基于双折射光纤中光脉冲传输方程,详细分析了二阶色散、自相位调制以及交叉相位调制在光脉冲传输过程中引起的啁啾。分析结果显示:通过合理选取入射功率,二阶色散引起的啁啾与自相位调制引起的啁啾在脉冲中心附近可以相互抵消,从而使脉冲展宽最小;交叉相位调制产生的两偏振分量的啁啾引起的频移,可使两偏振分量间产生互束缚,利用这种现象可以抑制偏振模色散。 相似文献

在导出自相位调制和交叉相位调制共同作用所致相位调制频率啁啾的基础上,数值研究了相位调制频率啁啾与初始啁啾的关系,并对有和无初始啁啾40Gbit/s归零码(RZ)在二阶和三阶色散完全补偿(路径平均色散为0)的色散管理偏振复用孤子传输系统中的传输效果进行计算。结果表明,在输入功率达到一定值时,初始啁啾参量C对相位调制频率啁啾的作用,决定着系统偏振复用孤子技术的成效及传输性能,适当选取初始啁啾参量C能够有效抑制偏振模色散,提高孤子脉冲稳定传输距离。 相似文献

提出了一种产生高消光比超短光脉冲的新方法.利用相位调制器调制连续光生成啾啁光,而后利用M-Z强度调制器的倍频调制抑制对压缩不利的啁啾部分的影响,再通过等效啁啾光纤光栅进行压缩产生光脉冲.理论和仿真结果表明,该方法可以很好地消除光脉冲的基底及减小旁辦,产生消光比大于30 dB、波形理想的光脉冲,具有很强的可实现性.最后利用实际制作的色散系数为-380 ps/nm的等效啁啾光纤光栅对该方法进行了实验验证,结果表明,在重复频率为2.5 GHz、相位调制系数为9时,可产生脉宽小于18 ps的高质量光脉冲. 相似文献

We present a method for transmitting 25-Gb/s optical nonreturn-to-zero signals at a wavelength of 1550 nm over a 40-km single-mode fiber without any dispersion compensation methods. We propose optimized self-phase modulation by varying parameters of the fiber launching power and the extinction ratio of optical non-return to zero signals to overcome severe signal distortions by the chromatic dispersion effect. Using the optimization of the self-phase modulation effect, we were able to transmit 25-Gb/s optical nonreturn-to-zero signals over a 40-km single-mode fiber, which can be applicable to passive optical networks with a single wavelength channel and a high split ratio. We demonstrated that the self-phase modulation effect can be controlled by the extinction ratio and the fiber launching power. 相似文献

For transmission systems at 10 Gb/s and beyond, polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) is one of the limiting factors. Optical PMD compensators aim at increasing the PMD value tolerated by the system; however, they do not cancel out its effects. Therefore, the performance of a PMD compensator is assessed statistically. Requirements for optical PMD compensators include a response time in the range of 1 ms in order to follow polarization fluctuations over the line. The system design should account for the interaction of other transmission impairments with the PMD compensator operation. For instance, transmitter chirp and residual chromatic dispersion have a deleterious impact on the compensator performance. While self-phase modulation is harmless, cross-phase modulation greatly reduces the compensator efficiency. System design rules have been applied to a one-year field trial, showing the compensator's efficiency and reliability. However, reducing their cost is the next challenge that will bring optical PMD compensators to be used in installed systems. 相似文献

提出了一种新型的可小范围连续调谐的色度色散(CD)补偿方案.该CD补偿方案包括一个半导体光放大器(SOA)和一段固定长度的色散补偿光纤(DCF).利用SOA的交叉相位调制(XPM)效应,通过调节SOA的偏置电流和控制脉冲光的强度,可以对进入SOA的光信号引入不同大小的附加啁啾量,从而可以利用固定长度的DCF得到补偿后的无啁啾光信号.实验中,实现了10 Gb/s可调谐CD补偿器,在无需替换DCF的情况下,实现了补偿范围为-40 ps/nm到60 ps/nm的连续可调谐CD补偿. 相似文献

光脉冲经过增益饱和的行波半导体激光放大器后,由于放大器的自相位调制,使放大脉冲附加上频率啁啾。合适的附加啁啾不但能抵销入射脉冲的初始啁啾,而且还有可能借助简单的群速度延迟线对脉冲进行压缩。本文计算了不同形状的入射脉冲经光放大器放大后的输出脉冲形状及其附加的频率啁啾,分析了它们对光放大器用于啁啾补偿的影响。 相似文献

依据主偏振态理论和一阶偏振模色散(PMD)近似,给出了信号偏振度(DOP)与PMD的解析关系式.考虑到光纤通信链路中光放大器造成的自相位调制(SPM)的影响,通过数值仿真,量化了DOP方法监测40 Gbit/s系统的PMD的失效概率.发现降低放大器输出峰值功率(10~12 dB*m)和引入适当的初始负啁啾(-1)可以显著增大PMD补偿系统作用距离. 相似文献

Even if the amplitude of a phase-modulated optical signal is constant before transmission, amplitude modulation is caused by fiber chromatic dispersion. As a result, self-phase modulation (SPM) is induced. In optical heterodyne detection, SPM cannot be compensated for by the delay equalizer (electrical domain) used to compensate fiber chromatic dispersion. However, the transmission distance limitation of multi-repeatered coherent transmission systems has not been investigated in the presence of SPM. This paper theoretically and experimentally investigates the transmission distance achievable with a phase-shift-keying (PSK) heterodyne detection system employing in-line optical amplifiers and delay equalization. The calculated results show that equalization is effective when γP0/2B2|β2|<10 in the normal dispersion regime, and γP0/2B2|β 2|<15 in the anomalous dispersion regime. Furthermore, the increase in transmission distance achieved by using equalization is experimentally shown in an 8 Gb/s PSK heterodyne transmission experiment using a conventional single-mode (SM) fiber and in-line fiber amplifiers 相似文献
