the incoming signals, the time-delay spread, and the number of multipath components. A simulation tool is developed that exploits the spatial statistical characteristics of the channel in order to derive estimates of the expected BER performance. The specific case of the geometrically based single-bounce elliptical model (GBSBEM) is presented and compared to the Rayleigh model. The impact of the employment of antenna arrays at the receiver is also examined. The possibility of determining the BER performance of communication systems, assuming arbitrary channel models, is justified.  相似文献

Simulating wideband fading channels, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels, and diversity-combined fading channels often demands the generation of multiple uncorrelated Rayleigh fading waveforms. In this letter, two appropriate parameter computation methods, namely the method of exact Doppler spread (MEDS) and Lp -norm method (LPNM), for deterministic sum-of-sinusoids (SoS) channel simulators are investigated to guarantee the uncorrelatedness between different simulated Rayleigh fading processes. It was previously proposed to adapt several transmission methods, including modulation, power control, channel coding, and antenna diversity to rapidly time variant fading channel conditions. Prediction of the channel coefficients several tens-to-hundreds of symbols ahead is essential to realize these methods in practice. We describe a novel adaptive long-range fading channel prediction algorithm (LRP) and its utilization with adaptive transmission methods. The LRP is validated for standard stationary fading models and tested with measured data and with data produced by our novel realistic physical channel model. Both numerical and simulation results show that long-range prediction makes adaptive transmission techniques feasible for mobile radio channels  相似文献

根据当前无线移动通信对多天线移动接收端性能仿真的要求,讨论并建立了适于空时信号处理的移动端矢量信道模型。通过分析无线移动信道特点。研究了影响接收信号幅度相位的诸多因素,建立了相应的数学模型。并对随机参数选取进行了探讨。其中考虑到移动端接收信号到达角扩散的特点,采用GBSB椭圆模型产生了适于移动端接收信号仿真的随机角度,改进了一种瑞利衰落生成算法。最后信道的数值仿真结果符合理论和经验。同时,通过TD-SCDMA系统链路级仿真,也证明了该信道模型的有效性。  相似文献

针对复合衰落信道模型下分布式MIMO系统下行中断概率问题,首先建立了一个综合考虑Nakagami-m衰落、路径损耗和阴影衰落的复合衰落信道模型;然后针对存在中心基站的分布式MIMO系统,提出了一种更符合实际应用环境的准均匀小区移动台分布模型;接着利用矩生成函数、Gauss-Hermite积分公式和Simpson积分公式等数学手段推导了任意移动台分布下、单小区内系统平均下行中断概率闭合表达式;最后将准均匀移动台分布模型应用到该中断概率闭合表达式,并通过MATLAB仿真证明了所推导得到的闭合表达式及小区分布模型的合理性。  相似文献

Dual hop wireless links offer a simple means of achieving broad coverage through low power transmitters. But, such systems are not immune from fading present in all wireless systems. While several fading models exist, fading treated as a cascading process, namely the cascaded model, allows flexibility in describing channel conditions that are far worse than those existing in Nakagami channels. In this work, an exact analysis of a dual hop link operating in a cascaded N*Nakagami channel is studied. The error rates were estimated using the exact model and compared to the results obtained using random number simulation. These results show an excellent match suggesting the strength of the approach. While the dual hop systems might offer simplicity, the error rate analysis in such systems illustrates that the performance is worse than what is seen in a conventional direct link.  相似文献
