The rolling contact between aluminium strips and rolls of different materials, in which the rolls were heated in situ with an auxiliary furnace to a temperature similar to that of the strips, was studied. Rolls of solid alumina failed during the rolling of the aluminium strip; all the other rolls, including plasma spray-coated rolls, remained undamaged. Examination of the structure and composition of the coatings which developed on the rolls showed that there was more transfer for all the different rolls but that the variations between the rolls were much less than they were when the rolls were at ambient temperatures. The thick coatings formed on the rolls were predominantly aluminium metal and the characteristic structure was independent of the original roll surface structures.  相似文献

To effectively manufacture three-dimensional sheet metal parts with various curvatures produced in small-batch quantity, a continuous roll forming (CRF) process is proposed and investigated. The sheet metal is compressed between pairs of bended rolls and formed into a doubly curved surface. The shapes of forming rolls and the gap between the two rolls are piecewise controlled at a series of points. The two bended rolls and the nonuniformly distributed roll gap between them make the sheet metal bent in longitudinal and transverse directions simultaneously after the sheet metal passes through the roll gap, and a three-dimensional surface is formed continuously with the rotation of forming rolls. The relation between longitudinal elongation distribution and longitudinal bending deformation is discussed, and the lateral spreading in CRF process is analyzed; the method to compute the roll gap and the curved profiles of forming rolls are presented. Forming experiments for torus-shaped surface parts were carried out, and the experiment results demonstrate the feasibility and validity of CRF process and the presented methods.  相似文献

In asymmetric rolling the workpiece is often bent to an unexpected shape. Its curvature may be caused by a speed difference, by a lubrication mismatch or a radius difference of the work rolls, and depends on various rolling parameters, such as the ratio of the peripheral velocities of the upper roll and the lower roll, reduction ratio, average radius of the work rolls, initial plate thickness and friction between the rolls and the workpiece. A finite element simulation, which shows the influence of different diameters of the working rolls and of the degree of reduction on the bending of the workpiece, has been performed.  相似文献

建立了运用有限元软件ANSYS求解具有特殊辊廓曲线和辊间接触状态的六辊CVC轧机辊系三维弹性变形的有限元模型,合理解决了对辊间接触压扁变形的建模问题,实现了对较复杂变形的求解。以国内某1420冷轧机组为研究对象,结合现场实际数据,运用有限元软件ANSYS求解六辊CVC轧机的辊系三维弹性变形,计算结果与实测数据吻合较好。  相似文献

In this paper, a mathematical model for a four-high mill is proposed to analyze the elastic deformation of the backup and work rolls, including their respective axial deflection and surface flatness. The contact pressure between the backup and work rolls and that between the work roll and foil are functions of the roll’s position in the axial direction. In this analytical model, the rolls and foil are divided into many small regions and finite difference or matrix methods are used to derive the deflections of the work and backup rolls as a function of the force density in the foil width direction. A camber shape at the surfaces of the backup and work rolls is designed to counteract the rolls’ elastic deformation and to make the rolled foil as flat as possible. The effects of the selected roll materials upon the rolled thickness distribution are also discussed. A thickness variation within 1 μm can be obtained for a foil of 50-μm thick and 40-mm wide under reduction of 32 % using a WC work roll with a camber radius of 150 m.  相似文献
