Micro-spherical particle of MnCO3 has been successfully synthesized in CTAB-C8H18-C4H9OH-H2O micro-emulsion system. Mn2O3 decomposed from the MnCO3 is mixed with Li2CO3 and sintered at 800 °C for 12 h, and the pure spinel LiMn2O4 in sub-micrometer size is obtained. The LiMn2O4 has initial discharge specific capacity of 124 mAh g−1 at discharge current of 120 mA g−1 between 3 and 4.2 V, and retains 118 mAh g−1 after 110 cycles. High-rate capability test shows that even at a current density of 16 C, capacity about 103 mAh g−1 is delivered, whose power is 57 times of that at 0.2 C. The capacity loss rate at 55 °C is 0.27% per cycle.  相似文献

This paper describes a novel simple redox process for synthesizing monodispersed MnO2 powders and preparation of spherical LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cathode materials by molten salt synthesis (MSS) method. Monodispersed MnO2 powders have been synthesized by using potassium permanganate and manganese sulfate as the starting materials. By using this redox method, it was found that monodispersed MnO2 powders with average particle size ∼5 μm can be easily obtained. Resultant MnO2 and LiOH, Ni(OH)2 was then used to synthesis LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cathode materials with retention of spherical particle shape by MSS method. The discharge capacity was 129 mAh g−1 in the first cycle and 127 mAh g−1 after 50 cycles under an optimal synthesis condition for 12 h at 800 °C.  相似文献

A spinel LiMn2O4/C composite was synthesized by hydrothermally treating a precursor of manganese oxide/carbon (MO/C) composite in 0.1 M LiOH solution at 180 °C for 24 h, where the precursor was prepared by reducing potassium permanganate with acetylene black (AB). The AB in the precursor serves as the reducing agent to synthesize the LiMn2O4 during the hydrothermal process; the excess of AB remains in the hydrothermal product, forming the LiMn2O4/C composite, where the remaining AB helps to improve the electronic conductivity of the composite. The contact between LiMn2O4 and C in our composite is better than that in the physically mixed LiMn2O4/C material. The electrochemical performance of the LiMn2O4/C composite was investigated; the material delivered a high capacity of 83 mAh g−1 and remained 92% of its initial capacity after 200 cycles at a current density of 2 A g−1, indicating its excellent rate capability as well as good cyclic performance.  相似文献

Sub-micro spinel-structured LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4 material was prepared by a spray-drying method. The electrochemical properties of LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4 were investigated using Li ion model cells, Li/LiPF6 (EC + DMC)/LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4. It was found that the first reversible capacity was about 132 mAh g−1 in the voltage range of 3.60-4.95 V. Ex situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis had been used to characterize the first charge/discharge process of the LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4 electrode. The result suggested that the material configuration maintained invariability. At room temperature, on cycling in high-voltage range (4.50-4.95 V) and low-voltage range (3.60-4.50 V), the discharge capacity of the material was about 100 and 25 mAh g−1, respectively, and the spinel LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4 exhibited good cycle ability in both voltage ranges. However, at high temperature, the material showed different electrochemical characteristics. Excellent electrochemical performance and low material cost make this spinel compound an attractive cathode for advanced lithium ion batteries.  相似文献

Li2FeSiO4/carbon/carbon nano-tubes (Li2FeSiO4/C/CNTs) and Li2FeSiO4/carbon (Li2FeSiO4/C) composites were synthesized by a traditional solid-state reaction method and characterized comparatively by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, BET surface area measurement, galvanostatic charge-discharge and AC impedance spectroscopy, respectively. The results revealed that the Li2FeSiO4/C/CNT composite exhibited much better rate performance in comparison with the Li2FeSiO4/C composite. At 0.2 C, 5 C and 10 C, the former composite electrode delivered a discharge capacity of 142 mAh g−1, 95 mAh g−1, 80 mAh g−1, respectively, and after 100 cycles at 1 C, the discharge capacity remained 95.1% of its initial value.  相似文献

Micro-scaled spherical CoSn2/Sn alloy powders synthesized from oxides of Sn and Co via carbothermal reduction at 800 °C were examined for use as anode materials in Li-ion battery. The phase composition and particle morphology of the CoSn2/Sn alloy composite powders were investigated by XRD, SEM and TEM. The prepared CoSn2/Sn alloy composite electrode exhibits a low initial irreversible capacity of ca. 140 mAh g−1, a high specific capacity of ca. 600 mAh g−1 at constant current density of 50 mA g−1, and a good rate capability. The stable discharge capacities of 500-515 mAh g−1 and the columbic efficiencies of 95.8-98.1% were obtained at current density of 500 mA g−1. The relatively large particle size of CoSn2/Sn alloy composite powder is apparently favorable for the lowering of initial capacity loss of electrode, while the loose particle structural characteristic and the Co addition in Sn matrix should be responsible for the improvement of cycling stability of CoSn2/Sn electrode.  相似文献

Synthesis, electrochemical, and structural properties of LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 cathodes prepared by TiO2 nanoparticles coating on a Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05(OH)2 precursor have been investigated by the variation of coating concentration and annealing temperature. TiO2-coated cathodes showed that Ti elements were distributed throughout the particles. Among the coated cathodes, the 0.6 wt% TiO2-coated cathode prepared by annealing at 750 °C for 20 h exhibited the highest reversible capacity of 176 mAh g−1 and capacity retention of 92% after 40 cycles at a rate of 1C (=190 mA g−1). On the other hand, an uncoated cathode showed a reversible first discharge capacity of 186 mAh g−1 and the same capacity retention value to the TiO2-coated sample at a 1C rate. However, under a 1C rate cycling at 60 °C for 30 cycles, the uncoated sample showed a reversible capacity of 40 mAh g−1, while a TiO2-coated one showed 71 mAh g−1. This significant improvement of the coated sample was due to the formation of a possible solid solution between TiO2 and LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2. This effect was more evident upon annealing the charged sample while increasing the annealing temperature, and at 400 °C, the coated one showed a more suppressed formation of the NiO phase from the spinel LiNi2O4 phase than the uncoated sample.  相似文献

Electrochemical and thermal properties of Co3(PO4)2- and AlPO4-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathode materials were compared. AlPO4-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathodes exhibited an original specific capacity of 170.8 mAh g−1 and had a capacity retention (89.1% of its initial capacity) between 4.35 and 3.0 V after 60 cycles at 150 mA g−1. Co3(PO4)2-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathodes exhibited an original specific capacity of 177.6 mAh g−1 and excellent capacity retention (91.8% of its initial capacity), which was attributed to a lithium-reactive Co3(PO4)2 coating. The Co3(PO4)2 coating material could react with LiOH and Li2CO3 impurities during annealing to form an olivine LixCoPO4 phase on the bulk surface, which minimized any side reactions with electrolytes and the dissolution of Ni4+ ions compared to the AlPO4-coated cathode. Differential scanning calorimetry results showed Co3(PO4)2-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathode material had a much improved onset temperature of the oxygen evolution of about 218 °C, and a much lower amount of exothermic-heat release compared to the AlPO4-coated sample.  相似文献

In order to get homogeneous layered oxide Li[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]O2 as a lithium insertion positive electrode material, we applied the metal acetates decomposition method. The oxide compounds were calcined at various temperatures, which results in greater difference in morphological (shape, particle size and specific surface area) and the electrochemical (first charge profile, reversible capacity and rate capability) differences. The Li[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]O2 powders were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), charge/discharge cycling, cyclic voltammetry and SEM. XRD experiment revealed that the layered Li[Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3]O2 material can be best synthesized at temperature of 800 °C. In that synthesized temperature, the sample showed high discharge capacity of 190 mAh g−1 as well as stable cycling performance at a current density of 0.2 mA cm−2 in the voltage range 2.3-4.6 V. The reversible capacity after 100 cycles is more than 190 mAh g−1 at room temperature.  相似文献

Layered LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 materials were synthesized at different sintering temperatures using spray-drying precursor with molar ratio of Li/Me = 1.04 (Me = transition metals). The influences of sintering temperature on crystal structure, morphology and electrochemical performance of LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 materials have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and charge-discharge test. As a result, material synthesized at 850 °C has excellent electrochemical performance, delivering an initial discharge capacity of 173.1 mAh g− 1 between 2.8 and 4.3 V at a current density of 16 mA g− 1 and exhibiting good cycling performance.  相似文献

Pure, nano-sized LiFePO4 and LiFePO4/C cathode materials are synthesized by spray-drying and post-annealing method. The influence of the sintering temperature and carbon coating on the structure, particle size, morphology and electrochemical performance of LiFePO4 cathode material is investigated. The optimum processing conditions are found to be thermal treatment for 10 h at 600 °C. Compared with LiFePO4, LiFePO4/C particles are smaller in size due to the inhibition of crystal growth to a great extent by the presence of carbon in the reaction mixture. And that the LiFePO4/C composite coated with 3.81 wt.% carbon exhibits the best electrode properties with discharge capacities of 139.4, 137.2, 133.5 and 127.3 mAh g−1 at C/5, 1C, 5C and 10C rates, respectively. In addition, it shows excellent cycle stability at different current densities. Even after 50 cycles at the high current density of 10C, a discharge capacity of 117.7 mAh g−1 is obtained (92.4% of its initial value) with only a low capacity fading of 0.15% per cycle.  相似文献

Olivine structured LiFePO4/C cathode was synthesized via a freeze-drying route and followed by microwave heating with two kinds of carbon sources: PEG-4000 (organic) and Super p (inorganic). XRD patterns indicate that the as-prepared sample has an olivine structure and carbon modification does not affect the structure of the sample. Image of SEM shows a uniform and optimized particles size, which greatly improves the electrochemical properties. TEM result reveals the amorphous carbon around the surface of the particles. At a low rate of 0.1 C, the LiFePO4/C sample presents a high discharge capacity of 157.8 mAh g−1 which is near the theoretical capacity (170 mAh g−1), and it still attains to 149.1 mAh g−1 after 200 cycles. It also exhibits an excellent rate capacity with high discharge capacities of 143.2 mAh g−1, 137.5 mAh g−1, 123.7 mAh g−1 and 101.6 mAh g−1 at 0.5 C, 1.0 C, 2.0 C and 5.0 C, respectively. EIS results indicate that the charge transfer resistance of LiFePO4 decreases greatly after carbon coating.  相似文献

Anatase titania nanotube arrays were fabricated by means of anodization of Ti foil and annealed at 400 °C in respective CO and N2 gases for 3 h. Electrochemical impendence spectroscopy study showed that CO annealed arrays possessed a noticeably lower charge-transfer resistance as compared with arrays annealed in N2 gas under otherwise the same conditions. TiO2 nanotube arrays annealed in CO possessed much improved lithium ion intercalation capacity and rate capability than N2 annealed samples. At a high charge/discharge current density of 320 mA g−1, the initial discharge capacity in CO annealed arrays was found to be as high as 223 mAh g−1, 30% higher than N2 annealed arrays, ∼164 mAh g−1. After 50 charge/discharge cycles, the discharge capacity in CO annealed arrays remained at ∼179 mAh g−1. The improved intercalation capacity and rate capability could be attributed to the presence of surface defects like Ti-C species and Ti3+ groups with oxygen vacancies, which not only improved the charge-transfer conductivity of the arrays but also possibly promoted phase transition.  相似文献

A simple and effective method, ethylene glycol-assisted co-precipitation method, has been employed to synthesize LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 spinel. As a chelating agent, ethylene glycol can realize the homogenous distributions of metal ions at the atomic scale and prevent the growth of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 particles. XRD reveals that the prepared material is a pure-phase cubic spinel structure (Fd3m) without any impurities. SEM images show that it has an agglomerate structure with the primary particle size of less than 100 nm. Electrochemical tests demonstrate that the as-prepared LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 possesses high capacity and excellent rate capability. At 0.1 C rate, it shows a discharge capacity of 137 mAh g−1 which is about 93.4% of the theoretical capacity (146.7 mAh g−1). At the high rate of 5 C, it can still deliver a discharge capacity of 117 mAh g−1 with excellent capacity retention rate of more than 95% after 50 cycles. These results show that the as-prepared LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 is a promising cathode material for high power Li-ion batteries.  相似文献

To achieve a high-energy-density lithium electrode, high-density LiFePO4/C composite cathode material for a lithium-ion battery was synthesized using self-produced high-density FePO4 as a precursor, glucose as a C source, and Li2CO3 as a Li source, in a pipe furnace under an atmosphere of 5% H2-95% N2. The structure of the synthesized material was analyzed and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The electrochemical properties of the synthesized LiFePO4/carbon composite were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and the charge/discharge process. The tap-density of the synthesized LiFePO4/carbon composite powder with a carbon content of 7% reached 1.80 g m−3. The charge/discharge tests show that the cathode material has initial charge/discharge capacities of 190.5 and 167.0 mAh g−1, respectively, with a volume capacity of 300.6 mAh cm−3, at a 0.1C rate. At a rate of 5C, the LiFePO4/carbon composite shows a high discharge capacity of 98.3 mAh g−1 and a volume capacity of 176.94 mAh cm−3.  相似文献

To improve the cathodic performance of olivine-type LiMnPO4, we investigated the optimal annealing conditions for a composite of carbon with cation doping. Nanocrystalline and the cation-doped LiMn1−xMxPO4 (M = Ti, Mg, Zr and x = 0, 0.01, 0.05 and 0.10) was synthesized in aqueous solution using a planetary ball mill. The synthesis was performed at the fairly low temperature of 350 °C to limit particle size. The obtained samples except for the Zr doped one consisted of uniform and nano-sized particles. The performance of LiMnPO4 was much improved by an annealing treatment between 500 and 550 °C with carbon in an inert atmosphere. A small amount of metal-rich phosphide (Mn2P) was detected in the sample annealed at 900 °C. In addition, 1 at.% Mg doping for Fe enhanced the rate capability in our doped samples. The discharge capacity of LiMn0.99Mg0.01PO4/C was 146 mAh/g at 0.1 mA/cm2 and 125 mAh/g even at 2.0 mA/cm2.  相似文献

A carbon coated Li3V2(PO4)3 cathode material for lithium ion batteries was synthesized by a sol-gel method using V2O5, H2O2, NH4H2PO4, LiOH and citric acid as starting materials, and its physicochemical properties were investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDAX), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and electrochemical methods. The sample prepared displays a monoclinic structure with a space group of P21/n, and its surface is covered with a rough and porous carbon layer. In the voltage range of 3.0-4.3 V, the Li3V2(PO4)3 electrode displays a large reversible capacity, good rate capability and excellent cyclic stability at both 25 and 55 °C. The largest reversible capacity of 130 mAh g−1 was obtained at 0.1C and 55 °C, nearly equivalent to the reversible cycling of two lithium ions per Li3V2(PO4)3 formula unit (133 mAh g−1). It was found that the increase in total carbon content can improve the discharge performance of the Li3V2(PO4)3 electrode. In the voltage range of 3.0-4.8 V, the extraction and reinsertion of the third lithium ion in the carbon coated Li3V2(PO4)3 host are almost reversible, exhibiting a reversible capacity of 177 mAh g−1 and good cyclic performance. The reasons for the excellent electrochemical performance of the carbon coated Li3V2(PO4)3 cathode material were also discussed.  相似文献

Two polymer electrolytes (PEs), one consisting of 1 M LiPF6 in ethylene carbonate (EC)/dimethyl carbonate (DMC) (PEEC/DMC) and the other consisting of LiTFSI in room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL), 1-ethyl-3-methyl imidazolium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl)imide (EMITFSI) (PEIL), were prepared by using electrospun P(VdF-HFP) membranes. The PEs showed typical impedance spectroscopic responses with high conductivity and good anodic stability. The PEs were applied with carbon coated LiMn0.4Fe0.6PO4 cathode material prepared by sol-gel method. The charge-discharge kinetics of LiMn0.4Fe0.6PO4 cathode cells were studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The excellent performance with high capacity and good cycle stability was observed for both the cells. The cell comprising of PEIL showed a better performance than the other cell. The cells having PEEC/DMC and PEIL delivered discharge capacities of 150 and 141 mAh g−1, and 168 and 162 mAh g−1, respectively, after cycle 1 and 50. The differences in the performance of the PEs originate from the differences in viscosity, ionic conductivity and also from the different levels of interactions of a RTIL and EC/DMC with the polymer. The evaluation of lithium ion diffusion coefficients shows its fast diffusion in both the cases, the trend of which changed with the increase in the number of cycles.  相似文献

Carbon-coated LiFePO4 (C-LiFePO4) with micron particle size (6 μm) and high tap density (1.6 g cm−3) was prepared from spherical FePO4·2H2O powder via the co-precipitation method. The C-LiFePO4 powder was calcined at temperatures between 650 and 800 °C. The 6 μm C-LiFePO4 prepared at 800 °C exhibited an excellent rate capability, delivering 150 mAh g−1 on discharge at the 0.1 C-rate and 108 mAh g−1 at the 5 C-rate. The volumetric capacity of the 6 μm C-LiFePO4 corresponded to 225 mAh cm−3, since the large secondary particles (6 μm) C-LiFePO4 sufficiently allowed tight packing of the particles. The 6 μm C-LiFePO4 powder with high tap density makes an attractive positive electrode candidate for lithium-ion batteries designed for high energy density.  相似文献

Non-spherical Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 powders have been synthesized using a two-step drying method with 5% excess LiOH at 800 °C for 20 h. The tap-density of the powder obtained is 2.95 g cm−3. This value is remarkably higher than that of the Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 powders obtained by other methods, which range from 1.50 g cm−3 to 2.40 g cm−3. The precursor and Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 are characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). XPS studies show that the predominant oxidation states of Ni, Co and Mn in the precursor are 2+, 3+ and 4+, respectively. XRD results show that the Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 material obtained by the two-step drying method has a well-layered structure with a small amount of cation mixing. SEM confirms that the Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O2 particles obtained by this method are uniform. The initial discharge capacity of 167 mAh g−1 is obtained between 3 V and 4.3 V at a current of 0.2 C rate. The capacity of 159 mAh g−1 is retained at the end of 30 charge-discharge cycle with a capacity retention of 95%.  相似文献
